Odd, as I don't recall saying it anywhere in that topic. If I had, I imagine you'd have a direct source.
It's because you commented on that thread. And heavens knows that writers can't talk about characters other people have written. Then you'd probably have to fight or something.

WRITERS PIT FIGHT TO THE DEATH!!! 10 bucks on Kirby!
And it's especially deadly since the pen is mightier than the sword.
Well player Sir/Lady...Well played!

Doesn't everyone use laptops now instead of pens? ![]()

I try my best.

I started the True Rumors of DA:I thread, and the bald elf being romanceable is not something I'd post. I find things that have been discussed by Bioware employees, and as far as I can tell, romances still have yet to be discussed. Perhaps they'll mention it in this year's PAX.
As yet, we have no idea who all our companions are and which of those will be romancable... but that said, of the little bits we've seen so far, none of the characters presented thus far seem objectionable. ![]()
I'm hoping that the rumored Sera elf is appealing. It would be nice to have an Elf/Elf romance that I feel comfortable with - no offence to Zev fans, but I never cared for him as a romance option.
You elves take "loving nature" too far sometimes.
I want a Bella/Edward Romance in Dragon Age.
Seriously ;-)
An incredibly immature, boring tryst with a completely one-demensional character devoid of character? hmmm... maybe...I want a Bella/Edward Romance in Dragon Age.

We already had Anders. It was comparable disturbing, at least with a nice, naive f!Hawke on the friendship path. Still better than Twilight though, because those lines weren't just added for artificial drama - Anders said he would only hurt her, and so he did. He said he was dangerous, and that he was. Much more realistic.
(Oh, but it was so painful to watch, I'm not doing that again. Ever.
)
Well, I secretely am kind of a sucker for cute and dramatic romances. And I would love happy endings.
I've only had enough of those overly dramatic and destructive relationships. If I hear the "Oh woe is me, I love you so much but I'm dangerous and I'm going to hurt you!" thing one more time ... I'll make my character dump this one immediately.
(Plus, I still feel ashamed I read Twilight as a Teenager. I don't want to be reminded of it.
)
...I actually wouldn't mind a Twilight-esque romance. Not another Anders, though. I'd take a rock over that abomination.
I liked Twilight!
*runs and hides*
I wonder if there might, just might, be more than two romance options per gender? Mainly because it's been stated that they'll be nine companions, which is more than a DA base game (not including dlc's) have had before... It could be possible? I suppose I'm still holding out hope for a Varric romance! lol
I'm trying not to speculate over such things, not to get my hopes up ... but I have to admit, I've been wondering about that, too.
Although I'm pretty sure it will not happen. There will be two LIs per gender, like we had before. *trying really hard to stay realistic*
I've always been interested in having a romance option with an NPC versus companion. Not simply a one-time deal, but a relationship that develops throughout the game. Say a local tavern owner, or a commander of the Inquisitor's agents, the leader of a group of thieves/townsfolk, or some other NPC that plays a role in the game and will be around throughout. But, this would not be to the exclusion of the option to romance a companion. Just a different angle.
The Quiz, it seems, will be meeting a lot of people, outside of his own party of typical fellow-adventurers, trying to build up his Quizition. This could be the first Dragon Age game in which there will be significant interpersonal interactions outside of the Quiz' own party. Thus, it might very well be the first one in which they will spring out a non-party NPC romance. In this title, it could make sense. Though, no, I don't think Morrigan will be an option, even if she's not pining for a disappeared Warden (or - alternatively - knows where he's disappeared to).
Perhaps your beloved will move now into your main stronghold instead of your mansion. Could be interesting. She could give you some token of affection to wear before you go off to quizzing and battling, would be so nicely Arthurian-Romantic.

This can be done but it needs to be someone who is always close to the inquisitor. It worked in ME3 with Steve and Traynor because they were your flight guy and computer whiz respectively, and they were always on board the ship. So the only way it can work with your mobile inquisitor is for them to be your inventory manager or personal blacksmith and such. It would be an interesting change of pace in the DA universe, but I doubt it would happen.
