I didn't steal the kill, I nearly gave him a soldiers death before he kills himself out of depression.

That's the only proper answer.

First come first serve, there is no such thing as kill stealing in ME3 MP if you ask me.
I realize this might come off as very "anti - cooperative", but my goal is always to finish the match as fast as possible ![]()

I just shoot things, although I felt a bit sorry yesterday when I shot way too many Geth that our Shadow meant to decapitate.

My philosophy is that if I get the kill, then by definition it was mine. Unless you were a Shadow - then I totally robbed you and I'm so sorry.

Well the shadow does literally appear out of thin air. What's bad is when you see a batarian run all the way up to a guy and just when he winds up somebody pops the cap.

Okay, okay... admittedly I do get a personal joy out of head shotting a target just as a Bat is about to crowd surf or a Krogran is about to release the pimp hand. It's not a total kill steal however because I leave the corpse behind for them to loot. ![]()
I wonder if that Krogan poet would feel the same about his Asari girlfriend if he knew that she always cast Stasis.

Be sure to use a Javelin if you steal kills, the more damage you do with the last blow, the more kill points you get.
Hilarious when you do a 15k damage headshot to a marauder with one bar left of health and get 50% of the kill points ![]()
But he deserved it.

Wise men use Real Guns. Nobody is gonna steal your kills when you're shooting stuff in the face with the Claymoar or Javelin.
Sadly, spawn DR can get in the way of that. But even the few times it does, real men that sport Real Guns are not upset by seeing another Real Gun take the killing shot. On the contrary, they approve. If, on the other hand, the other guy is not using Real Guns, then the problem is far worse than just kill stealing...

I got accused of kill stealing when using the Shadow.
Invariably those who accuse others of kill stealing are just frustrated with their low scores and inability to play at the same level as more experienced players.

My thought is if someone takes my kill I should focus less on complaining and more on learning to kill faster.

The way ammo application kills work it will also attribute some kills to the last damage to the target. High damage weapons like the Javelin or BW will a lot of the time give the kill up to sustained fire weapons if the Javelin or BW is using Phasics, AP, or Warp rounds.

Normally I'm the first person to say "I don't care who kills it so long as it's dead." But I just played two games in a row where we had Targets on wave 10. I already had my missile launcher out in case it was Targets. I rushed the spawn and a fraction of a second before I fired some lowlife maggot fired a missile over my shoulder. Two different PUG's and both times there could be no question that they knew I was about to fire a missile and tried to beat me to it.
Personally I would be glad just to have PUGs who do missile targets.

There is no such thing as kill stealing in a co-op game.
If you've ever played in a team with 3 Juggs, there's no way to score WITHOUT hitting the enemies they insist on heavy meleeing!

Sometimes I feel bad for them so I put a couple of rounds in the enemy to speed things up but leave the kill for the Juggy.

You mean that if I kill an enemy just with the ammo damage the kill goes to whoever hit it before me? Uhm... Never knew this... And never noticed. Are you sure? It seems a bit strange

Not that it matters, it's curiosity mostly
One hundred percent. Try it on a stasis sniper if you want. Stasis will get a ton of kills on infantry, it does like 50 damage.
The way I tested it was pretty lolstupid because on console that's all we have but with AP rounds on the Claymore AIU. I would melee a husk down to a sliver of health then blast with the Claymore. Melee always got the kill because AP rounds got applied first. Got a friend to come it and take the enemy down to a sliver of health and whatever damage was last done got kill credit, even lol Tac Scan if it's the latest attributable source of damage. This is why you see late kills with Recon Mine, etc when you've detonated them several minutes prior. Ammo kills are unattributable sources of damage.
