So long as there is a romanceable qunari chick.
Why are you looking at me like that?
I'm sorry Karl. *stab*
I think Cassandra's a higher likelihood than Vivienne if only one of them is a romance option. I've not seen a BioWare game pump a chick into a cinematic trailer who didn't eventually want the protagonist.
Flemeth? Who doesn't want to get into all that? ![]()

I'm all for a Varric romance, I need more of that studly gentleman in my life. But, given their track record on dwarven romances I'm doubting it's going to be the case... The little guys seriously get no love.
I'm just praying for Varric. I could care less about Cullen.

Who's Cullen? Is he the dwarf with the bow?
Well, we know Mr. G's written two romance options, and Ms. H wrote one companion & romance option before leaving BW back in 2013. Since he wrote Cassandra, she's probably LI #1. I'm pretty sure if Cole is a companion, his chances of being an LI are less than 0.001%. Remember, he's mentally a child. So, that leaves us with a companion or an NPC we've yet to see.
Who knows, maybe the character Ms. H was writing was given to another writer entirely, maybe even Ms. C (she wrote Cullen in DAO, if I'm not mistaken; Ms. H wrote him in DA2). I'd like to believe Ms. H was writing Cullen for DAI, then after leaving, gave him to another writer. *sigh* I just hope whatever happens to him, they don't pull an Anders. Don't think my wee heart could take it. ![]()
I would prefer Vivienne, but Cassandra could be great. Hopefully, they are both LIs.
From what I gather, Sera/Blonde Elf Girl seems a little too adventurous for me. Hopefully, she's our Aveline 2.0
Isn't that a given? I thought DA2 established that all romances will be available to either gender PC, as that allows for maximum player choice. Is this not the case?
I don't care for Cassandra or Vivienne as a romance. ![]()
They both seem really aggressive and/or harsh. I'd like someone a bit softer, a bit kinder. There can be a dark edge to her (or else why would she even be in a group of violent adventurers?), but the core should be one of kindness. Like Leliana and Merrill: Generally softer, but with a dangerous element.
Admittedly, I don't know much about Viv yet. But what little I do know doesn't endear her well to me as a romance option (although she seems like an entertaining companion).

Not like Merril please, for the love of Gods! I don't want to feel like a child molester again and listen to unending sobs. Give us something that doesn't need guiding to the privvy.
And i doubt Cullen will be companion, as we already have 2 returning characters as those. NPC - maybe and likely, so unless there's full-fledged NPC romance, i doubt we'll be able to bang him.
Guys....guys.....if blonde elve girl is hot we are all set chill.....I doubt they wont make her pretty as DAII almost did this. But isabella is fine looking, but i would pick Merril any day. Not pretty but overall was nice.
Call me spiteful, but a romance in which the game bugs out, crashes, and corrupts the save file would make me grin ear to ear.
I believe strongly that Mr McSmugger-Shiny-Head is VERY likely a LI, I could be wrong though. ![]()
My guess (based on the posible companions we know so far) would be:
Cassandra
Cullen
Bald mage elf
Sera
I'd say Cassandra is likely as a female lead companion (Morrigan/Isabela). I'm guessing Cullen is a companion and a probable LI because he's an interesting char to include as a templar and because of his looks. Bald elf mage because he seems to be young-ish and I don't think Varric or the old Grey warden are likely. Vivienne just seems too flamboyant (and the valentine card did read "you should be so lucky"
) so I'm thinking Sera has better chances unless there's a female companion we haven't seen yet.

How is Isabela a female lead? You don't even need to recruit her to play the game. If anyone was the female lead in DA2, it was Aveline.
Pretty much the title. Have we heard anything at all about potential romances in DA:I?
The only things that have been revealed thus far are:
There will be romances
There will not be rivalmances (or rivalry at all, really)
How the romance proceeds will be more content based (what you do in the main game can affect your relationship with your LI) than gated by overall affection, though you can't romance someone you have a negative affection with
Who what and where has not been answered yet

She was featured prominently in promotional videos and materials and she stole the book which caused the Qunari to attack in Act 2.
I agree she wasn't as involved in the story as Morrigan was in DAO but I still think she stood out much more than Merril or Aveline did (before the game came out at least).

Ah, okay. She was the promotional female lead.
