I'm 90% certain I won't like a single companion in DA:I

Cassandra and Varric will be in my party most of the time. I loved their scenes in DA2. I'd find it hard to split them up.

 

I'm undecided on the mage. Vivienne is interesting because of her devotion to the circle, especially since my Inquisitor is going to be less tolerant towards mages than the Warden and apostate Hawke. Solas will need to prove himself. I intend to be practical in this game - accept (or force) service from people I may not like much, including party members. I prefer some disagreement and conflict than being nice to everyone so they'll like me.

 

As for the Inquisitor, I think I'll play a rogue. I can't even remember the last time I played that class in an rpg. A rogue is perfect for morally dubious stuff.

I'll leave my jugment for the others once we know more, but I get the feeling Iron bull, the bearded warden and Sera, the elf, will be the ones I will use the most.

Well, Vivienne is a given. Probably Varric, too. Solas seems a good bet. Probably those three.

Varric will always be in my party, unless it's a certain companion quest and I need the spot.  He is what I'm familiar with and  have grown to love.  Just have to wait and see what comes.

A tank, a damage dealing mage and a rogue. It might vary, but since I always take the healing role from my dumb AI companions I need lots of DPS in my party.

no idea who companions are, so no.

 

besides it would be nice to see combat mechanics first, because this is what matters for me. Who knows maybe i will have party both efficient and fun to play with.

Yes, I see myself with the blonde elf girl as my honey bun-bun. The grey warden as my grizzled military buddy. And a solid mix of Cassandra and varic.

For me it tends to be, 1st warrior I meet (cos they're usually the best tank), the healer, and my LI. And if my LI overlaps with either of those roles, whoever is the most interesting.

 

So from that, I guess if would probably be Cassandra, and two people I currently don't know. Though, if Mr. Grey Warden is a companion, and a warrior/tank (which his design looks like her might be), I will probably swap him in for Cassandra. Cos I don't currently like her very much, whereas Grey Wardens are just cool.

 

What mage i bring with me will be the hardest choice, since I'm currently planning on being a female elf mage myself, and I feel like I like both Viv and Solas already - tho if Solas is a LI it'll probably be him lol.

Varric was a staple in my DA2 playthroughs, and he'll resume that position. I don't really have an opinion on the others yet, I'll probably play a mage first... so warrior and Sera.

If I like DA:I as much as I liked DA:O, there's a good chance all my companions will appear in my party at some point lol I used to go around with every companions combo possible and just listen to every single one of their awesome banters.

 

Though so far, I like Vivienne, so she will probably in my first party. Second slot go to Varric I think. I will reserve the last spot till we know the rest of our companions

I just find it amusing that someone who figures he won't like any of the companions is still following the game.

Just because I'm certain I will hate all of the companions (I'm hoping I will like the grey warden guy) like I do with DA2's cast doesn't mean i don't want to play DA:I.

I tend to switch around, and I'll use different teams on whim and according to circumstance.  But for the main team, well, it depends...

 

Solas is on the team no matter what.  Cole is on the team if he's available, otherwise Varric.  I think the Warrior spot is going to either the Grey Warden or Cassandra.
