Really? Eh to each their own, to me he always sounded really ticked off all the time even when he was suppose to be being nice. His voice sounded great for aggressive Hawke but anything else he sounded like he was going through anger management and was a hair away from snapping whenever he opened his mouth.

Eww you played diplo Hawke. ewwwwwwwwww

Boulton is fantastic as snarky and aggressive Hawke to me. His diplo Hawke is boring but useable. Boring as hell though.

Also considering the idiocy he deals with on a daily basis in Kirkwall I'd be surprised he doesn't run around in permanent eye twitch mode.

XD I love male Hawke! His voice is

I played an aggressive bloodmage Hawke...he hated most of the party and would've killed them if he could.

I do like Nic Boulton's voice too. I think Lady Hawke pulls off Diplo better though. Which is where, I personally, wish take the character. There's already a lot of aggression. Corny as it is, and as much as Hawke fails, I want to play the good natured mage. With Bethany gone, she fills the role.

I use snarky for those playthroughs though. Defense mechanism and sad clown are more compelling to me than diplo Hawke. And snarky Hawke can be good natured...just rude as hell :P

I tried Lady hawke but nope...and then I played ME3 and associated her with Brynn and yeah...

His voice is MANY    .

I like male English accent Inquisitor's voice well enough from what we've heard thus far, but I hope his sassy/sarcasm levels can hold their own against Hawke's! Hehe.

Male Inquisitor sounds a lot like Nathaniel to me. Which is fine by me. I'm practically gay for Nathaniel.

I see the appeal of the trailer Hawke too, but he's a filthy blood mage.. so to hell with him anyhow. I just don't care to play like that.

Yeah I was curious about that, like...is Hawke supposed to be a blood mage by default or something? The trailer does kind of go off the rails with the giant fiery spirit hands tearing the Arishok apart though.

No I played sarcastic Hawke who tried to be a nice guy until you messed with his family or Merrill and only the aggressive responses sounded natural to me like he was meant to be twitching his eye and slamming some poor sods head into a wall for looking at him the wrong way.

Snarky male hawke and helpful hawke just sounded very forced to me aggressive fitted him perfectly though but even when he flirted he sounded just so angry which made for a great laugh for me.

True a 'F**k everyone' option would have sounded very natural coming from Male Hawke's VA shame there wasn't one.

I always assumed that was part of the legend and exaggeration. Of course the legendary mage Hawke is using bloodmagic to literally tear his foes apart (especially since mage Hawke is apparently demonized to the point Cassandra thinks he is the one who blew up the Chantry)

Really? I didn't feel he was too aggressive. To each their own I guess.

Helpful I do agree feel forced but snarky felt like someone who used sarcasm as a defense mechanism and thought of everything as a joke (I loved how you could pretty much suggest Hawke was like this in the conversation with carver, You could either keep joking or pull out the that's enough). With Leandra as well.

And yeah especially in act 3. God I was looking for my f*** all of you I'm leaving choice so hard. :(

That power is in game, but it's Crushing Prison (sometimes it triggers on Ogres.). Not sure why it's all blood magey in the trailer.

Ahhhhh thanks! Just youtubed him, yeah they do sound quite similar!

It might have been the deepness of his voice that gives me the constantly angry vibe from him I'm not sure hmm oh well *shrugs*

If you look at snarky Hawke from that angle I can see what you mean but I really didn't think about it the first time I used it with him so it did throw me off it felt less of a defense mechanism and more of a 'my consular recommend using humor to calm my temper but its not really working' thing too me at least. (Yeah that was a nice touch that they did that shame I feel too compelled to make Carver like me to use most of those options)

I thought it might have been hidden somewhere since Hawke really had no real reason to get involved unless his sibling was with the circle or the templars I suppose, I was really really hoping for an option to just let them all kill each other and have no part in it in Act 3 or an option in Act 2 to give the middle finger to Kirkwall and go off with the Arishock I had at least two Hawkes that would have converted if it meant never seeing that city again.

Confirmed, no.

But the female voice sounds awfully close to the lady who voiced Samantha Traynor in ME3.

I think Gaider said this new male voice actor is someone they never hired before.. so I guess he just sounds similar.

XD

True. But rival Carver and funny Hawke is to me is some of the best interaction. XD Trololol.

What's worse is everyone can die and your Hawke can be a warrior/rogue thus absolutely nothing is stopping him from walking from that postule of a city but he stays for reasons. And it's not like DAO where you have been given the quest by someone who saved your life and the country will die if you leave. ah well.

I like friendly Carver only because it's a mini-game in itself to get to that point. :) It's a little too easy to ****** him off.

I could never bring myself to rival him even if he is a little turd most of the time until you get on really good terms with him, eh might be because I do have a little brother or maybe because I've only felt comfortable rivaling Merrill or Anders.

Exactly Hawke has no concrete reason to stay yeah I've had some Hawkes that would have stayed but others really wouldn't have especially mage ones for obvious reasons (nothing more annoying than siding with the mages for the first time in Act 3 then realizing that mages are still trying to kill you and sending demons after you even though you agreed to save their hides)

The main reason I like Diplo Hawke is it just jives well with the family. Leandra and Malcolm don't seem aggressive types. Nor Bethany. And Carver is only aggressive because he isn't "speshul". He's got the same problem as Gamlen. But Hawke needs more things to push themselves to that point. Which is still a valid way to play, of course. Kirkwall itself can make Hawke angry and aggressive. But I feel that's kind of tragic at the same time.

I have an older brother. I love trolling him.

And yeah act 3 is a mess. I can understand why mage Hawke doesn't leave though. Meredith would've used that as an excuse to throw him in the circle probably.

Eh doesn't Legacy pretty much infer Malcolm had Hawke's personality? I recall the "always ready to crack a joke." as snarky and "if you displeased him he let you know it." as aggressive.

You can play aggressive/snarky from the beginning of the game and I'm pretty sure there's lines to infer Hawke was always like that. And constantly on the run because your mage sister could make someone plenty bitter and aggressive.

It does, but he's still no bonafide Aggressive. He still says "My magic will serve that which is best in me. Not that which is base." At worst, he's aggressive like Aveline. Stern, orderly, principled. Not an angry jerk.

? That's him being reasonable about magic. Aggressive Hawke doesn't have to be all growly all the time (really playing him like that is probably going to result in "wait what?" moments when he completely contradicts himself). You can aggressive Hawke as a mega Tsundere though (which is the main reason I love playing him.).

Though yeah that quote in legacy was more about him being stern than anything. I guess it chaffed on Aggressive Hawke's nerves and he became douchey :P

My brother and I never see eachother enough to want to annoy the other so I can't ever do the same to Carver or Bethany (despite not liking her too much)

I think a Mage Hawke could have slipped away quite easily all it would take is a boat after all Meredith should have thrown Hawke's butt in the circle anyway since Mages are not allowed to keep titles so Hawke being a noble meant squat really but I get it was suppose to be a gameplay story separation with that.

Yeah Legacy does pretty much say that you have Malcolm's personality regardless of it being Snarky, Aggressive, or Diplomatic.

He mainly says that quote in the context of being forced to bind demons and use blood magic. He says he made a vow "that his magic will serve that which is best in me", but the Wardens forced him to sell himself out.

XD I see mine too often. Annoying the heck out of them is second nature. It's why beth gives me cavaties =/

True he might've been able to slip away. For me though it was enough of an excuse for mage Hawke to stay in Fereldan (if they hadn't been so eager to kill leandra off that could've worked for a reason for all Hawkes to stay).

I figured.

Aggressive Hawke can be very...harsh in regards to bloodmagic. It could be a personal honor thing.

And yeah the wardens =/ bleh. I'd killed them all if it was an option.
