Well all, my first weekend diving Cooper River...surprisingly I was the first to come up with teeth. I have mixed feelings about this experience, though I now know for certain that I CAN dive in blackout conditions and not end up killing myself. You never know till you try it lol. My findings on my first dive in those conditions I also managed to bring back two teeth, though I lost my old faithful mask. Ye shall be missed, mask. Day Two is tomorrow.

I searched google images, and yeah - all I found were all these impressive pictures of shark/gator teeth. Almost no pictures of the underwater environment, tho - story time?

HAPPY N7 DAY! 

 

Not sure if any of you are following THBS, but they've had rolling unveilings this entire week, including a Tali statue and another (fake) leather jacket (which I'm actually kinda interested in). However, the creme de la creme is the new Litho (of course) released today. Really hate how these Lithos still pull at me - I was going crazy for Saga and the last N7-day Litho, and got over both fairly quick. But this one has a really unique art style, and a relatively nice portrayal (all your buddies signed your helmet! ...cuz, you know, you dead)...don't particularly like the background (teal/orange?!?), but meh. Still seriously considering it, but they also hiked the price up ($60, 18x24, signed, numbered), probably due to using an unaffiliated artist...but then again, they also released a mini ($25, 11x14, 'unlimited') alongside it on the same day...

Yeah not a litho I'm interested in, not interested in buying any more period. I did cave in and finally buy an Elite Hoodie during this sale and the N7 day exclusive tee. Looks great. Came to $111 cad though, so expensive but I hardly spend any money on clothes and love my N7 hoodie to death. My original is very worn out and the black dye has turned brown in quite a few spots so its time for a new hoodie. 

 

The faux leather jacket is interesting but not really my style. I'm more interested in the tactical jacket. Need a fall weather resistant jacket for a long time. The price and the fact that half the money is for a hoody that I could care less for is turning me off. If it was just the jacket for even $75 sure but $128 is too much. Maybe if its on sale for 25% off some time.

Own the Elite - love it, except you know how the zip-line is covered up by a velcro strip? - don't let that velcro get anywhere near the N7 stitching...it will tear it up mercilessly. Meaning, every time you set it down, pick it up, hang it, wash it, dry it - be aware. :/ (deja vu - have I explained this before?)  ...if I ever get a new hoody, I'll probably rock the Mk2 ...or maybe just get a nice Fallout hoody - I like 'Taste the Radiation' quite a bit, honestly.

 

But yeah, overall, everything (and I do mean practically everything) just seems too expensive these days... *shrugs*

Ive had my eyes on the NCR hoody for awhile now.

 

The mkII is definitely awesome, Ive been rocking the original release of the black N7 hoody. Never ceases to surprise how often people go out of their way to proclaim how awesome it is. Just felt like something different so went with the elite, I'll definitely still buy a mkII at some point regardless. 

 

I do remember you going on about the velcro heh, I will be vigilant! Thanks.

I'm somewhat ambivalent about the new litho'.  The habitual collector in me wants it, but actually I don't really feel drawn to the art style all that much and the doubling in price and halving in scarcity over the past three-four years doesn't make it attractive to me either; I may have still gone for it but I felt they really eroded any remaining "special" feeling that the ME lithographs had when they released an enormous amount of frequently not very interesting artwork during ME3's tenure, so it all feels a bit tired to me unfortunately.

 

I guess the same is true of DA:I, too: during DA2's reign, there was again an awful lot of artwork that wasn't very good being churned out, so I'm feeling very cautious now.

 

No doubt I'll still get sucked in a bit!

 

Currently feeling a bit peeved as Bioshock is my current thing, but they've re-launched the Irrational Store in recent weeks for European customers and compared to the US/RoW version, it's terrible.  The stock is limited, and it seems that 90% of what they do have is out of stock anyway, and if that's not bad enough the prices are insane (three pack litho, $45 in the US, £72 in the UK) so I am Officially Unimpressed.  I guess I could nag someone in the US to order for me and mail it over, but it's a bit of a faff.

 

Oh yeah, and the support is terrible compared to both Treehouse and whoever runs Irrational/2K's US branch.  Several days after asking if there were any chances of a restock I got a rather blithe "we are unable to answer your question" in response.  The only thing they could have added to make the answer a more complete experience would've been to stick "whatevs" on the end of that comment.

Sooo...moar new Lithos?

 

The Bioware store released 3 Lithos a while ago (not counting N7 day), two being DA2 themed, and the third being a very stylized depiction of 'Wrex'. Now, to add to the mix, they've just released a 'Liara' - ME3 ver. Took them long enough, though I suppose the release of Aria way back when got an Asari on the 'Litho map'. I kinda like it, but it definitely seems to be missing something...certainly doesn't help that the top of her head is cropped off.

 

 

 

 

 

Then there's the Bethesda store. They've kept a fairly constant stream of Litho content, but on the subject of the Fallout series, they seem to take a bit more time. Their last release was 'Raising the Flag', a stylized interpretation of the Iwo Jima Memorial - personally, didn't think much of the Litho - too much 'stuff' going on. However, they just released a 'Power Armor' screenprint - pointedly not a lithograph or giclee, apparently. Not sure how I feel about this one, either. It seems like almost every Fallout Litho they've released has featured power armor, which I suppose is fine as its fairly iconic of the series, but it begs the question how 'useful' this piece is...especially considering it's just a large explosion with a vaguely humanoid form in the mix. I can't even tell what's going on with the right hand/arm - there's a flag involved, but otherwise...?

Nope. Early ME2 was Garrus/Jack/tIM. Late ME2 was Miranda/Tali/Thane/Grunt/Legion. ME3 was 'Archangel'/ Aria/Anderson/Prothean. The rest are all scenic, afaik...  Edit: There were some convention-related releases that included Garrus/Tali/Liara - those were supposedly available in the Store, but not positive...

 

P.S. Need to revamp the Litho thread...

Yeah, there were two previous Liara lithos, though not official ones. The first was from the cover of one of the brief series of comics they did a few years back, the other was that convention one you mentioned. Can't remember if Treehouse sold them, I think they did, but I ended up getting them from Forbidden Planet.

Not sure about this one, same reason, the top of her head being cut off, though I think it's mostly as I'm just not really in a Mass Effect mood at present.

Kinda not sure about it, honestly...a bit too much, imho. The stripe also looks very reflective, which I guess would be good when out in the rain/snow, but meh...

The scarf is kind of cool looking but no, that would be ridiculous. I need a new coat and have been looking for one. The fact that its weather proof and you can remove the lining and hood means its a fall jacket aswell which I also need. Win win for me. The strip does look a bit shiny and it doesn't appear to be as black as I would like, more charcoal I guess. Perhaps it will look a bit cheap but won't know till you have it. Anything is better then what I have now, a bulky, worn, black winter jacket with velcro that no longer works on the zipper cover near the bottom so it flaps around. The price is pretty good for a jacket.

The women's parka has a furry hood!   Though I won't be getting it, I already have more coats and jackets than I know what to do with.

I think I'll be getting me a Scout Regiment coat (from Attack on Titan) first lol.  Won't be too warm but where I live that is only an issue for maybe one month of the year and if I'm lucky this year, that one month will be bright and sunny and windless and feel like Fall anyways!

Well I just ordered the parka, $152 usd total, the most Ive ever spent on a single clothing item. I'm alittle nervous about it but well see when it comes. Hopefully it ships before the holidays, my N7 day t-shirt with elite hoddie is a week past the estimated ship date now, hopefully this one doesn't do the same. Want my elite!

Hope the parka turns out to be a good one!  What would be even better is if it had a mod-style roundel on the back in N7 colours, but maybe I've just watched Quadrophenia too often.

 

I've just ordered the leather inquisition bag.  I must admit I was hesitant, it's $180 and I'm skint, but it's apparently real leather and that's about the price of a decent quality handbag, so I figured that's my Christmas present from Michele sorted out.  She can fill it with chocolates if she wants to add her own touch!

Vom, that kind of spoils the fun of discovery on Christmas Day!  ~shakes head~  That's about like me telling my husband to go pick up the grill he wanted and then telling him it's for a friend lol....  I have no clue what I'm getting this year though.  If I'm lucky my mom will make me a batch of fruitcake cookies just for me (I've never been that lucky before!) and honestly, that's all I really want for Christmas this year

No idea what I've gotten yet (obviously), but I did successfully sell 3 more lithos - so just the custom framed ones (that I'll likely never sell at this rate) and the DS2 mini-3-pack left. Hope everyone is doing ok and relatively filled with the joy of living.

She did get me some other stuff! But we're as bad as each other when it comes to choosing gifts, so I chose some of my own.

I also made the mistake of weighing myself before the Christmas eating frenzy and I've already put on lots of weight. Arse. Well, I have a frugal January to look forward to.

And I haven't sold any lithos because I'm a hoarder, though my art folder is going to start getting very fat.
