So I've been thinking about the romances and I was wondering, do you think that the extended development time means that the team might be more likely to implement a 2/2/2 ratio? And, if so, do you think that the fact that we are having NPC romances could be the result of that decision?
Something like: they added in Cullen and a female NPC as romance options because they had additional time and, since there are now 6 LI's they decided to go back to the DA: O approach of having a variety of sexualities represented in the LIs?
It's totally speculation, but I was wondering what people think about it.
My take on it is that, unless the DAI romances are less expensive than DA2's, we should see the same amount of LI's, meaning four. (We should remember that Sebastian was DLC, and thus had separate funds allotted to his romances that wouldn't be part of the base-game.) Thus I find it very unlikely that there be difference sexualities for each character. I believe these characters are: Cullen, Cassandra, Sera, Solas.
However, if we do assume they implement a 2/2/2 ratio, I feel the fairest way would be to make an NPC romances (if there are any) the bisexual pair, and then the companions should be either gay or straight. So, were this the case, my guess would be:
GAY - DHMG - Sera
STRAIGHT - Solas - Cassandra
BI - Cullen - Scribe Girl
