I wonder if the female Inquisitor will have the option to wear non-boobie armor.
Both Warden and Hawke did, so I see no reason why not.

True true!
Man I can't wait to see all the different armors and outfits. Hfdfgdrghfgh.
Oh wow Sera looks interesting though her hair and face don't match up really to me, if she doesn't care very much about her looks to wear she cut off her bangs herself to keep them out of her line of sight then why is she wearing a ton of make up? Well maybe not a ton but it looks heavy around the eyes, I think I read somewhere though I can't put my finger on where that some people put dark makeup under their eyes to help with the sun glare or something like that but Sera's makeup looks more like heavy eyeliner than to block out the sun but that may be the angle they were going for with it which is really cool if it is. Actually I really hope that's the angle they were going for with the heavy eye make up would make sense to me that she would need it since she's an archer and all or at least she looks like she is one.

Yeah I haven't made up my mind on the panda eyes yet.
I think it fits with her character if she wears such heavy liner to look more intimidating. It doesn't look to me like she's trying to look attractive... more like she's trying to look tough. Like the liner is almost like war paint.
And if liner is the one make up item that she enjoys, that's cool too. The only makeup I wear is eyeliner. I don't leave home without it. It's eternally part of my "look." And when I was younger my eyeliner was considerably heavier than it is now.

I can also see that thinking that it makes her look more tough its an angle I didn't think of I really hope its that or trying to deal with the sun glare more than it is to make her look more attractive though if it was because of glare there would be more of it kind of covering the bags of the eyes I think. I really hope the war paint is the angle I hope that so much. Mostly because it'll give me hope that I can put some war paint on a few of my PCs >>
bleh I could never and still can't stand eyeliner I have it smeared all over my face in ten minutes though I did used to wear a heavy amount of lipgloss when I did put make up on.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed hopping that its suppose to be war paint type of look.
I don't know about the makeup as war paint for Sera but I'd really like it if we have war paint options for our inquisitors. ![]()
With fem inquisitor, companions and dragon fights having been teased for E3 I'm not sure we'll get much on CC but I really hope we see something on it soon too. And races but I'm hoping we might see some non human inquisitors at E3. I'm not actually counting on anything but I am hoping ![]()
As long as the boob cups, eyeliner and bared shoulders are a reflection of Sera as a character, then I'm ok with her visual design. If it tells us that yes, she's badass, deadly in a fight and practical, but she's got a few vanities as well, then yes, that comes across in her design. Still not very happy about the unpractical boob cups from an archer's point of view though. I think they're simply there to draw attention to her chest.
Eh, just do what I do whenever I get confronted with impractical female armour - reflect it in the character's stats. Take Isabella for example. I quite liked her character but let's face it, she was wearing a shirt and some boots and not much else. So whenever I had her in my party, I never added a single point to increase her health. With what she's wearing, she should be dying quite quickly in battle, so I reflected that in game. For a character who is stuck in boobplate armour of any description, I'd also restrict how much I'd increase her health. Boobplate armour just directs blows to the chest straight at the heart so while the armour itself would justify an increase in health, the boobplate means you don't increase it too much to simulate the appalling design that makes her vulnerable to being stabbed in the heart.

Of course, the downside of that is that half of your female party members wind up dying all the time while all the male ones are fine because they're dressed appropriately.

Hahahaha.
Be real, Lady Nuggins. Dressing appropriately wouldn't save female characters from the refrigerator.

Unlike with 2 we can change their armor, so I bet with some futzing and exploring of the armor crafting we will be able to find a look that covers her shoulders/looks more protected.

Yeah I'm still confused about that - from what I understand we'll be able to change their armor but their style/overall "look" will remain the same. So does that mean that Sera will forever be plagued with the boob cups?

I hope it means that whatever you put her in would just end up more torn and worn down looking instead. Though my standards feel pretty low since I'm kind of okay with the boob cup after all at least it isn't metal or showing her midriff or has a boob window.

Probably
But maybe we can give her some shoulder pads?
Skyhold is gonna be cold.

Yeah or a coat that would help too especially in some of the cold places we travel too... of course what would really help is being able to have warmer gear for snow environments and lighter gear though still with full coverage and scarf's for desert/wasteland environments.
Unlikely I know but it would be a nice option in keeping with the environments. Though come to think of it if the environment is supposed to affect the party that would make sense as part of the preparations you'd make to venture into those areas in the first place.

That is based off an old article before they added races and got the extra year to work on the game so while this could still be the case, they could have tweaked how that works too and/or expanded or decreased the differences in style/armours/amounts of armour etc in general. As for how her style would affect how she'd wear other armours that's another thing that wouldn't be easy to guess though unfortunately I suspect some form of boob cup will remain yes.
Oh how I'd like to be wrong though. ![]()

The panda eyes are a sort of alternative look. I used to wear that style of eyeliner in High School.
It was more to look edgy than anything else, I assumed that's what Sera is going for. That and her choppy hair give her a sort of punk rock vibe. I like it. ![]()

That would be AWESOME. I'd love to dress for the desert, get some kind of middle eastern vibe going.

The boob cups remind me of:

The boob cups remind me of:
Oh no. Oh no. Not DA:O mage robes...not those monkish boob cuppy things. Why must torment me so?!
Oh, man, the worst thing about DAO was that almost every mage robe and rogue outfit seemed to be identical with different colors. Invisible gloves and boots being cancelled out by robes were annoying too. Needs more variety and, yeah, less boob cups for the ladies. Anyways, Wynne's boob cups were less important for me, as I usually gave her Arcane Warrior specialization with the Juggernaut Plate chest-piece.
Did it for Sera, so might as well do it for Vivienne.
