Some people just run funny. I remember one of the highlights of watching 24 was laughing at Kiefer Sutherland running

Cant wait to be blown away by E3 showing of femquisitor. :)

The colors of that outfit were, I guess, to signify the brilliant splattering of colors for the Orlesians. At least I think that is what its supposed to signify.

Anyways.....hey come with me to get something from this collector...oh he was expecting us....twice....once on a planet that required a trip on Normandy and again....a trip to a hunting grounds. Sweet, wonder whats next in that trilogy (if there is one). :)

Femshep does have her elbows too far out, stamina running in military would want elbows close to body to allow more durable distance running. The way maleshep runs.

I know femhawke walks with a wiggle but I enjoyed it. Sorry, I'm the typical male in that regard.

I wanted a dress too, but weren't one of you complaining about male and female outfits magically morphing into something else before?

I'm fine with my female character wearing pants. Just not horrendous ones that were clearly designed for a male. Tallis' outfit actually looks nice.

Question is.

Were they really designed ONLY for a male?

Yes, this outfit was specifically designed for male Hawke and then converted for the female counterpart to save resources. One of the devs stated that in the MotA thread, I don't remember which. John Epler maybe?

Ah yes, feminism: the wild audacity of wanting to be included and treated like people. Careful there buddy, this threads full of it.

This is actually a much better idea for any kind of RPG games with a character creation system (Which most RPG games have).

Keep the main character hidden in a suit armor, in shadows, in a hood, in large baggy clothes.

Keep the main character silent, let other important figures in the same game speak, in this case, Cassandra.

Wouldn't that just make it look like the game is about Cassandra and there's some weird guy in a hood travelling with her?

Not that there's anything wrong with such a game.

Yay! 100th page finally...that took a little while. :)

Soon be The class 101 page, opening for new semester.

That weird silent walking guy is creeping after Cass then.

Cassandra already seems to be one who is at equal standing with the inquisitor, of cocurse, I have not yet played the game and seen how everything evolves from you just appearing out of a explosion to becoming the inquisitor.

I also think it depends how this silent, armored, clothed person is generally presented. Could be seen ordering for a charge, although still silent but in the same, typical "CHAAARGE" kind of stance.

Bodylanguage says a lot more than words afterall (Maybe).

I ran out of likes too fast....ugh....need a thread stating, More Likes! More Likes!

Anyways, seems to me we might get femquisitor in E3 now. :) I dont know why I got that in my head. Now if it fails to happen ill go in a corner and cry myself to sleep.

:) Nah, not really that severe. But I wouldnt be happy about it. Bound by Blood when it first came out took way to much digging. I said this before though. :) At least Bioware doesnt require much digging to find that out. Which I am suspecting wont be necessary. I have my hopes up, waiting to get dashed.

That might show up in E3 or after. I dont think any of that info besides Cullen and Cass are known.

I showed off DA:O and DA2 to my cuz last week. She really likes femhawke, Bethany, Isabella and especially Merrill. She hasn't seen much but I allowed her to make someone. Femhawke that looked like her gf.

She was interested cause of seen the femhawke.

Ugh! Annoying phone and its whacked out whackiness! Sometimes I hate it.

I think female characters aren't an afterthought to the main writers at least. It seems to be a different story for some designers and marketers.

But I could also make the same complaint about how, say, specializations were implemented in DA2. The game designers put them in, but the writers did not. And the game reflects the general half-assed approach going on here.

Not acknowledging if you're a ranger isn't on the same level as completely ignoring female players. Though in the DA2 trailer you can clearly see that Hawke (straight white male Hawke of course) is a blood mage.

Yeah I don't get that. Also female Hawke is the only woman wearing men's clothes at that party or in the world. If she were trying to fit in like she should have been, she'd have worn the same noble dress as the NPC women. Otherwise why even do it? Why not let us keep our robes/armor?

Varric too, of course.  And Morrigan. And Alistair, I gather.  Leliana is back as well. Although Corrine Kempa's IMDB page doesn't list her as returning, so that's odd.

But yes, we know more about who'll be voicing the NPCs than the female protagonist.

So, in a game from a company which touts its diversity and inclusiveness at every turn, we know what the male Inquisitor may sound like, and we know what a lot of the NPCs may sound like.

But, and bear in mind that this is in a thread calling for more information about the female Inquisitor options, we still don't know what she sounds like.  It's a valid observation.

Quality of the voice acting has more to do with who I might play after my first game than their gender. Worked like that for female Shepard who was far more agreeable to the ears than Mark Meers (although to his credit he stepped up in 3 where as Jennifer Hale just sounded like she wanted to go home).

While you can change the look, you can't change the voice , so that's a very important factor for a PC of either gender.

So true. There's a lot riding on the voice actor quality here! Though I'm confident that since we get two per gender at least one of the female voices will be spectacular. :D

About the Bethesda trailer, it's my experience that when change is pushed for within a medium (for example games or comics), change usually comes in different waves. The first wave will be those who push for change for a long time, acting as a vanguard by building up a strong fanbase consisting of gamers/readers/viewers that crave change. Bioware or DC Comics could be seen as examples of this (DC has historically had more female-lead comic titles, Bioware created interesting, deep female characters).

Then there's the second wave, of those who feel where the wind is blowing, or who hadn't given much thought about for example diversity before, but become inspired enough to join in and create for example more nuanced female characters or put them at the center of their promotional material, like Bethesda with their new, awesome trailer or Gearbox putting 2 instead of 1 female playable character (out of 4) in their upcoming game, or Dynamite Comics asking feminist writer Gail Simone to do a (soft) reboot of Red Sonja (which by now has probably had more female comic artists and writers involved in the project than all of DC Comics in the last 10 years).

We all love Bioware for being part of the first wave, by creating diverse games and being instrumental in bringing about change, which makes it difficult for us to understand why they can't be part of the latter. I'm not trying to act as a apologist for their sake; I actually felt let down when their latest trailer only featured the male Inquisitor. Still, I understand that changing course might take time and that the second wave of change usually never comes from the direction one expects. Us, the faithful fans, telling Bioware how important it is that they keep trying and that it's because we love what they already did that they have to do even better is key in this matter, I think. I love that this thread has reached a 100 pages and it's full of great, nuanced discussion on the matter.

Anyways, switching topics a bit:

Also, my buddy who owns that booth told me that Bioware had told him not to bother with DA merch.  DA merch doesn't sell, they said.  Especially not DA2.  I don't think that has anything to do with Hawke.  I think it has more to do with Origins not being iconic enough (other than the Blood Dragon, it's pretty generic fantasy-looking) and DA2 having such a poor reputation that even those who liked the game would rather not walk around in a shirt advertising that fact.  If DA2 had been better received, we'd probably see tons of merch with Hawke's face all over it.

As someone who worked in retail selling, among other things, DAII merchandise when the game was still new, this doesn't surprise me. I heard a lot of negative opinions from customers, and if I told them that I liked DAII, they'd get upset and spend a lot of time (that I didn't have since I was working) trying to convince me that I was wrong. The thought of enduring more of that by simply wearing a t-shirt put me off buying merchandise myself. I might do it now though, since it's calmed down somewhat lately. The Kirkwall logo for example is quite iconic imo and would look great on a t-shirt. Perhaps some of the logos from Inquisition will make for great merchandise.

I know and with one being an American accent and the other British it will be interesting to see how the performances differ. I'm hoping they're both really good though I have a soft spot for British accents so if it's decent I'm pretty sure that's where I'll start. Now I'm really hoping we get to hear lady inquisitor at E3 as well as see her.  :D

Okay I'm pulling for the Brit accent but either one would set the benchmark and give us something to get excited about.  ;)

Note to self: Don't get hopes too high. Don't. Get. Hopes. Too. High.  Uh-oh.

You need a strong character because merchandising is all about association. Take something like a football boot, that has nothing to do with the footballer in question(his pictures not on it), but its still an association. It's the same with the N7 logo. Without the Shepard character, the logo would have no meaning.

From what I've seen so far the Inquisitor looks about as a generic as they come , which is hard to market.

Did she actually?  Because it looks so completely wrong for her.  She sticks her elbows way out like she should have a lot more bulk than she does.

Poor Shepard, weird animation, big breasts and ass and no muscles at all. And this.... dress.

Also dudebro wasn't any better. ME3 especially had horrible animations. God, i hope i never see these ridiculous animatiions in the new ME... and please, PLEASE, for the sake of many people's sanity, give the female protagonist a fit body, a body that screams soldier and not Victoria Secret.
