Varric, though I might feel less obligated if he isn't the only companion I like again this time.
Liking the sound of Vivienne too, and beardy Warden and blonde elf chick if they actually exist.

If blonde elf chick (very creative nickname, by the way) is the kind of character I'm thinking/hoping she is, then she'll be a favourite.
Right now it looks like it'll be Vivienne, Cassandra and Varric along my rogue Inquisitor,
Ofc, once the other companions are officially revealed and I get the chance to actually know them better things may change.
I will be taking Varric with me everywhere. Not only for his superior crossbow and lockpicking skills, but my Inquisitor will also need the protection from his chest hair!
As to the others, I tend to take a sword and shield warrior (probably Cassandra) and a Spirit Healer. I am not sure about Vivienne. She is supposed to be called "Madame de Fer" or The Iron Lady - makes me think of Margaret Thatcher (
)
Speaking of Varric, I wonder if you gave him the piece of the idol in DA 2 if it will affect his personailty/story/whatever or not.
That's an interesting idea, and I'd love to see that decision have some sort of effect on him, but I doubt that the game could realistically go beyond a passing reference and maybe a few extra lines.
I'll likely stick with the trinity and have a rogue lockpicker, if I'm not one myself.
BUT... do we know 100% that Cassandra is a tank because in Dawn of the Seeker she's a DPS machine. I know it's just a movie but the lore lends itself to her being DPS and not a tank role.
At the moment, Cullen. I like to bring LI along to see how they react to things.
You can specialize her as you wish. You can choose of she uses S&S or two-handed weapons, tank or DPS.I'll likely stick with the trinity and have a rogue lockpicker, if I'm not one myself.

At the mement I'm thinking on taking elf girl, baldy elf and varric. ![]()
I rotate them depending on what the missions are about. I prefer to have as many human males in my party as possible ![]()
I usually default to the "good" party members. Which might mean Cassandra, Varric and... maybe Dorian if he exists. Though I try to cycle in most party members at some point.
It depends , first time I played DA2...I mostly walked around with a male harem.Varric , Anders and Fenris.
I feel like I missed a lot because Isabela ran away , taking Fenris everywhere wasn't such a bright idea ( stuck between rivalry/friendship )...I probably also missed tons of great banter etc..
I guess if I know the type of mission , I'd bring companions who would have something to say .Chantry = Cassandra , Mage = Vivienne , Bald Elf mage etc...
I have a soft spot for Varric , he's so easy going , can bullshit his way out of trouble , and later can live to tell the tale.So he's probably going to be The rogue. But then there's Sera , and she seems crazy , which is always good. Why rogues are always the most fun?!
For now , the one I'm not really liking is Cassandra .I don't really like agressive people...And she's all for leaving the village to burn at Crestwood.
I don't know anything about the Grey Warden , well he has a nice beard.I'm also not too fond of the wardens , "sacrifice " blablabla , but we'll see.
I'm curious about the Iron Bull , and Dramatic Hands Mustache Guy ...they look quite interesting , but I'm afraid the Iron Bull might be a little too bloodthirsty. And it's possible they won't be companions .
Thing is it seems to me some of our companions will have political agenda , and it's the kind of things I can't be bother with.
I will probably try to have them all in my party at some point , and I guess see how much they amuse or annoy me.
hmm, varric , who ever my li is, and a healer , probably. but i normally take everyone at some point for banter.
Varric and Cassandra will probably be part of my party all the time in my first playthrough. Just like Varric and Aveline were in DA2 or Alistair/Leliana were in DAO.
I do not like to change my party members that much, unless I really do not like them or I'm trying to min/max their meter. I tend to stick to a formation only swapping a character for their personal quests.
Well, hard to say at this point. I usually rotate my party to get a feeling of how everyone gets along with each other. To hear different party banter. And to try out their abilities.
But I also always have some favourites who just come along more often than others. Those depend on the character I'm currently playing, for example what class he/she is, what race, and which morality he/she has ... and of course who the current LI is - those will of course be favoured to get as much out of them as possible. xD
It's already decided the roles that i would want in the party, that may change if i really like a character or if they can assume more than one role. (ex: Cassandra being a tank or dps )
I'll avoid ideologs (characters like Anders or Fenris), mad people (Merrill, Sten), and characters with their own agenda (Morrigan).
I'll choose people who understand the threat is greater than themselves, their race or their faction... If possible.
I know that all the companions haven`t been revealed but have already got an idea who you will take out the most or will you try everyone ?
-Iron Bull if he will be a companion, if not any other warrior
-blondie elf girl
-mage, probably bald elf
If the rumors are truly, the Grey Warden will likely be taken out most of the time. Depending on if there's another Rogue Archer, I know I won't be taking Varric that often(Sorry people, never found him that interesting), and I most likely won't take Vivienne out too often. I will likely use the male elf mage in her place, unless the warrior class is as useless as it was in DA2, then I will need 2 mages(If I'm not one already).
No frigging clue, don't know if I would enjoy Cassandra or Varric since I only enjoyed Varric when he interracted with Isabella and Merrill.
So I'm gonna find out who I want to bring when I play the game.
