I wonder if Allan's allowed to officially say anything about the receiving of cupcakes.  It might be seen as a breach of professionalism.  We may have to just make an educated guess.  Is it the Edmonton Bioware team that works on DAI?

Okay, since I have some sort of knowledge on this, having sent edible goodies to the team before (although primarily the ME3MP live team, which was at the Edmonton office before they were dispersed largely to the DA team, also at the Edmonton office):

Yes, it is primarily the Edmonton team that is working on DA:I, although other BioWare/EA teams around the globe are involved/helping. But from what I understand, the bulk of the Dragon Age team is specifically stationed in Edmonton.

I can personally recommend the following as trusted sources of edible deliveries to the office:

Cookies by George (accepts online payments via credit card)

Fuss Cupcakes (you'll need to call them with credit card payment, so international call rates apply)

Cakes by Candace (can do an email order, but need to call for credit card payment, so international call rates apply... added bonus that she does nut-free edibles, so anyone at the office with peanut allergies can still partake as well)

The mailing address for Edmonton is easy enough to find online, but I do have a copy on-hand if anyone really needs to PM for it. Also helps if you label it to a specific team or team member.

Wow, that all kinda makes me sound stalkerish, but really I'm not. I just like sending yummy thank you's when it seems appropriate. :) I am all for enabling that with others!

Knock yourselves out.  :D

Asbel from Tales of Graces too...although to be fair the Tales games are heavily Japanese...there are people with neon pink / purple / green / blue hair as well.

Yeah. I wouldn't really count JRPGs since they do all the crazy fantasy colors. :pinched:

Is AWR only voicing the Elven Inquisitor? Or will she voice as human as well? I only ask because I saw a tweet of hers the other day saying she is voicing the Elven Inquisitor.

As far as I know the voices are available for all characters.  It's possible that Alix had heard something along the lines of "this is how Elves" speak or something along those lines during VO or something similar, or that "those that would like to play Elves will want this voice."  In any case I'm trying to say I could see how she was mistaken about the specifics.

Just an fyi - they actually did another update to the site last night, and both videos are now up.  http://www.dragonage.com/#!/en_US/home

Wow am I ever late to the party since I just found this now... along with interviews about Cass and Vivienne which has me looking forward to meeting them in game even more now.  :D

You guys are so sweet. <3 This is why I hang around this thread.  Talking to so many well-spoken folks about a topic that is dear to me has been a blast.

It's why I hang around this thread so much too and I really enjoy that we have been able to and continue being able to have such a great discussion to which conversation I think you've contributed interesting and important information thank you. I also agree with the rest of your post about wanting more variety in male and female characters in gaming worlds and wish I could like it more than once.  ;)

Too bad, it's really good. Proof the shooter games can have RPG-level stories.

I just saw the E3 trailers...

Jennifer Hale...

Yeah, I think I'm interested again!

I checked out the Cookies by George site,and...that's a bit pricey for me. To get enough to send to the entire company it would take more money than I'm able to afford.

So instead I guess I will send cheerful happy thoughts in BioWare's direction in thanks for giving us Womanquisitor trailers and demos.

Hmm, I wonder how many of us we can get to contribute.  I'd put in money for it, for sure.  I also live in Canada, so if we decided to go with a company that requires a phone-in order, it wouldn't be a big deal for me to do that.

Knock yourselves out.  :D

Thanks!  Useful information, for sure.

Alright, I looked through a bunch of prices and I think these are going to be our cheapest options.  Lots of sites I looked at had pretty reasonable prices for the products, but then the delivery fee was $50-$70, so I scratched those.  Remember that all prices are in Canadian.  $25 CAD = $23.03 USD.

Cookies by George

Tin of 55 cookies = $84.95

Delivery: $13

Total: 97.95

If 4 people pay: $24.48 each

Delish Cakes

$16 for 1 dozen mini cupcakes

60 cupcakes = 5 dozen

5 dozen mini cupcakes = $80

Delivery = $20

Total: $100

If 4 people pay: $25.00 each

Obviously, the more people joining in, the less each person pays.  I also don't know whether 55-60 servings is enough.  But again, more people contributing = more servings that we can afford.

Well, I'd say we'd need at least two tins if we were to do that.  I have no idea how many people work at BioWare, but I'd guess it's way more than 50.  I could probably contribute some but we'd need some way (PayPal, etc.) to do so...?

Also, are you sure US money is worth more than Canadian?  There for a while recently the opposite was true, unless things have turned back around...

Yep, I just looked it up on XE.com.  That's the conversion as of today.

Doubling it makes it about $50/person, which is probably pretty steep for a lot of people.  If we drummed up support to make this a bigger thing, not just the handful of us in this thread, then we could really make that happen.

Pooling it via Paypal seems like the best solution.  I wouldn't mind buying it since I live in Canada and won't be charged any extra fees, and accepting payments from everyone else.  But only if this is something that people are really committed to doing.

Well I'm in if we can get a few more people! I think something like up to $20 per person wouldn't be bad!

Wheeeeee how exciting!!

I'm wondering if we could send something a little more personalized as well? Like combine some hand written messages from some people, send it to someone's address, then that person can put it all into a big card?

Or is that too much. :P Hmm yes maybe too much. I can't help it, I am BIG FAN.

I'd be delighted to chip in $20 for cookies/cake to celebrate Femmquisitor being shown. Positive reinforcement is always good :) .

If only we had somebody in Edmonton to help us out, they could deliver both cards and baked goods.  Otherwise, I don't think we'll be able to do both, at least not together.

Although, I will be going to Pax Prime in August, which would give us enough time to put together a sort of booklet/pile of cards/whatever handmade thing you guys might want to do.  I could deliver it to the Bioware base with baked goods.

I think with the ABC cupcake thing, people sent notes to the bakery and the bakery delivered those notes along with the cupcakes, maybe we could do something like that? Not sure how they did it though >.<

Who would set up the paypal? If going that route, and when? Cause I have a bit right now to send with this help. Just need to know more info on it. :) I'd rather not say the amount in this thread. ;)

Im on board with it. Though my thoughts are to thank them for all their work on it thus far. :)

I've seen how female's seemed to get taken not so seriously in games. Tabletop game called Champions, I decided to do something very off the wall with our group of gamers. Mostly guys play guys, I chose a lesbian Fex (feline race) and saw how she was treated. Later during game sessions, their outlook was slightly changed cause mine is basically wolverine that can take hits like Juggernaut and use gravitic powers. They keep thinking one guy(star man/superman) is more powerful but finally he hit her on accident. She brushed it off like it was fly landing on her. Still finding her not being taken too seriously, but after finding out his attacks at max couldnt harm her, it slightly improved. Another game or two, she will outshine superman. Not trying to beat him, just trying to get her taken a bit more seriously.

Though I did fail to say she is an assassin/ninja. I know a game ago the game master stated he has to find ways to counter my character now. Not so much of (star man/superman). Cause mine is the only one that keeps going after everyone else fell to the side.

Its an upward battle, which is really odd to feel for me. Its challenging and Im enjoying it. It did give me a new perception on women playing games that I may not of known previously.

In the last game though, Starman has been floating more to my characters side now that he knows he cant hurt her at all. And the fact everyone is noticing mine is the last standing in fights alot.

Mind this, I only played the female side in console games not with my group of friends till recently. I find this relevant myself. :)

That was done through Fuss Cupcakes when it happened.

My experience has been:

Cookies By George - you can put a limited message inside the card that comes with the cookies; you type the message while you're at the online checkout.

Fuss Cupcakes - you can email back and forth with the owner in regards to questions/total cost quotes, etc (their website also lists pricing, so it can really help you figure out roughly what your costs are beforehand). They were happy to print off an emailed message to the team for me to be delivered with the goodies. Ultimately, a phone call needed to be placed to secure the order/pay for it as they don't have online ordering, they have to get your credit card over the phone. If going this route, I'd recommend the mini-cupcakes (as opposed to full-size cupcakes) or a combination of mini-cupcakes and cookies, as that'll spread the quantity of goodies around more for your dollar. I'd always rather, for example, 70+ team members all get a little bit of yummy rather than fewer getting big giant ones, you know? Either way, the team's huge, so we're not gonna likely cover everybody, but in the past I've tried to aim at 70+ goodies minimum and let them mudpit wrestle it out over who gets the pieces.

Cakes By Candace - all of it's custom quoting and emails back and forth until you finally need to call with the payment info. She's very nice, but seemed a little pricey to me, probably because of making everything specially nut-free to avoid any potential food allergies. Fuss doesn't guarantee that, they've got nut products and work in an environment containing them. I'm not sure if she does cupcakes or not - when I went through her, I did a big "Happy 1 Year Anniversary" thing for ME3 and sent an anniversary cake along with a bunch of cookies (complete with N7 logos in sugar on top, nice touch!) she threw in as part of the order since it... was quite a bit of money *cough*.

I'd lean towards Fuss Cupcakes myself, personally, given my interaction and pricing with the three companies.

Also, bear in mind to add an extra $12-$15 for the courier charge of them actually delivering this to BioWare. It's an extra cost on top of the actual goodies themselves. Also, Americans, feel free to pitch in an extra buck or two because the Canadian dollar is worth a little less than the American dollar at the moment, so our dollar stretches a tiiiiiiiiiny bit further. Each time I've ordered, the actual charge on my card was generally a dollar or two less than what I was quoted due to the currency exchange rate.

I'll happily pitch some in [amount REDACTED ;) ]. I just... gotta find where the heck I hid my PayPal log-in info. Eep.

Also, ON-TOPIC, yay Lady Inquisitor! That voice was SO AWESOME. I can't wait, how about y'all? :D

Are people sure BW would accept the cupcake thing? didn't they get sent "poison" cakes & death threats last time by people who hated the ME3 ending or something similar to that .
