Good thing that Wonder Woman isn't Isabela then, wouldn't you say? ![]()
That Avengers comic
And yeah, I do like the WW outfit.
To me, that cosplayer nailed being the fine art of being sexy without being sexualized. ![]()
Good thing that Wonder Woman isn't Isabela then, wouldn't you say?
If Isabela would be wonder woman she would use her power to rob banks.
And wonder women mostly of the time don't wear pants.

That's why I prefer the picture of Wonder Woman I put up. Black leather pants make more sense as armor (even for a superhero,) and frankly looks more like how I think a superheroine should look. Not with all her legs and that much skin exposed. A black leather jacket makes for some fine armor, especially in the style that the cosplayer is using. Zip up the jacket and you've got decent armor that's actually covering your vital areas. Ask any biker. ![]()
I always felt even as a kid that the skirt and high-heeled boots that most pictures of Wonder Woman showed were extremely stupid and impractical. As an adult, it's just laughable to me. I really feel that the looks of some of our classic heroines have limited their ability to get into theatres. Sure, you have the XMen...most of which were dressed fairly practically in the movies. Of course, one of maybe two female characters that seemed like an actual adult with some sexiness as well as strength they made into a kid (Rogue in the first couple of movies,) but hey...details. At least I didn't feel like the lady members of the XMen were just there for the male audience, and they were as covered as the rest of the men.
C'mon, if a relic like Captain "You were my grandpa's favorite comic hero" America can have a comeback with a bit of a redesign, I'm not sure why they can't do that with one of the few comic heroines that didn't need a male character first to as a direct basis (i.e Batgirl, Supergirl, She-Hulk.) I'm betting outdated and impractical designs like that aren't helping matters.

The first wonder women created it was created for as man I not argue about this. But why it is wrong? And I am sorry I am tired of realism argument in fantasy games or in this case fiction world there Diana can deflect bullets with hear metal wrist bands. Superman don't even need armour he is armour, and I still don't how there exist universe there superman naturally born farm boy can win agents Faora and Zod solders who was literary born to fight. But no one care about realism because its cool. This is our big different you want realism, I don't. I want shot magicla green beam from my hand and close oblivion gates, I am sorry I mean breach.
And come on why superhero with god like powers need pants? And I recommend to watch Watchmen. It's not something ground break but it's interesting, and treat the audience like adults, not kids.

Well, as a kid I found Superman wearing his underwear on top of his pants way more ridiculous than a sexualization I was completely oblivious to ![]()

Doctor Manhattan
Looking at the Doc up there...
How about the fact that I'm not alone when I say I wouldn't want to see his superdong?
How about the fact that he gets more treated with more respect and less sexualized as a nude man by the general public than most superheroines get even with clothes on.
How about that he isn't being marketed as eye candy just to get women to watch, complete with "sexy" poses that'll look like it throws his back out? Where's that all important crotch shot right into the camera just so we can see how big his package is? Artists draw women like that all the time, only with their breasts. Guys almost never get treated like that. Even with still shots like this, they almost always make sure that women "show it all off."
Looking at that guy right now, I can tell you that he isn't supposed to be eye candy to me. He's supposed to be awesome. Or as far as I can tell; I never could make it through Watchmen.
Why is keeping characters like Wonder Woman in low cut tops/high cut skirts/booted high heels a bad thing? It should be pretty obvious from the previous paragraph, but you're being polite so I'll share my answer.
Even with the male superheroes that don't dress in much, they usually aren't in some sexy pose showing off their ass or crotch. They are usually badasses and nothing about them usually implies "weak" or a need to be sexy.
Because I'm tired of the huge boobed/skimpy armor/too much skin showing from all of our superheroines. It looks like pure eye candy, and it's generally used in media and advertising as titillation for straight men. If lesbians or bisexuals find her appealing, that's a very unintentional bonus.
WW's original armor doesn't scream "Badass warrior" to me, it screams "Look at me, I'm sexy!" I can't say the same for any superhero (as in male) armor. Sure, some are skimpier than others, but it isn't because they were trying to make the guys sexy, unlike the female characters.
Because continually dressing our female heroes like that keeps the typical conception that it's accepted and even welcomed that women comic book heroes aren't going to be taken seriously by the general public.
Because most older female characters in comics look like that and it isn't the 1940s anymore. Even the guys from that era are getting updated looks to catch up with the times. Women are long overdue.
Because maybe running around in a skirt and boots seems ridiculous in general. You are welcome to find it silly, but it's getting outright immersion breaking for me every time I see a heroine running around taking out badguys in a mini-skirt and boots.
Because plenty of male superheroes don't need to dress sexy just to get justified to exist.
Because if her and other superheroines were written with with actual women in mind, caring what women think, the odds are very good that she wouldn't look that way these days.
Because keeping designs like that makes it obvious to me that the comic industry still likes to pretend women don't read comics.
Because this is an advertising and marketing philosophy that needs to change, and that starts with a character design that men and women both take seriously.
That's just my two cents. To each their own.
I think Wonder Woman should wear this armour

I think Wonder Woman should wear this armour
That wouldn't be bad, but she'd still needs pants at least. Lest the urge to market her as just t*ts and ass would be too strong for a lot of mainstream advertising.
I would love to live in a world where women warriors could dress like that and be taken seriously. We don't live in that world sadly, and it's probably going to be until well after my niece (she's almost a year old) is grown up and has kids of her own before that could even start to happen.

And this is where we get a problem. different people like different thinks. The you make game/move/book for everyone you make it for no one. Diana was created as sexy for male readers and you want what to change. Simply saying I don't I like it. If you don't like move or game it doesn't men you have to change it, it just means it's not for you, there is a lot of stuff i don't like I just ignore it.
There is no mutual fantasy for man and women "Yours bore us, ours offends you" Just watch this 3:35 sec.
I think Wonder Woman should wear this armour
You have it. But I don't think it would fit in new Man of steel style think photo Me or Natashina show fit more then this armour

Well, considering that this a thread has spent several pages talking about women in marketing (for DA and beyond,) I do care and I'd like to discuss it with others.
I'm not sure you read your own answers, but you just told me that a female character I like "wasn't for me" and that I should ignore it if I don't like the way she looks. Even if I like Wonder Woman as a character, I have to just "deal" with her character design even though it's inappropriate and several years out of the realm of good taste? Excuse me, but that's bullshit.
I don't care if she was originally designed to be hot for men. Like I said, it isn't the 1940s anymore and why should she or any other heroine look sexy just for men?
Last time I checked, I'm a woman that reads comics and plays games. These are female characters. Why shouldn't they be "for me?" The main problem I have with them is the way they are dressed and marketed to the general public. Which is also on topic.
If your solution to someone like me that wants to change the way women are depicted is to "just ignore it," then I'll remind you that this is the thread to discuss this in. If you think I should ignore it, then what are you here for?

So if it is female you have all right how character looks. And if it offends you no women in any form of entertainment can't look sexy. What was point with my post You don't like what I like, and I don't like what you like. You forcing your opinion and I forcing my. And there is no point in this, I guess we at least agree on this. So just end this we will go nowhere. And I am not apologising for liking women even if it offends you.
I will admit this has always been my favorite version of Wonder Woman:

Though that cosplay version is pretty awesome too. I cant stand characters like her or Superman though... too perfect for my taste.

That's awesome! I love that design for her. She looks strong, sexy and nary an ill-suited mini-skirt in sight. Thanks for putting this up!

I like the leather jacket posted version on the last page but for a person that fights the way she does I could see it be very limiting and make it difficult for her to do so. The only two superheros that that makes sense for me are Punisher and Blade as they can use it to hide their guns.

That makes sense, if it goes along better with her fighting style. Plus, she has the shield that does compliment her fighting style to help make up for the lack of torso body armor.
More than anything, that picture you put up said to me, "I'm badass, I know to defend myself and my pose isn't any more stupid or sexualized than the guys." It's light years away from feeling like she's just there to be sexy for straight/bi men.

It's like Superman in Man of Steel. Yes, his get up was a BIT of a divergence from the source material but it ultimately looked better. Just like Karl Urban's Dredd uniform is a big change from the way the comics are but it still looks more practical. That's what I like about that version of WW I posted, plus she has the shield which is something I always felt she should have since her character to me always came across as one of a Greek Hoplite.
As an aside, they never should have had the actor playing Superman shave, he looks about 200times better with the scruff.
So...how about that Female Inquisitor?
Didn't see it posted here so I'll do it.

I am getting the impression that your point in this thread is to shut people up, which is contrary to the entire point of this thread which is to get people to talk.
Sure it's possible that what they would like and what you would like are mutually exclusive, but don't come into a thread where they discuss what they like and tell them that it's all pointless and how they're just trying to force what they want upon you and that there's no point in discussing this. It's not productive.

I always think chokers look awesome. But yeah, I think this is a great look for her. Although I am also partial to the top they used in Justice League War. Not a fan of the skirt from that, but all that's worth saying was already said in the thread.

I think we've already had the best Wonder Woman armor set and Wonder Woman character represented on tv. Her name was Xena.
Though Sif's armored outfit from Thor 2 would be a nice look as well.
I wouldn't mind having either of them as a set for a Femquisitor.
