There is not enough curly or wavy hair options.  Even the EVE online character creator has limitations and that is one of the better cc's out there.

I admire the skills that people have for creating Sheps and Wardens and Hawkes, I can say most of mine a pretty lame!

Now I just have to decide what hairstyle I like that fits around horns!

Right so as per Allan's request, let's bring it back to the lady Inquisitor! ^_^

Here's something I'm curious about. For women who will roll a lady Inquisitor, will you try to make her look as similar to you as possible, or the complete opposite? I think oddly when I was younger I was more keen on making my characters as different as can be... pink hair, tattoos, the works (I'm referring to DAO's Warden... that was a while back, now!). But now I'm more interesting in creating a character who resembles me more. I wonder if it's an age thing. Not sure!

And for the guys... When you play the opposite gender, do you try to make her look as attractive as you can, or like a female version of yourself, etc etc? :)

Yeah I usually make them a version of me I prefer to look like. Well assuming the dark skin doesn't look like garbage. And I tend to make all my characters male and female attractive to me. My dudes usually have black hair and green eyes >_>

Almost of my PC's tend to have red hair and blue eyes like myself, though if they start to lose their individual nature, I can vary it.

I feel for ya. :( I think we've all got our fingers toes and limbs crossed for better options in the CC this time around!

Between the limitations of the CC and the predetermined look of the Couslands I gave up on a black PC in DAO

At least they seem to be improving in that regard.

This sounds kind of interesting. You guys are making me want to make my second broquis with this combo just to check it out. Can't do it for my first one, that one is reserved for copying me. (Typical I know but there you have it)

I generally only model characters after me when I can customize the body too. I'm a tall, huge breasted chubster and just putting my face on a shorter, slim body like most games have looks weird (I tried it in Oblivion and it made me lmao). Usually I just come up with characters of both genders and try to make them distinct from each other, unique and interesting and with a look that fits.

<catches up on the thread>

All I'll say is that Allan, you and some of the others posters just rock.  You've had a lot of grace and dignity despite how heated things got.  Thank you.   :D

Onto the current subject: I tend to make my characters look fairly different from me.  Black hair and blue or purple eyes is very common for me in games.  I tend to make the faces more heart shaped than I have IRL.

My (only, so far) male Hawke had black hair/green eyes.  I did have my husband helped me create him.  Call me shallow, but if I'm going to play as anyone in a game with a lot of cinematics for 20+ hours, I'd like it to be as someone I find attractive.

Do you think they'll have a variety of skin tones for the qunari??  Because so far they all have been grayish in tone (aside from that fanart yellow *shudders*)

Maybe they'll be more metallic tones I know I'd like to make a more bronze looking qunari, or a nice pale gold though nothing like that big bird yellow from the picture.

Though that's mostly wishful thinking on my part since I'd like my first qunari to look closer to Sten than the DA2 qunaris.

Aaryn is currently asking for suggestions on post-E3 media. This is as a good chance as it gets to make our voices heard.

I've been wondering this, too.  Will there be a set of skin tones available only to the qunari?  Or will all skin tones be open to all races, paving the way for grey elves and non-grey qunari?  They racially locked face tattoos in Origins, so it doesn't seem too outlandish to do that for skin color.  I'm thinking a range of greyish tones, from very light to very dark, would be neat.

Yeah I think they'll lock greyish tones for qunari as well. Though Sten had a different skin color, so I wonder if it'll range from light olive to dark grey maybe?

I had some likes I wanted to post with but this laptop I'm on right now sucks. :)

Part of a post I wanted to mention, I play with women in games, or have, and don't care of their gender. Skilled or not isn't why I play these myself, I'm looking for fun and sure anyone I am playing with is too. I don't touch PvP, just co-op and to win scenarios with anyone's help is fine. To deny anyone is showing underestimation of someone less proven to be very bad, but fun still their regardless.

I do create female pc's usually pleasant to look at, but have made males in same light as best as I can. I made one like myself but erased it.

I tend to like androgyny in the characters I play, so I tend to make my male characters more feminine and my female characters more 'butch'. I do try to make an attractive character but sometimes I'll give him/her qualities that I possess (and don't find attractive), but that I do relate to: sleepy eyes, dark circles, upturned mouth etc.

I'm really looking forward to making my female qunari inquisitor since it seems like we can give them a pretty rough, sharp look.

usually depend on the character I want to play. Usually good looking but not too much. Rogues, for example, have cute features, but short hair and little make up. mages have long hair (but tied up) and a good measure of make up. Than depending on the personality, they have tatooes or scars.

I don't look at myself to create a character. maybe sometime I can take ispiration from a character from a movie, or comic or even anime.

same for the males. I just make my immagination in motion, or take ispiration from some character I liked from othes media, maybe making a few changes to appeal more to me.

But one feature I like are particular colored eyes. I love making character with blue-grey, brilliant green, red, violet, very light gray, or yellow eyes. i like when the eyes catch the attention on an otherwise semi-bland character. I think eyes are what mostly can attract on the character I create.

I do this as well. For some reason I find it easier to relate to a more feminine guy and a more butch girl. Maybe it's just more refreshing, too... We don't often get to see characters in video games adopt a more middle ground.

I often start here as a baseline too.  Although I allow myself character development that makes sense within the narrative as it's presented to me, even if it's not something Allan From Earth™ would do.

Like go full on darkside and use the Star Forge <.<

Heh heh, I hear ya.

I only ever do the first playthrough like that. Multiple playthroughs thereafter are all their own characters with their own variances on the storylines. A little more role-playing oriented on those rather than "Tiffany's going to save the world again after work today!"

Ha :D Same :P

Though I'm almost 100000% sure that this time my first playthrough is going to be my Draenei-turned-Qunari. >.> Well one of two, either the super sweet over the top sweet omg to sweet my teeth hurt healer, or my nice kid but a bit reckless with anger control management issues fighter. :P

Just this once though....
