You guys are awesome! As a female gamer, thank you for letting Bioware know how much they are appreciated for including us!

Quite welcome. You can thank them as well directly too.  :)  Just like now with that post or PM them.

Edit:  I ran out of likes. But like yours. I had more likes than what I could do with in the last hour or two today.  :)

In fact some people are reading the thread now.  I heard one person "OMG I named my nug plushie Nuggins!"

Ahhh this pleases me!  Especially since my name was specifically inspired by my making the plush my icon.  I've heard a rumor that many of the devs own these plushies.  I love that the plushies have names.

I hope in the actual game the characters look a bit more... robust than they do in the stills/trailers.  Some of them have limbs that look like they'd snap if you sneezed on them, and in a few stills they look like their bones are all disconnected or facing in the wrong direction.  Very offputting!

Again, if you look at the Qunariquisitor video, you can see how bulky she is.  She towers over the human males, as well.  I've been concerned over this same thing, but at least they created multiple body types for the females across the four races, rather than giving them all the same model-thin build like games normally do.

You guys are awesome! As a female gamer, thank you for letting Bioware know how much they are appreciated for including us!

I didn't want to speak for all female gamers, but I think this is an important issue to a lot of us, so I'm glad we could do something good!

It's superbly appreciated.  I know for some it was a reaffirmation that "this is why this stuff is important" and for others "I didn't really realize how much some appreciated this" so please keep it up :)

I originally just sent it to the Dragon Age team (since it was cupcakes for them), but the letters and sentiment were picked up by the other games and also Montreal and propagated there too!!

Next time I hope we can include Montreal in the rain of baked goods, but oh wow it's great that the letters were spread outside the Edmonton office!

I'm sorry I didn't contribute in helping with the purchase of the cupcakes for Bioware, I have no credit cards and only pay cash for things, but just wanted to say good job people.  And just so you know, I'm a male gamer and appreciate what Bioware has done thus far.

I really hope they have a bit of variety.  I don't want super practical clothing for my mage or rogue.  90% of the time I used the Dalish armor for my rogue and often the Tevinter Robe or the Archon Robe for my mage in Origins.   I don't care if it's not practical, it's one reason I don't play warrior. :)

And it's one reason I often end up getting the game for the 360 and the pc.  I don't care for outfits that are super skimpy, but I don't mind some skin showing.  My mage and rogue, will die no matter what I'm wearing until I get the hang of things and when I do, they will be amazingly competent and distracting the enemy is good.  ;)

Verbal support is just as important!  Those of us who contributed money did so because we wanted and were able to, but this was just one of many ways that we can show our appreciation to Bioware for giving us more representation.

Also, thanks from me personally, for the numerous callouts many of you made for my time in this thread and forum in general.  I received a good chunk of playful sass from some coworkers about how my ulterior motive was to show everyone how much people like me! ^_^

But very nice words from the lot of you and it was almost shy inducing when I read them after sending the letters around first.  So thanks!

The verbal support is just fine.  Twitter is probably the easiest way to get access to a lot of the developers if you wanted to share verbal encouragement/support, but if you don't have access to that sharing it in this thread is still good.  I know some lurk here, and it's not uncommon for me to share stuff with the team as a whole from time to time as well.

Well, thank you! :) I ran out of likes, too (Especially with Cullen's big reveal today) but there's a lot of posts here that I would like to give likes to, lol!

Mentioning the female Qunari, I really appreciated how she was handled, by her body frame and size. She looks daunting, and I agree with you, I am so glad that she has her own body type, and wasn't sexualized like I've seen in some Qunari fan arts. She's still feminine for her race, and she stands out, in a good way.

I have long had this idea that there was a passing of the torch from Stanley Woo to you. Given he was one of the most regular developer posters in his time and you both were/are in the QA section.

Also with the plushie talk... would you know if Gaider still has that Broodmother plushie on his desk. That thing was about as cute as a Broodmother could ever get... and its still creepy.

I was actually thinking about that today.  We have recent new QA testers, and I'm curious if any of them are like "That's Allan from the forums!" like I was with Stan when I started :)

This is how I feel too. Thank you very much for being so inclusive Bioware and thanks guys for sending the cakes and letters. You're all fantastic  B)

Yeah after seeing how good she looked in the demo I was really excited for October and a chance to play my own fem qunari. I haven't seen the female inquisitors from the other races but I'm hoping they're equally in proportion as well.

Me too, noooo!

Hey, your support for your sisters from another mister, and your care for equality is super awesome and very appreciated!

Heck yes, I loved her design! I was afraid BW would play it "safe" (designing primarily for the male gaze) and make her a supermodel with a strap bra instead of a shirt and have her the same height as human men. I'm so glad they made her the way they did instead

I'm with themikefest on this one.  Well, minus the male part, of course. ;)

I ran into some financial trouble and I couldn't pitch in.  However, I do want to formally say thank you to the DA team for having one of the first big trailers centered around a lady Inquisitor.  Tell them that we love them for that.   :D

And thank you thread, for giving them such a sweet treat!

Something I meant to put in my letter but forgot was a note about how much I appreciate BioWare looking out for real women as well as the fictional ones. (Not to mention real LGBT people and other groups that tend to get a lot of crap elsewhere.) This is one of the few video game forums I'm comfortable frequenting, because the moderators and developers don't let misogyny and other nonsense run rampant. And you don't just lock the threads, you point out when people are being sexist/homophobic/whatever and ask them to please knock it off.

Your personal presence here is especially appreciated :) .

After several people have posted their various thank yous here, I pointed out to the other folks in the cupcake group that we should really have asked those who could not contribute financially to contribute in the nice letters department.  I feel that the sentiment behind the gift and the letters themselves had more impact than the treats for most of the people.  Though the treats surely didn't hurt!

Something we'll bear in mind if we ever happen to do this again...

It would be cool and appropriate to write more letters/send more sweet, sweet positive reinforcement after we have actually had the opportunity to play as the female Inquisitor ...

Yes well said! I absolutely agree with this one thousand percent! This is one of the few video game forums I feel comfortable in too, and this thread has been probably my best online discussion experience ever... to the point I actually post in it instead of just lurking :D

I'd like to add my own thanks to BioWare staff for being as awesome and inclusive as you are. I really appreciate being able to play games where I can have a female protagonist, who can wear sensible armour, and not be confronted by an entire cast of weird/icky representations of women among the NPCs (a few are fine! :) )... And thank you for speaking out at dev conferences about inclusion not just of women but of persons of colour and members of the LGBT community who also enjoy gaming. And thank you for moderating your forums so it can actually be a pretty safe and non-icky place for me!

I am so proud that you are a Canadian company, too.  So thanks for that, as well.   :)

Well, I'd hope it wouldn't be a human female, I'd love to see a qunari female trailer, something new.

All we get is human trailers, I'm sure it'd rack in some more people to see some different race than humans because were mainstream.  :)
