Although I'm still praying that Varric will be a LI, at least if worse case scenario he isn't, I have Cullen to fall back to....but...but I really want Varric  ...... :3

So I guess there's no NPC romances?

 

There's some talk on Tumblr that Cullen is a companion, but it's not a trusted source. I believe they've mistakenly correlated LI with Companion, which isn't necessarily the case. So it's possible that Cullen could be an NPC romance.

Funny enough, it's the blonde thing that irritates me most. What is with all the blonde male LIs? Let's get some dark haired men!

 

Someone in the design team must have a blond haired man fetish. It's the only conclusion I came up with for having 3 games in a row with the white human male romance being blond.

Now that they've been confirmed I begin praying even harder that neither Varric nor Solas are the other male LI. And also praying that there's 3 of each gender because that would be amazing.

I'm praying the other male LI is DHMG my life will be perfect if that happens.

I'm kinda tired of the hot/white/blonde guy and elf combination, but I am very happy that Cullen is now available to those who want (and have waited patiently for) him. My personal hope is for some Iron Bull LI action, and barring that, DHMG and his epic stache. (Bearded Warden is somewhere in between those two, but it seems like a pipe dream. )

To be fair, Cullen wasn't originally conceived as a LI. I believe DG said they didn't even ask the team to make him attractive, he just sorta ended up that way by accident. He looked the way he does before they even considered making him a LI, so yeah. Normally I'd agree but I thought he was adorable in DAO, and then he got hotter in DA2 to the extent it pissed me off I couldn't romance him. Maker bless them for finally rectifying this travesty.

I wasn't implying that was the case, sorry if I was being rude. I'm just saying that this is a trend that is a little bit... funny? Is that an okay word for it? I don't think it really matters what the original intent was, what matters is that for the third game in a row, we have the male human love interest as blond and white. He may not have been planned to be an LI when he was first designed, but he is one now. I find it humorous is all and would just like to see something new. 

 

Plus I may be in a minority but blond, white men aren't really what I tend to find attractive, so three in a row is a little disheartening. It's just all a manner of preference. As long as his romance isn't similar to Anders, I'm sure I'll enjoy it despite his identical colouring!

I'm disappointed that they didn't clarify which genders would be able to romance the confirmed LIs. We can pretty safely assume heterosexuals will, but for people only wanting to romance same sex pairings, we basically are still left in the dark without confirmation on sexuality.

From what they've shown us so far, I'd rather romance Flemeth.

 

I don't know, I'd romance Flemeth any day. Even if would end with the Inquisitor dead in bed and it would basically be a Bad End.   (Assuming Flemeth's female bed mates end up the same way her male ones do). The Inquisitor in question would be in a constant state that can only be described as "terrified but turned on", which would be a very apt description for the entire romance.

Pretty much. Heterosexuality is always given when there's LI announcement without even mentioning if they're available for both genders.

Exactly what I feel No offense, and I dont want to be racist either but, really? White blonde pretty boy AGAIN? And another human LI at that. What happened to the good old strong, manly man? Honestly if it were up to me, I would be much happier seeing my female inquisitor hit it off with the Warden (look how strong and manly he is, not to mention, awesome beard!) Or another race, I mean I'm dying to have a dwarf LI over here lol 

 

But I can see why they pick Cullen though. He's been around since DA:O, witnessed how crazy things can go when either mages or templars jump on the crazy train. He would provide some interesting insight about the Mage and Templar conflict. He was actually pretty cool at the end of DA2 so I have no problem having him around again. Just hope all the terrible things that happened to him before wouldn't turn him into yet another emotional wreck. I don't want to babysit another Anders :/

 

On the female road, yeah I kind of expect Cassie to be our LI. Though this might mean bye bye to Vivi I still want to romance Madame de Fer Anyhow, she's a strong passionate character, this would be interesting.

 

Now if Solas and Sera end up being the other 2 romance options, I will be a little sad :/ yet another game with exclusive human and elf LIs again :/ Other races need love too BioWare Dwarf and Quinari are lovable too damnit! lol

Bearded Warden is white but he's older and not blond and not conventionally pretty boy hot.

 

Vivienne is dark and beautiful and a force of nature.

 

All Qunari at this point seem to be white(?) so the Iron Bull is white too, but much more burly and certainly not conventionally attractive.

 

I'm taking what I can get at this point that isn't the norm, even if it only hits 2 points out of 3!
