I don't really see Varric as a love interest, honestly. I see him turning out pretty high in the "Dead Wife Syndrome" spectrum, if he was.

Before the delay, I was thinking that Iron Bull would be the one-off heterosexual romance (4+1 total, like DA2). I don't actually feel it would make all that much sense for him to be a romance option (because, well... qunari, I guess), but it just seemed like something that would happen.
Now, though, I think there are going to be 6, and I have no idea who's going to be available (beyond Cullen and Cassandra, that is). I suspect Solas, but not Vivienne or Varric. So I guess it would have to be Sera, and two mystery guests.
I worry that Solas, as much as Solas intrigues me, might not be a LI because of his appearance. Not because I don't think he is attractive (I do). He just looks like his character was designed around someone singulary driven and... aloof and dead pan? He screams Owen Burnett from Gargoyles (the blond guy) to me. He looks like Dragon Age's Kreia.

I worry that Solas, as much as Solas intrigues me, might not be a LI because of his appearance. Not because I don't think he is attractive (I do). There'll probably be one. I mean, even though it is a fantasy it still is set in medieval-equivalent times. Deaths happened quite frequently.

Just hoping for something a bit out of the norm for it then. It was actually something I liked about the DA2 romances. There was all kinds of blood, death, and abuse in the romances... but the only person suffering from "dead significant person" syndrome wasn't romancable BECAUSE she knew that HAWKE also had "dead significant person" syndrome.

When people mention past lovers, it makes me think that they're still not over them especially if they mention you were just like them.
Trust me when you bring up your past lovers, crushes etc. it usually means that you aren't over them and it's cruel to take advantage of them since they are just looking for a replacement in their heart instead of finding someone who truly makes them happy.

Well, Cassandra's older brother was killed by blood mages in front of her when she was a child but she seems to have moved on from that.

We MIGHT have to deal with some lingering PTSD from Kinloch Hold... though he seemed to have gotten his shiz together by the end of Act III in Dragon Age 2. No, I am picturing mutual attraction and a pure, fiery hubba hubba times between two grown ass adults.
If anything we might get some, "Oh, no, it isn't PROPER!" from Cullen and Cass... but other than that. It would seem a bit backwards to rewind their getting over it-ness for some romance drama.
