Don't worry. I'm the same D:

Call me crazy, but I don't think the LIs physical ages are going to matter very much once the game comes out.  We'll be too busy overanalyzing each others choices to dwell on that too much.  :P

Fair enough, but in 15 years, you'll appreciate all of us elderly gamers who are paving the way for "older" (Am I really considering a range that starts at TWENTY to be older....?!?) characters in games.  When that happens, think back on this moment and think of us in our rockers somewhere.....!  ;)

Elderly gamers...thanks.

Excuse me, but I'm going to get my cane, listen to the Toadies and go cry into my hoodie.  ;)  :P

Yeah Origins didn't make much sense with an older character. Everyone was treating you like someone much younger.  Hopefully I can have my Inq be 25 and nothing contradicts that.

I do wonder how age will affect the romances, and to what extent. I don't date, so I have nothing to compare it to, besides works of fiction and the relationships of my friends.

Hopefully it'll be a non issue.

If I get a too old/too young for you line though *shakes fist*

Wasn't the warden 19? For some reason that age sticks out solidly in my head.

Anyways, I find it interesting that the companions have all upped in age. Is there anyone who seems like they're in their 20s? Sera MIGHT be, Solas I doubt even if he seems to have been aged down from some of his concept art. We know Varric and Cassandra and Warden aren't. Hard to tell with DHMG: mustaches always make someone look older than they are.

From what I heard, it doesn't depend upon the race.  You're just supposed to be 19-35 years old.  It isn't a rumor either, but I can't find the source.

It isn't an exact age, just like the Warden PC didn't have an exact age to pick.  It's more of a reflection on how the rest of the world will treat you.

That's fantastic news.  A canny move too; they are making their protagonist more in line with the average age of gamers, while keeping the 18-24 bracket.  I guess when you are wrangling factions and trying to stave off the end of the world, a bit of gravitas can't hurt ...

That nice looking Grey Warden is getting hotter all the time. ;)

I know, right?  At least I'm still in the age range to be an Inquisitor regardless of which one we choose, so I can't be that old, right?

Back on topic:  The age thing is one of the reasons why I could easily see Sera being a female LI.  Since she's younger and both Cass and Viv are "older" (cringe), it kind of adds one more level to the variety in the options.

However, I don't see any of the guys who seem "younger" at this point.  Either we are getting two "older" (cringe) male companions, one of them is younger than we think (Solas?), or there's another young guy that we haven't seen yet.

If Cole ends up in, his age is deeply confusing.

I think Solas would count as the "younger" male character, as he seems drastically de-aged from all the concept art. Unless DHMG is younger than he looks.

I have to wonder what a man's been doing for the past 30 years if he doesn't become a hero until he's 50.

Those traits aren't the kind of thing to lie dormant. And if a man hasn't learned them by 25, the odds of him learning them at all are ridiculously slim.

But not impossible, I suppose.

Cullen wouldn't be young either! He'd be in his mid-late 30s, I imagine.

But isn't Cullen at least 30?  It's been 10 years since the beginning of DA: O and he was a (young, but) full-fledged Templar by then.  Again, 30 is young to me, you whippersnapper, but he would be "older" compared to someone like Alistair, right?

That makes him in the younger half of companions, assuming the tweets are true. I even see Sera being in her young 30s, but only looks younger due to being an elf.

Maybe he learned them in an Annex Learning class on hero-ing.

Or maybe he was always a "hero" but just didn't have the opportunity to apply it until then.  Who knows because this is a weirdly disconnected and acontextual comment.....?

The Cullen thread guesstimates he was born around 9:05, so he'd be about 35 five now? Right around Hawke's age, or possibly older.

It's not weird. Just a comment that men generally don't come out as heroes at 50. Or 40. Whatever. People are usually pretty set in their ways by then.
