Thinking about it, I've never had an all-male or all-female party in either DAO or DA2.
In DAO I played a male Warden, but he travelled with Alistair, Morrigan, and either Leliana, Wynne, Dog, Shale, etc etc depending on the situation.
In DA2 I played a female Hawke, but she travelled with Varric, Bethany(depending on the time in game), Isabella, and either Aveline, Sebastian, etc etc depending on the situation.
I did have an all-rogue party in DA2 for a time(Archer Hawke, Sebastian, Varric, Isabella).
Hmm.

You'll have the female rogue elf so an all lady party is possible.
Intriguing. She best not be like that mutant Tallis. Can't be dealin' with that.
If she is, I will sacrifice her to the great demon and do demony things.

I usually play an Elf Rogue, and my preferences for NPC character's character (personality) rather than race, class, or gender. While I do like to keep my party balanced whenever possible, I will often choose character over what may be more logical or prudent decision.
So... I'll just have to wait and see.

Cassandra will most likely be at my side all the way through, and I can see Varric being there too. One of the mages will come with me as well, as I have a traidtion of favouring one mage over the other and taking that one with me all the time.

I tend to take companions out equally, unless they're truly horrid.

Nope. Don't know most of them yet.

I like to try and mix it up. Though whoever I'm romancing (or planning to) will probably go out on every mission.

Probably:
- 1st Warrior
- 1st Rogue
- 1st Mage, or next non-mage if my character's a mage
That's how it's usually worked before. That said, after three years I'm dying to learn more about Cassandra, and given their history I'd probably have to bring Varric too. Too bad that doesn't leave much room for new characters but I'll almost certainly play more than once so whatever.

Right now I would take bald elf mage, grey warden, and Cole. (Obviously this could change as we get more info.)

Awwwww... now I kind of hate the fact that there are 9 companions... I don't know how will I ever try them all.
DA2 only has 6 and even if I try to use them all, Aveline and Merril always get left behind.
If Cullen is in, I'll definitely take him ![]()
I usually play warriors and take another warrior, rogue and mage, so:
Cassandra/Cullen
Sera (I'll try someone new before Varric)
Bald elf
Grey warden probably won't see much use because I won't need another warrior.

Have no idea.

I plan to play a rogue the first time around as I haven't done that for my first play through in the other games.
Tank: Cassie or Beardy McWarden-Dude
Lock picker: me
DPS: Blondie Elf, Baldy Elf, or another
Healer: whoever is the healer, hopefully Baldy Elf. I don't like the sound of Viv.

Nope. I don't plan anything about a video game ahead of time. I just play it and decide as I go.

For my first playthrough I'll probably use any character we've seen in previous games. So definitely Varric and possibly Cassandra.

I'll most likely take Varric, Grey Warden guy and the bald elf.

No, I tend to use all companions more or less equally in both Mass Effect and Dragon Age games. From a story perspective it never makes sense to have the protagonist always going out with the same two squadmates / companions, while the rest remain aboard ship or in camp. For that reason I like to rotate them in and out and use them all for different quests or missions.
