I'm not really sure what the deal is.  I've got about 53 million creds, all legit.  I hardly had ANY creds until I got my manifest maxed.

Why would anyone even bother with cheating?  It removes the fun of the game.  I understand that the RNG Troll is a horrible entity, and we all hate it.  However, everyone else had to dig through it, and put up with the Troll.  Why take a shortcut?  Sure, you miss the Troll's trolling, but you also miss the feeling of finally getting that gun you wanted, or finally getting it to X.

If you are going to play the game with others, you might as well have the fortitude to not cheat.

more or less, I enjoyed making my manifest on the xbox and am glad to do it again, but of course I would like to try to keep legitimate all the way through like before

but it can't be helped sometimes, although I can deal with it

  :o

Two wrongs make a right? :D

Fine, I really didn't want to be direct about it, but... to the OP, use them, spend every last credit and enjoy the game while it lasts.

this is probably the reasoning that will allow me to deal with this problem of playing on PC, I'm surprised the game's still going pretty strongly

You sent in a report and covered yourself. I'd think that would be enough to ensure no one's going to hassle you about how many credits you spend.

You sent a report, you did what you could. If no one responds I would take it as a green light.

I'd take them off your hands for you. I need more credits to buy Meth and Arc Pistols.

If you need the credits and don't want to grind for a manifest, sure why not.

You can use a cheat program to remove the extra credits. That's what I did...

 You DO realize using a hack to fix a hack is still considered reverse-engineering and can get you banned right?

If it really bugs you, just section off the credits that you didn't earn

About the report thing, I've reported four people and only one got banned =/

Trust your instincts!

Hmm if unlocking was the fun part of the game, then you would have reset your manifest once it was maxed right?

People have different kinds of fun and whether some guy/girl cheats in this game does not affect me (ie. they're not stealing my allready unlocked guns).

The fool is one who would refuse to enjoy the virtual equipment in this game to its fullest while the servers are still active. ;)

What? Do you really think they would ban me for that? I'm being a good person here though :'(

At this juncture it's highly unlikely. However I'll give a brief example of how/why you would technically. The most obvious is that most modern TOS explicitly prevent any type of reverse-engineering (manipulation) even if it's for a good intention. That's why you have ticket report systems. From a database perspective, imagine that I'm a game administrator. I create a hidden "Z" value to tell me the amount of credits you've accumulated since you first played the game, a hidden 'Y" value that tells me how much credit you've spent store shopping, and a visible "X" value that shows your current credits. Simple math would say that X+Y should always equal Z. If it doesn't that means the player inexplicably lost/gain credits or hacked it. This would show up if I ran a script to check for anomalies. I could also run a script that tells me if your X,Y or Z value has gone up or down an excessive amount.

Luckily, most hackers/glitchers are greedy and/or get stupid. The ones who don't get caught cheated 'within reason' (i.e. they didn't create enough of an anomaly that it showed within bounds of the scripts I ran). Someone like you comes along and tries to alter the X value to correct your credits due to a modded game shows up on my radar could find yourself in trouble. The reason why is because the moment you say that you used CE to change the value I have to assume one of two things: you're telling the truth or I caught you before you could successfully figure out how alter the values correctly. See the predicament?

Best case scenario: You get a profile wipe to the day of the incident or a warning. Worst case scenario: Banishment. Simple solution is to report it. If the game admins get the report and choose not to adjust your account then they can't hold you liable for the discrepancy. Last thing you want to do is admit to it in their forum without adding "jk" or "/sarcasm". :)

I'm only speaking for myself here, but after spending almost 1000 hours on one platform, I'm not spending 700+ on a different platform just to get a comparable manifest.

3 choices (stating the obvious):

- report yourself - peace of mind about your account.

- spend the cash - enjoy all the weapons.

- get someone to steal all your credits back from you

You new people have it easy.  In my day we had to crouch behind a counter or stare at a wall with a smashguard for our URs.  Uphill in the snow both ways..  And we liked it.

Quite your complaining old-young pup. Back my day before your day we had to start on Bronze. Camping was something you did on vacations and we thought Plat-i-num was an R&B group. All the earth was covered in water and there was only one boat... and we hated it.
