The writers stated that Fenris' romance plot was written under the assumption that Hawke is male, so if there were sexual orientation in DA2, it's likely that Anders would be straight while Fenris would be gay.

I'm just glad Fenris was romance option for female protagonist as well. For some reason I don't like Anders and I always play as a female and only have romances with male LIs.

So do you like tragic romances? I don't. I like happy endings too much. I guess I could be ok with my LI to die for example if we could die together or if he dies first and I might be able to choose some kind of sacrifice option in the end. Like in final battle in DAO. So it would be easier for me to do it because I don't like sacrificing my Warden in the end. I have never done it and propably will ever do it. So I guess I could get my happy ending by dying and I could Imagine that my protagonist and her LI are together in afterlife. Just to be clear I'm not saying that if your partner dies in real life you can have a happy ending with him/her if you die too. I'm just talking about the game. Life in real life is too precious to be wasted.

Could tragic romances have a happy ending? I was just thinking that if you and your LI are separated for certain amount of time for whatever reason or you could  think that your LI is dead for some reason so I think that would be tragic. However when you rediscover your LI you could be united and that way have a happy ending.

DA2 had 5 romances, it wouldn't take that many additional resources (only 20% more!) to turn that into 6.

Also, while David's input certainly is important to the game, it's also important to realize that he's hardly the only writer, and his personal preferences may be put to the side in light of what the team comes to consensus about.

The "20% more" lacks the context of exactly how much that would be.  20% of 10 minutes is 12 minutes.  20% of 100 hours is 120 hours.

Though yes, I do get the impression that David is keen on sharing his opinion on things, and that that doesn't mean that whatever thing he mentioned has 0% chance of being in the game.

I did! I don't know where everyone's getting blonde from. His hair is really ginger.

I looked in the Dragon Age toolset and saw the names of Alistair's hair and eye color when I was playing with it. His hair is listed as dark blond, and his eye color is called hazel. Awakening's Anders had the same colors.

Yeah, it's the second blonde option after the bright blonde (anora/cailan). It looks blonder on hairstyles pulled back, like Anders.

It depends on the mood. I like a good tragic love story sometimes. As long as they're well-written. I like the happy endings too. I don't like Romeo/Juliet or Edward/Bella ((Ted/Robin)) romances where the two characters are too stupid to realize they're toxic to each other.

I'm noticing a theme, at least with DA.

Alistair: Blonde hair, hazel eyes

Zevran: Longish blonde hair, hazel eyes

Anders: Pony-tailed blond hair, hazel eyes

Cullen: Blonde hair, hazel eyes

Okay, I'm calling it.  Someone at BioWare has a type. :P

And where oh where is my dark haired men?

And there's always a black-haired lady to romance, sometimes two in one game. Where are the brunettes, people???  I feel woefully underrepresented. :P

Hmm, this is another trend.

Morrigan: Dark haired mage, slightly mysterious and playing with some iffy magic.

Merrill: Dark haired mage, slightly mysterious and playing with some iffy magic.

The only one that is the odd-lady out is Isabela, mainly because she's not a mage.

And where are all the male PoCs?

For Dragon Age...Yeah, I second this.

Seconded.

Don't compare Merrill to Morrigan. They may be similar, but they are also opposites.

No no, I wasn't trying to compare their personalities at all.  Just their hair color and the fact that they are both a little mysterious and use iffy magic.

Merrill and Morrigan are quite opposite in personality, which I'm glad for.  I still haven't been able to roll a male Warden to romance Morrigan.  Oh and nor pick up the Equal Love mod to do so as a lady Warden either.

That's better.   <_<  :P

There is one non-blonde haired male LI though. Sebastian.

True, but he was a DLC character (optional) that joined in Act 2.   And, depending upon the player, it wasn't satisfactory for various reasons.  Still, you have a point.  :)

None of the blond men even look blond to me, except Zevran. The others all look ginger to light/medium brown, to me.

I guess it depends on the lighting. If you played with the character creator, you'll see that Alistair's hair is blonde. His hairstyle kind of darkens it up as well. If you gave him a ponytail like Anders, the color looks a bit different.

I have yet to see an actual redheaded man.  There has only been one redhead as a LI so far and that was Leliana.

...It's becoming a little clear that the LIs in Dragon Age so far have lacked a little variety in their looks.  It seems like that's changing in Inquisition, so I'll keep looking ahead.  :D

Well.. in that case, it's just the the third hair color option (start with white, Cailan/Zevran blonde.. then the third is dark blonde like Alistair and Velanna).

Ah, I see. I think my perception of Alistair's hair might have to do with the comics and some art making it seem really ginger.

Isn't sex with a Qunari supposed to be super dangerous? Was Sten just messing with Morrigan?

Sten was obviously just trolling Morrigan to stop her from trying to get him to sleep with her. :P
