When I see pictures of Vivienne all I can think about is how much I just want to take her away and marry her.

Anders' hands in ME2 were just fine, if you ask me. I know people love to repost that Bethany shot, but that's more like an exception to me. And I'm veeery sensitive, when it comes to hands... If you wonder what ugly hands (and arms) look like - go check ME3.
Vivienne? I'm sure, that we're going to see it differently in game.

Bioware always had a weakness when it came to hands it seems, hahah. They don't look that bad...at least they're not DA2 hands. I'm more concerned with how everyone appears to be covered in oil. Maybe Isabela is telling the story of the Inquisitor this time and added the oil in her tale for effect?

We're definitely having much better hand models this time, more detail on the joints and better proportions in comparison with the previous game, though I'd prefer if her fingers we a tiny-bit shorter, combined with the long fingernails they look too claw-like.

I've been trying to determine exactly why it is they look bad/unreal. I think it mainly has to do with the plastic shine, especially on the darker skin. However, I think with the same level of shine the issues would still be present on lighter skin.
If you look down at your own hand you can see the ridges and wrinkles at the joints, which is present here. However, the main difference is the smoothness. Even if our hands were to be slick and shiny with oil, they would still look like flesh. You would be able to see skin cells and diffused lighting that gives it the impression of flesh, rather than plastic.
I don't know. I would say that it's the wrinkles at the joints that spoil the overall effect the most. Real hands do have them, but they just can't make it look realistic enough and they are far too dark and noticable. A hand with smooth fingers would look much better imo.

Complaining about how "shiny" or how "pointy" her hands are is a little bit trivial, no? Considering the major upgrade from DA2 and DA:O...

Until we get more substantial info,I expect many threads like this one popping up...The manicure is impressive though,I believe none mentioned that...

They're an improvement over DA2, but they kinda look like unwrapped Tootsie Rolls. They definitely need more detail.
Actually, I would have said LESS detail. The folds in the fingers are highlighted to severely, making them look larger and more prominent than they should be.
Obviously I can't speak for everyone's hands, but for me the folds look like light scratches or score marks in a relaxed posture, and still remain relatively recessed as a whole when the fingers are bend back (actively, on their own).

I'm not gonna lie, the resemblance is uncanny, and a little unnerving. Not enough for me to avoid the character or avoid tootsie rolls, but the connection will always be there in the back of my mind.
On topic: Aside from the plastic nature of the hand on display, it's miles ahead of DA2's zombie hands. It gives me much hope that some of the other NPC related graphical issues won't make a return to Thedas with the new engine. Like the creepy low-res doll face NPCs in Darktown, with their blurry faces, dead eyes, and blank stares. *shudder*

The only thing that concerns me, is that she wouldn't cry or throw fireballs over a broken nail in battle conditions. Hope First Enchanter's training helps with it.

Better than DAO or DA2 hands, I'll give them that. But I need to see them in-game, in context.
Bethany's, Isabella's, Merrill's hands were all terrifying. Oh God the previous hand thread I made, so many examples
