You guys are awesome! As a female gamer, thank you for letting Bioware know how much they are appreciated for including us!

Yup!

I've been lurking here for a month or so. There are a lot of amazing women and men on this thread, supporting and standing up for equal representation. And this thoughtful and heartwarming gesture just tops that awesomeness. So as a fellow female BSN-er and lurker extraordinaire  -  thank you! Thank you for doing this and thank you for being an amazing group of people!  ;)

This guy reminds me of Kazundo Gouda from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG.

Long time lurker here just wanted to say you Forumites did a great job sending those cupcakes!

I also think Bioware have done an amazing female Qunari and are looking forward to playing as one in October.

Well, I'd hope it wouldn't be a human female, I'd love to see a qunari female trailer, something new.

All we get is human trailers, I'm sure it'd rack in some more people to see some different race than humans because were mainstream.  :)

With a fantasy game I'd be inclined to agree in the abstract, but since proper representation is still an issue I think a human is more impactfull.

After several people have posted their various thank yous here, I pointed out to the other folks in the cupcake group that we should really have asked those who could not contribute financially to contribute in the nice letters department.  I feel that the sentiment behind the gift and the letters themselves had more impact than the treats for most of the people.  Though the treats surely didn't hurt!

Something we'll bear in mind if we ever happen to do this again...

The nice thing about the treats is that it represents a willingness to do something more than just talk.  The cost (literally) is higher for you to do it, so it does work as a force multiplier to the nice words.  It's something to make people take notice.  Then, once they are taking notice, they start consuming.  And that's where things have the strongest influence IMO.

Yeah, I figure we make more impact with nice letters and treats than with either one alone. I am happy to know that BioWare developers have now formed some kind of association between the Lady Inquisitor and delicious free cake :) .

I'm still psyched by it myself.  :)   Yeah, figured the treats would help with an impact little more than just receiving letters. Especially remembering the previous ones that was sent to the other team, that it needed a positive to overcome that negative. Its not the same team, but they are the same company.

I hope we can get together and do something like this again once we've finally played the game!  Man I can't even imagine having it in my hands, I've been so excited about it for so long....

I would count on doing it again.  :D   I also want to progress with it further in other projects of theirs as well.

And I'm sure this has been posted at some point, but in my failed attempt at searching for the pic I wanted, I came across this adorable dwarf Inquisitor art!!  <3

EDIT: Awww hang on that's Dagna, apparently. Sorry I thought it could be a dwarf Quizzy. Ah well. Still gorgeous, and still would like to see an Inquisitor version!

So I'm mildly late on the thanks train but I wanted to add my voice to everyone's in saying:

a) Thanks so much to those of you who were able to contribute your money and time to represent those of us who are proud of BW for being so inclusive of women and kind to us female gamers. It's really appreciated, and I hope that if there is a next occasion I will be able to add a contribution with the rest of you!

B) Thanks so much to Allan and everyone at Bioware for taking notice of their female demographic, listening to us, sharing thoughts with us, and acknowledging us. I don't think I've ever felt so included as a female gamer.

To move on with the topic, I'd LOVE to see a lady Dwarf Inquisitor, the concept of their face was gorgeous, and I'd love to see how the build has translated into this new game :)

I'm curious to how the female dwarf would appear in correlation with the male dwarf. Also, quite welcome. :)  The team is awesome.

Removed some offtopic posts.

For context, and I would prefer to not see this thread get derailed, there was a group of people that sent us cupcakes in protest of the Mass Effect 3 endings.  Due to the nature of their message, we did not accept them as it did not feel right.

Due to the nature of this message, we had less reservations and were willing to accept them.

Do not derail this thread further by discussing whether or not the situation with ME3 was good or bad or anything like that.  It's just going to derail the conversation and bring in all sorts of heated parties into the discussion.  I don't want that.

Right so which inquisitor next? I'd kind of like to see an elf inquisitor to see what they'll look like in game (I'm guessing Solas and Sera are unique models) so I'd be interested in how they look as a PC. But really I'd be happy with female human, really happy with female dwarf and perfectly happy with more female qunari inquisitor too.  B)

I'm easily pleased with any female inquisitor really, any race or class too though I'm leaning rogue after mage so a rogue or a warrior that actually makes me think harder between rogue and warrior for my second choice.  ;)

Oh and if we can hear her I think hearing the American accent voice would be nice for the people looking forward to that voice or who are waiting to hear both before deciding which one to try first. Hearing more Alex would be cool too... er yes I am biased and know that's the voice I'm choosing... but more Alix is always great.

I want to hear the American VA as well. Right now Alix's is what I would go with, and plan on probably creating her in there. Wasnt going to till I saw that video that was around. :)

Elf/human/dwarf female would be good to see next, though there was a "generic gender" human already. So an elf or a dwarf (voting dwarf) would be awesome to see. :)

I also vote dwarf, because MOAR DWARF is always the right answer.

On the other hand, we at least saw a male dwarf in some leaked E3 demo footage and I don't think we've seen any elves at all, so a female elf would also be neat.

I'm a BW fan from way back. They have always done amazing stories and characters, and the endings have always had at least one that left me feeling heroic, hopeful and satisfied.   I've pre-ordered every rpg game they've been involved with since KOTOR.  Started with BG, yes an amazing game which I believe was the first time I had the option to play either a male or female, and chances are good, as long as they let me play a female and continue with the amazing dialogue and story, I'll always pick up their games. Now, whether I pre-order or not will depend on what I hear about it and whose doing it, but eventually I'll more than likely get it and I did end up pre-ordering DA:I because of the people who are working on it (have admired DG since he wrote an ending for the Carth fans in KOTOR which I still have) and what I've seen so far.  I'm looking forward to it a lot.

That said, they do need to hear the disappointments as well as the joys. My work review includes both, so should theirs.  :)  If they only hear the good and how wonderful they are (which generally speaking they are)  they won't even think about fixing something because they won't know how it affected their fan(s). Whether it's big boobs and sexy armor and how unpractical it is or having her walk exactly like the male character, it's all important.

While this might go somewhere else, it is related to Female characters, And while they are fairly small things, I think they are also important.  DAO - watching Alistair have sex with another women, not cool, felt like they were doing this so anyone playing a male warden (and I did play one) could see their character with Morrigan.   DA2 - Fenris and Anders were  both emotionally disturbed or damaged and even Merrill looked really depressed.  Fenris left me feeling like I had just experienced a one-night stand and it took him what, 2 years to come back.  And Anders, well I could play a mage as disturbed as him but most everyone including Meredith and Orsino at the end had major personality issues and everyone needed a good therapist.  My favorite romance for any female character was Aveline and Donnic.

I love most everything about the female characters they give me, It would be nice if they had different animations for male and female, but  I don't mind her funny walk (I've been told I walk like I'm plowing a field)  :D And I've been known to sit very unladylike like, though after the age of 10 I have worn jeans or a long skirt when doing so.  I can take quite a bit of non perfection as long as story and dialog pull me in and I do have high hopes for DAI.  Hoping to play it at least as many times as I did DAO and DA2.  That will take me through the next 4 or 5 years.

It would be cool and appropriate to write more letters/send more sweet, sweet positive reinforcement after we have actually had the opportunity to play as the female Inquisitor ...

I completely agree with this and, in hindsight, wish I had widened the letter net.

But I imagine there will possibly be a "next time" - particularly after the game releases - so I'll correct that and gather as major a haul from everyone wanting to participate as possible. Personal letters mean so, so much and I'm all about serving as a means of conveyance for that!  <3

I'm leaving the group up, so perhaps more may join as the months progress. If it grew enough to involve both the Montreal studio along with the Edmonton studio "next time", I'd be thrilled, since Montreal is working on DA:I as well, although Edmonton is the bulk, from my understanding.

Meanwhile, on to Lady Inquisitor, add me to the list of those interested to find out who the American VA will be as well as seeing a spunky dwarf Quizzy. :D

I didn't know Montreal was working on DAI as well. I was under the impression that Montreal was focused on the next Mass Effect game.

And folks can add me to the list of who the American VA will be.
