I don't think it is either, I was just saying it was done for different reasons than you stated. Also I'm pretty sure these onslaught of live action Disney films is just to try and put a final screw you to future filmakers because these stories go back to the public domain soon.

I trying to be funny with my first post so I think we're on the same page really. 

What I really want is for this "grim live action re-imaging" fairy tale craze to end. Enough is enough already.

While that's lovely and all I absolutely refuse to see this movie.

 

Maleficent is one of the most iconic villains of all time. Making her into a sympathetic figure is an assassination to her character. She's the Mistress of all Evil! She tried to murder a baby because she didn't get invited to a party. Turning her into a Woobie Destroyer of Worlds is just stupid. I've noticed that with a lot of female villains actually.

 

It's like what just because I'm a woman I can't be evil on my own without some man screwing me over? I'll have you know I burned and pillaged that village of my own accord. Not because my ex sawed my wings off. 

 

I get where you're coming from and normally I would agree, but I didn't get that "because you are teh femalez we must put a man in your life" kind of vibe from this movie.

My real big complaint is that I think we're going overboard with trying to make classic villains sympathetic.

Maleficent's allure to me was that she was just plain evil and she enjoyed it. I don't think she works as a tortured anti-hero, especially when she commands the powers of hell. Maybe another villain would have worked better for this but I just can't back them making Maleficent tragic. 

 

Also that quote was pretty gross. Yeah. That's...wow...

You know lately (as in the last couple of days) I have had this insane dream where they play as her for the demo and stage show that I am like 99.9 % confident that they are doing, you know, showing off Dragon fights and...stuff.

 

Edit: And plus if they go ahead and do that then we can nitpick her appearance and arms and find all the reasons it is impractical or realistic till October.

And what a lovely segue that was. I would absolutely love it if we could see our lovely leading lady at E3. I can't wait to see the Lady Qunari and Lady Dwarf model. I'm so happy we're getting Dwarven ladies back.

I'm crossing my fingers that we see some Lady Inquisitor (and more than just the humans too) at E3. Maybe if there's demos that people can play, we'll at least get some press on how the Lady Inquisitor looks/plays.

I don't know I think every single one of my RPG creations have had blue eyes, not sure about my Dalish Elf now that I think about it.  But my two Hawke's, my Cousland, and both of my created Shepard's all have had blue eyes.  I think my Dalish didn't...Red and Blue tend to be my favorite color.  As far as hair colors I have created a wide varierty of the spectrum, but I have not gotten to creating an out and out blond yet.

I believe I have stated this but right now that is important to me since the Malequisitor does sound probably like the best BioWare VA for a male protagonist in a good long while.  And that has, or would have, determined who I play first, male or female.  Just in ME I played Bro first since I had no idea who Jennifer Hale was and in DA O the people weren't voiced so it didn't matter.

Eeeee I think all of my characters ever created have had green or blue eyes. Though recently I've gone for the black hair, amber eyes combination.

I really want a nice sounding female VA. I didn't care for the lady Hawke voice overmuch. It wasn't bad, but I preferred the male VA.

 

I don't know what the qunari eye colour range is, but hopefully they give us all the choices.

 

I want to see the CC so badly.

I think all the genders and races should have access to all the options. With, I guess, the minor exceptions of pointy ears and horns.

 

You should be able to make a human female with Qunari-grey skin and a beard.
