I've just noticed that locking a thread bumps said thread. When a moderator locks a conversation that was already in the second page of the forum section, the final post makes the thread to appear in the first page again. IIRC, this didn't happen in the old forums: the locking didn't cause a bumping. This was very useful in order to keep the first page clean, in my opinion.
The locking shouldn't resurrect the thread

I think it only updates the thread when the mod adds a response or a reason fr the lock (which is most cases).
I agree though, that it somewhat defeats the purpose.

Actually it did happen in the old forums.
Personally, I kinda like it. Let's me see what dumb antics people went around to get the thread locked and gives me lots of lulz.
