Is the BPP really better than the Hurricane?

I just landed on Mars and decided to go with the BPP until I could get a stability mod, at which point I was planning on switching over to the Hurricane. But then I looked up the stats and lo and behold it appears as if the BPP actually does more damage than the Hurricane. I was shocked, maybe because I have mostly looked at MP stats.

So is the BPP really better than the Hurricane?

(One area where the Hurricane is clearly superior is in the sound it makes. Something like a baseball card slapping on the spokes of a bicycle. The BPP sounds like the Locust with its high pitched whistle.)

At first I was like "Aww yiss, here we go" but am disappointed that it is yet another story topic.

So here's my question op. Does it matter? Story mode, even on insanity is downright laughable. You could go through it with an avenger 1 and nothing would change or be lost.

Why post in a topic that you don't care about?

To answer the question in the original post, the BPP was significantly better than the Hurricane in SP, at least until the last patch updated the Hurricane's damage. BPP is still better against armor, the main advantage the Hurricane has is consistent recoil.

Not only did you say that you are disappointed that this is a "story topic," which it isn't, you go on to say the question doesn't matter. So if you want to say that you care about answering questions you don't care about with asinine comments about the Avenger I, then go right ahead.

I was under the impression the BPP still had better DPS than the Hurricane. However, I really hate the kick of the BPP whenever the AP shot goes off, so I always stuck to the Hurricane. I've always aimed better with the Hurricane than the BPP, so I kill better with it too.
