I actually played as a lady the first time round and thought that Anders and Karl were implied, without the benefit of knowing the M!Hawke line. Just by how distraught he was about it...and the way he talks about in ambient dialogue.
See, I just took it as they were best friends, like brothers. I had no inkling that they were lovers.

Sera, Cassandra, unannounced female.
I would be fine with this, or just Sera and Cass.
Sera will probably be the promiscuous LI while Cassandra is the tsundere LI.
As for the third one, I just know the devs are keeping the female dwarf secret.

Personally, I hope Sera isn't. I'm tired of the Rogue-is-always-promiscuous trope that's been used for 2 games, now.

Hmmm, good point. It would be interesting if Sera were actually chaste and she just pretends to be promiscuous.
I know she's too old (well she seems old for me) just like Wynne. So it will be Sera and Cassandra.
Well, Cassandra is anywhere from 35-40 in age, so I don't see Vivienne being much older than that.

I don't like to assume straight - since I like the idea of lgbtq characters getting representation - but I got into Bioware games late (I bought both DA:O and DA2 in 2012) so I don't usually expect to see it... it makes me happy when I do.

I know Hawke has a terrible flirting line immediately after Anders's big confession about Justice, but I can't recall if Anders flirted there or not. He might have.

Yeah, actually most of the companions seem like they are going to be older.
Cassandra has to be in her mid-30's.
Varric is around the same (Wait, do dwarves and elves have extended lifespans in DA? How do I not know this?).
Cullen (if he's a romance and/or companion) is about the same. \
The Grey Warden looks more like late 30's through 40's.
Vivienne looks like she's anywhere from late 20's through late 30's.
Can't really tell with Solas.
DHMG looks like he's in his 30's to 40's.
In fact, the only ones who look like they might be younger are Sera and Scribe Girl (but even she could potentially be a bit older).
I'm liking this trend, frankly. It makes so much more sense for the characters to be older and more established given the international influence that the party will likely have.

No way, he's not as old as Wynne. She was an old lady in Origins, I mean, god bless her, but she was. He's probably early 40s.

And since it's looking more and more likely that there might only be 3 female companions, it's looking more and more likely that Sera will be an LI. Of course, that's assuming that there will be two female LI's who are both companions (like the other DA games), which isn't confirmed at all. For all we know, there could be another lady companion and/or NPC romances.

Plus, since it looks like most of the companions are going to be in their 30s-40s, we probably won't get a lot of younger options. Not that you'll hear me complain; I'm looking forward to journeying with and romancing someone closer to my RL age.

I don't think he looks as old as Loghain. I'd say that he's late 30's through mid 40's probably.
But if you play a Malequisitor, how do you know Cass could be avalible if you played a Femquisitor without metagaming ? I mean, I highly doubt she would say "oh Quizzy you're the best, and I would still be hot for you if you were a woman
I m just talking from the Malequistor POV, but you can see it, you could clearly see that Leliana was interested by other females because of Marjolaine even if you played a male warden and that Morrigan was straight too.
As for Isabella well if you have played DAO you know she isn't straight.

Why am I even doing this....? Okay, here goes:
But you wouldn't know that Morrigan is straight if you only play as a male Warden because she never says, "I am only interested in males". The same way that you would never know that Merrill is bisexual if you only play as a male Hawke because she never says, "I am also interested in females."
