Is Dorian what you're calling DHMG?

Yeah. I realize he's not Dorian officially. I try to call him DHMG most of the time, but in my head he's Dorian. lol

Not what I want, what I think.

 

What I want is the Grey Warden, Cullen, and DHMG as bisexual options. 

 

And, I guess, some ladies as well.....

And maybe BioWare could finally invoke the threesome relationship option.

If I had to guess at this point, I would say:

Male LI's:  Cullen and Solas (and DHMG, if there are 6)

Female LI's:  Cassandra and Scribe Girl (and Sera, if there are 6)

 

If they are not all bisexual, I would say:  Cullen and Cassandra as straight; DHMG and Sera as bisexual; and Solas and Scribe Girl as gay

 

Of course it doesn't get much more speculative than this because it's not really based on anything.

I actually see Sera as lesbian and Scribe Girl as bi, only since the last female NPC romance we had was Samantha who was lesbian so I doubt they'd go the same route twice.

In Origins and DA2, I gamed the system so I had two romances engaged at the same time.

Scribe Girl and Solas: Bi

 

Sera and DHMG/ Dorian: Lesbian/Gay

Cullen/Scribe Girl - Bisexual

Solas/Cassandra - Heterosexual

DHMG/Sera - Homosexual

 

I still actually hope they don't gate by gender, though. Three choices isn't many, especially when some (maybe everyone) will only get one companion LI.

Yeah. Regardless of how many LIs there are, I sincerely hope they stick with the playersexual concept. That way everybody, or at least as many as possible, wins.

I know you're joking, but I think it makes sense if he's Dorian. The name references Oscar Wilde and he's got the "dandy" look.

Personally, I think Solas would be the gay companion if anyone. I don't know why though.

I doubt Leliana will be a LI, but if she is she also probably won't be homosexual this time around. As of DA:O she was bisexual.

I actually would prefer him to be a bit more like Valmont from Dangerous Liasons.  A slightly more nefarious dandy.  I would love to see him and Vivienne interact if he were like this.

Many dandies were straight, but I think it's likely to play into the Oscar Wilde reference, since Wilde is considered one of the most famous dandies.

This thread is really getting my hopes up for homosexual companion characters.

 

But...until Cullen was announced it seemed like the whole forum was operating under the assumption that we had 4 LI's and the 2/2/2 idea was purely a dream b/c  wasn't it announced that the extension of the deadline didn't mean/include an expansion of romance resources? I'm just confused I guess. ...Have the devs really not stepped in and warned us not to get so far ahead of ourselves?   is that a good sign? or a bad one?

 

If the 2/2/2 holds

 

Gay: Sera/Solas

Bi: Scribe Girl/Cullen

Straight: Cass/Grey Warden

 

If Dorian is a mage I don't see Solas and Dorian both being LI's...I know that they have very different characters but I can't see both companion LI's being the same class?

I also hope that if they have this many LI's they can still devote a lot of content to each. ME2 had this many and I personally felt like each character suffered for it/got less time to be fleshed out as a result. (I think Dragon Age has consistently been stronger on that front, so if they are expanding the number I hope that remains the case).

 

Idk...it just seems so unlikely when I consider that they are doubling the number of Inquisitors who would have to record their half of the dialogue, that alone would almost double the work for 4 Li's wouldn't it?

I doubt they'd make both the elves gay. Assuming they were making anyone gay in the first place. So my completely baseless speculation would be similar to yours, only with Solas as the straight dude and the Grey Warden or Dramatic Hands Mustache Guy/Dorian or someone else as the gay dude. Unless Varric is an LI after all, in which case he's probably the straight guy and Solas is gay and then maybe Sera isn't an lesbian and ... argh.

 

At the moment, I don't think we have enough information to make accurate guesses about who the other love interests will be, how many of them there are and if they have different orientations.

If they are going to have 6 LI's I'd hope they would include at least one Dwarf or Qunari.

If there are only 2 NPC with Cullen being one of them, then they would likely be both straight, gay, or bi, so if Cass is straight then Cullen likely to be bi, and if Cass is Bi then Cullen likely to be straight if we were to go by 2/2/2 distribution with 2 LIs being NPC. Seeing as how they want an equal distribution across the board in term of contents.

I feel like that's the assumption a lot of people have. 

 

I kinda want either him or the grey warden to be the gay option with Solas being straight. All the elven LIs have been bis so far, so i kinda want a straight elf this time around.

Personally I'm still hoping all love interests will be bisexual, but for the sake of argument, assuming they'll go with the 2/2/2 or 2/2(depending on 4 or 6), I don't think the "npc li's will be the same orientation" is a safe bet. Sam and Steve were, true, but they were late additions to the series put in specifically to give homosexual romance options. I don't think there's any reason that DAI would or should conform to that.
