Reminds me of the end of this: http://www.youtube.c...vg0C90FhM#t=121
Wouldn't really bother me either way. Can't see it making too much sense though. Shouldn't he be pretty high in the order to be running around the countryside killing and looting? I can definitely see him having an integral role to the story, but not really a companion. I did like the fact that he's seen the worst each side has to offer, so it should make him more balanced in his approach. I think newer companions to explore would be better.

Well,Cassandra is the right hand of the divine,Vivienne was to be the first enchanter in one of the two circles in Orlais, even if he is a high ranking templar(since we don't know what became of him after Kirkwall) I can see him join an influential and powerful faction like the inquisition, for the sake of protecting the interests of the templars alone.
But I can see your point about newer companions though 3/9(if Cullen is included) is a relatively small number of returning characters to me.In fact the only returning companion is Varric considering that Cassandra(and Cullen if he's included)were npc's in the previews games.

Honestly i dont know why is he so popular. He has two scenes in DAO in circle of magi. And he has pretty small role in DA2(Ending and 2-3 quests), Also you can talk to him couple of times before he starts repeating himself. Honestly i would be more excited for Sandal and Bodahn. I dont want him as companion, we know him already plus he is not that interesting. Also he is a tank. The only positive thing out of his character is that he is Templar and will provide different view on Mages vs Templars conflict. Bu then again, you could have him be a NPC in some city or you could have a elite Templars in your headquarters to keep you safe, who you could talk to.
*edit* -- never mind. I'm being a dick, and I shouldn't be. Sorry.
From what I saw of Cullen, he started as a good guy who was fairly sympathetic towards mages but the Uldrick incident twisted him into a firm anti mage by the end of DA:O. In DA2, he started pretty firmly anti mage but was able to become more moderate as the game went on. To be fair, I think he's had the most character development of a none companion in the DA games, I wouldn't mind seeing him return as either a companion or a regular NPC, but I won't make a big deal if he's not.
Cullen is pretty bland to me. Don't really care to have him as a companion.
Any characters that sparkle will get the axe.

I don't mind Cullen being present in the game, although I'd rather not have him as a companion personally. I always found him to be pretty uninteresting. I'd be much happier if Cassandra, "Feathers" and the Qunari filled our warrior quota, although I'm not overly keen on Iron Bull either. But I'll wait to hear more info about him before I judge the character further.
The last part is... debatable. Too generic for my tastes.
I kinda meant in general. So far the male companions are quite promising as it is.

You forgot BEG, how could you!

There is just so many! Varric is also a potential!
If the character creation is good unlike DA2 and I can make a good looking male I'll definitely create male to gay romance them.
I wouldn't bet on moustache guy being a magister, or even a companion.I kinda meant in general. So far the male companions are quite promising as it is.

Finally a point where we agree completelyThere is just so many! Varric is also a potential!

. The DA2 CC was really, really bad. Though to be fair the CC in Bioware games aren't that good in general.
Yeah I know.. but I can hope! I wanted a companion from Tevinter for longest time and if by chance he is a renegade Magister that'll be just awesome. The only thing really wrong with Tevinter is its slavery, take that away and I don't see how its any less good than Orlais.
DA2 CC was horrible! At least default female Hawke was nice but even she was not that great, just decent.
I think a rating site voted Aion to have the best CC. I checked it out and its quite deserving. The diversity and beauty of CC was breathtaking!

Uh, if you'd knew how much time i spent near the Mirror of Transformation...
No, I don't want him as a companion. I don't see the appeal in Cullen.
My Warden was a mage and he didn't really impact my Warden's life during the origin. I come back to the Circle tower and rescue him. That's his story in Origins. In Dragon Age 2, he pretty much uses "Uldred did this" as a counter for everything. It's not like my Hawke was asking the templars to free all the mages, he was just saying to treat them better. But Cullen always pulls the "Uldred card" to support his argument.
Hawke: I think Pancakes are better than Waffles
Cullen: Well you weren't there in the Uldred incident, so Waffles are better.
Hawke: That doesn't even make se..
Cullen: Uldred.
This is pretty much Cullen the entire game. Except for a convenient last-minute change of heart when he turned on Meredith after seeing Hawke & Co decimate half of the templar force.
Unless Cullen shows character beyond the "let's treat mages badly" , I don't want him around. The Inquisition isn't about talking sides, meaning I don't want a hardcore templar fan in my ranks.

You too? I think I have too many cosmetic mods. ![]()
My main issue with the CC was the poor lighting.
@Archer Well, it is a few years since the events at Kirkwall. I think the DA team has done a good job at character progression for him. If he suddenly turned around being completely pro-Mage, then I would call BS. He isn't a huge fan of mage freedom, but he seems to have more middle ground that I thought he would have. Perhaps, now seeing that the Templar Order is just as flawed as mages are, he'll be more of a moderate. Oh and you know him and Vivienne are probably going to butt heads big time.
To all: If you have a post you want to get rid of from public view, that's what the hide button is for under your post. ![]()
I know this is WAY off topic, but today, every time I see this thread title my brain goes into Transformers mode. I keep seeing 'Peter Cullen' and wondering who Optimus Prime is going to voice in DA:I.
Now that's something I'd like to see!
