"COD crowd" is still diverse, though. Stereotypes are silly, and that goes across all fronts. My husband plays COD, and he also is a big fan of Mass Effect (turned onto it by me first bringing it into the house, because I am an RPG lover). He tried DA and just wasn't into the fantasy realm, though, because different strokes. At the same time, I stepped out of my RPG comfort zone and grabbed Titanfall on 360. Ended up really liking it (and also appreciated I could choose a male or female pilot
).
Fun fact: Michelle over at Flirt Cupcakes - the company we ordered the cupcakes from - is apparently a huge COD fan and was thrilled they added a female soldier to MP in Ghosts. She and I have actually had quite a large time chatting it up about gaming in general via email ever since this Cupcakequisition went down. I had no idea. I really didn't. Ended up being the best and most fitting company we could have done business with. They will be my permanent BioWare goodie station now, for whatever future individual and group endeavors I engage in.
And it was completely done without intention for media/public attention. We all organized and were concerned first and foremost about sending a positive message to BioWare. It was only the week AFTER the delivery that we looked at each other in the group and said, "Damn, kinda wish BioWare had gotten some good press from that!" It was only the Monday after when we all said that that I even started contacting gaming media groups. And I work at a newspaper FOR A LIVING, so that should tell you my focus was genuinely on the personal message and not on a public spectacle. That it didn't even occur to ME until afterwards that, "Hmmm, maybe we should try and get press from this."
Natashina - I will reinvite you to the group. We're keeping it up since we're planning another again at some point in the future. But you (and anyone else) are welcome regardless of ability to financially contribute. I deeply regret not offering everyone an ability to submit messages this first time. I won't make that mistake again. The benefactors who can contribute money will worry about the costs and the food, but EVERYONE who loves BioWare and appreciates what they've done and continue to do will ALWAYS be welcome to add their personal message to our future endeavors. It's about THE MESSAGE, THE LOVE, AND THE POSITIVITY. Always. First and foremost.
Anyone interested, PM me anytime. My door is always open to talk or to pull you into the group invite list.
