Yeah I know what you mean. I liked what I read in Josephine's interview and character sections too. I'm looking forward to meeting her now too.
Me too, but, I have to admit, even though I really love the name 'Josephine', I feel slightly strange calling her that rather than 'Scribbles'. New head-canon: Varric's nick-name for her is Scribbles. So shall it forever be.
OMG, I LOVE that!
Was always a big Turian fan (NOBODY COULD TELL THAT FROM MY AVATAR, I KNOW) and was dying to see a female version for so long. Loved Nyreen, she was wonderful and Sumalee voiced her so well! And I was extra happy when that meant art assets suddenly existed to bring the Cabal into ME3 MP. 
I'm suddenly, tragically torn on who to pick for the voice of my first Inquisitor. I really am. 
Yeah Josephine sounds pretty cool. I've really tried hard not to bend to the idea of certain characters being one way or another as my expectations never meet the reality!! Also the character threads, although they're fun, the speculation can taint your expectations too. For example, I keep remembering all the stuff on James Vega. There was so much negative stuff about him, his looks mostly, prior to ME3 that I thought he'd be a terrible beefcake caricature - but in the end he was a character I liked having around as my Sheps buddy.

Nah, worst case scenario, I'll flip a coin. What's more likely is I'll get finished making the looks of my Quizzy and then pick the voice that seems to fit her best.

In DA:O my character was male but DAII I ended up with FemHawke, I don't why but I liked her FAR more than MaleHawke. Not saying MaleHawke is a bad character or the such but FemHawke blew me away.

Had to be the voice. I like Jo Wyatt's voice in the game especially when choosing a sarcastic playthrough.
Right now I'm going to have AWR voice my main femquis and Sumalee Montano voice my female Qunari. Elf and Dwarf, I'm not sure which voice I will use at this time.
Of the two female VAs, I'll probably end up using Sumalee Montano's more but not by much.
I will use both. I love british accents though.
Both of their voices are amazing!!! I can't choose between them...
I'm sure I'll get around to a play through with Sumalee Montano's voice eventually but I'm pretty confident my first couple of inquisitors will be voiced by AWR... I don't think I'd ever get tired of her voice.
General question to the thread: What was the first game with a lady main character that you ever played? Mine was the (rather awful) Athena for the NES.
I played as a lady main character in the Commodore 64 Version of Labyrinth (1986? Holy hells, I'm old ... ); mind you, it was a 3rd person point-n-click so apart from a bit of cosmetic text, it didn't make much of a difference to gameplay. A lot of the Infocom text adventures also had the option for a female protagonist ...
You had to load it off a cassette tape. And you were grateful it wasn't punch cards.

FemHawke is better at diplomatic. Male is better at sarcastic. Don't know about direct personality.

Eh I liked FemHawke's sarcastic voice a lot. I thought it was playful and cute. MaleHawke was a great deadpanner though.
Also just stopping by to say how much I love our American Lady Inquisitor's voice. I'm seriously going to have trouble picking a voice for my first play though. Do I want the awesome voice or the other awesome voice? It's going to be difficult.

I really liked sarcastic FemHawke, while at yimes MaleHawke came off as a... Creeper sometimes. Though it did make some scenes much more hilarious in that case.

Let's be honest, Ivy and the other females in that game series and the DOA girls come from Japan.... where characters are all like this:
And need i even bring up the character Halibel from Bleach? If you aren't familiar just look it up, rather not post it as I could catch warning points for it.
I'm not trying to excuse it but I am saying it's not surprising coming from Japan. Look at the female characters from Uncharted which comes out of the States. Sure Chloe is a bit sexualized admittedly but both her and Elena are very competent (for the most part, Elena is still too damn compassionate in the second game).
If you want to joke about the marketing though this picture is hilarious even though I love the movie and the universe the movie is from:
