Just going to say my two cents real quick just because a character male or female is fat does not make them less of a character I know several very beautiful people in real life who are overweight and their weight does not make them any less beautiful. Also having a fat LI isn't damaging at all I can think of at least two games right now that have fat LIs. And one of them is a wonderful character who I adore her being overweight does not make her less of a person than the thin LIs or a the Short LIs or the Tall LIs or any of them. Also not every main character has to be 'incredibly attractive' I can't recall the last book I read where the main character was more than plain or average didn't make me enjoy the book any less. Theres nothing wrong with enjoying attractive characters or even preferring them but theres everything wrong with saying they are the only ones worth showing. Okay I'm done just needed to get that off of my chest, but it ticks me off to see someone saying that if a character is not beautiful by model like standards than they are lesser than characters (and people) who are.
If A is worth more than B, B, in comparison must be worth less than A. It has to be.
It's plain, simple, utterly inescapable logic. If I value A more, I value B less in comparison.
I prefer attractive people. I value them more. In real life, and in fiction. The inevitable, inescapable consequence is that I value unattractive people less in comparison.
There's no way around it.
