I'm sitting here trying to block out the questionable noises coming from the hotel room next to mine... And here I've found a really nice fan-made compilation of some of Trevor Morris's works. Personally, I think some of this stuff sounds great, and if it's any indication of what's to come then I'm very excited. I can see the first song on the playlist as the opening to DAI.

What do you think?

So I take it Inon Zur will not be composing for DA:I? I didn't know that. I hope that some of the themes will be carried over though.

Been hoping they'd drop Inon Zur for years.

....Dragon Age Origins main theme was a huge factor in me liking Dragon Age. Seriously that song defines Dragon Age for me. No one go busting Inon Zur...

Still, new music from a new composer would be refreshing. I loved the music in the recent video so that's a good sign.

i've always liked the music from BW games.  I have DO:O, ME1,2,3 on my itunes and listen almost every day at work.  Yes, I'm looking forward to the music from DAI

While I am very fond of Inon Zur's past DA scores, I think Trevor Morris is going to really compliment the new lush environments.

If Trevor Morris did the music for the new trailer then I am absolutely looking forward to more of his work.

I've yet to play a WRPG with a soundtrack I really enjoy. That said, I am looking forward to DAI's soundtrack just to see what this composer does differently compared to the crap Zur made.

Nope, i've already been spoilt by quite a few game soundtracks over the years so it have to be something really incredible for me to get excited, still he seems like a great composer indeed so we'll see.

As I said in another thread, if the music in the landscapes trailer is a sample of what we'll listen, then I think I'll like it. :)

Oh my god yes. When I heard the music on the new trailer I immediately wanted it! I can't wait to hear more! To be honest, I never really cared for the soundtrack to DA. But I LOVE what I've heard so far!

Absolutely. Trevor Morris is a great composer. It seems Dragon Age likes to let a single composer do their entire score so it has a distinct style but Mass Effect uses several. I'm curious to know if that track in the recent trailer was his score. It sounds like his style of music and I thought the song was absolutely perfect for the trailer.

I asked him on Twitter but not surprisingly, he didn't respond. I guess they can't confirm that yet. :crying:

As for music in RPGs, I feel it's critical. One of the few genres where music absolutely must be amazing...especially one that tells emotional stories. Mass Effect tracks stick out in my mind. When I remember most dramatic moments, I can remember the exact songs playing in those moments. I'm hoping to get that in DAI. Inon Zur was a good composer but I seldom remember moments like this in the first 2 DA games. Music can really help convey the emotion behind whatever mood they want.

I would argue it's even more critical in an RPG that involves so much exploration as it seems DAI will be partially aiming at.

Morrowind Theme

Still one of the most memorable exploration themes for me.

The score and sound designs are my favourite part about games.

I wish they would get Ian Livingstone, that guy is a genius. On the other hand, Inon Zur has defined Dragon Age so far. It would be sad if they just dropped him after he didn't even get a live orchestra for DA2...

I had my doubts at first having listened to a few of his works, but after hearing the selection you put up, I believe he is going to do make Inquisition sound more beautiful than it already looks :)

If that was his work in the trailer, then yes. Music is a very important part of the experience for me.

Same. I LOVED the main theme. I've got a few different versions of it on my ipod. Hopefully Morris can come up with something really incredible!!

I agree. So important! I could explore an area for ages if it was set to some great music.

The new music from the trailer was excellent, I'm looking forward to hearing more from Morris. While I would not consider Inon Zur a bad composer, none of the tracks from DA:O or DA2 really stood out to me.

I have enjoyed the trailer music. Certainly more than the DAO or DA2 music. Inon Zur never really stuck out to me.

I agree ^^ The soundtrack to the previous games never held my interest. But the trailer music had my ears bolt upright! I'm really excited to hear more!
