I'm assimilated awhile ago. :)

I read the comments and some were like....really?!   One had me thinking, huh, Last I checked I wasn't a female, maybe I should go back and check myself again?

Hello, I'm Allan's other account, I live in the States, eastern side.

And this is the part where we all, instead of saying "I'm Spartacus," stand up and say, "I'm Allan Schumacher."

Hmm so Bioware sent cupcakes to themselves, huh. I am Bioware. We are all Bioware.

BEWARE OF BIOWARE.

Well obviously those weird commenters know best! Check yourself in the mirror at least a few more times before you come to a conclusion!

It's all in the name, if you really think about it! BioWare... Bio- from the Greek, means life; Ware - from Old English waru, or 'object of care', meaning items of the same kind destined for sale, but in this context used probably as a shortened form of 'software' (defined, of course, as the programs and other operating information used by a computer). So... software meant to be used by, maybe even in living beings... Sounds like a bunch of cyborgs to me!

Now that's what I call a logical conclusion!

I am Legion.

If we called the BioWare offices in Edmonton, do you suppose we'd get this voicemail message?

Canadian+Borg.+Hell+if+they+are+canadian

(I do not know who to attribute this to... A friend of mine has had an animated .gif of this for years as an lj user picture, but the forum wouldn't allow me to post it, so this other, non-animated version floating about the internet will have to do. The French, for those of you who can't understand it, reads "For assimilation in French, press 2." As a background, since this is an international forum, Canada is officially bilingual so all federal government offices are required by law to provide service in both French and English. Therefore, we often get voicemail messages that tell us to press 2 for French.)

Nice to see the cupcakequisition get mentioned on a msm gaming site!

Anyhoooo I was thinking about armours, specifically for warriors, both Aveline's and Meredith's were perfect for their roles.

Out of the fantasy genre for a moment, but gee, I also loved Faora-Ul's armour in Man of Steel.

Oh my gossshhh I'm so glad you reminded me of her. I was so attracted to her look in that movie!! I'm not a fan of the boob cups but otherwise I think she looks great. I loved the way she moved, too - strong, intimidating, evil.  Hehe.

May model a lady Inquisitor after her!

Ok, back to female Inquisitors... (I don't want to derail things!) Maybe this has already been covered earlier in the thread, but there's a lot of pages to go through, and I was late to the game. :/

Some of the devs have pointed out that there are a lot of women in powerful roles in the DA Universe - Empress Celene, the priesthood of Andraste, Flemeth, etc. And we've also heard that there will be some reactivity from NPCs, based at least on the race and (I think?) the gender we select. Do you think it would be interesting if, while interacting with powerful Thedas women, the Inquisitor would get treated maybe a little different based on gender? I think it could be interesting, but I wouldn't want it to be a really big difference, I think. Mainly because I would find that if I received some privileges from, say, Celene, for playing a female Inquisitor, I'd feel really awkward about privilege being turned on its head, creating disadvantages for those who choose to play as male. That's not what equality is about, after all.

Who is that actress? I haven't seen Man of Steel but I'm digging that armor she's wearing and that serious business expression she's got.

Yeah she is hot in that armor.  :D   I could gaze for awhile.

I ended up replying in the posts with The Escapists.  I felt it needed to be said, not all were female that helped with that.

ladyiolanthe   think I spelled that right, sorry if I didn't.  It might be alright to have responses from gender choice but some things to be mentioned could be wrong.

example to that and stated before: "Im a woman and Im the bravest one here."  It was mixed feelings of some didn't mind and others not liking it. I wouldn't want it repeated for those that didn't like it at all.

Ok, if I can remember this, I will model an inquisitor after Antje. She is great looking in that armor. She isn't sexualized but I find her very sexy.

Interesting question. I don't think I'd want any kind of special treatment or anything that points my gender out. At most maybe a "hey you remind me of my long lost sister!" which makes the NPC a little kinder to you.

I think I've said a number of times I don't really want gender specific dialogue aside from the romances. But I know others do, but it's not something I'm personally keen on. I'm happy for differences to be recognised on races because it's part of the world (eg when my elf warden gets talked down to by humans).

I mean I left that movie torn over who I was crushing on more - her or Superman. :P

*snip*

I loved Aveline and Meredith's armour, too, and that armour from Man of Steel ain't so shabby either. I really get tired of the joke that chainmail bikinis have a "distraction bonus" because a) if you are a female fighting humanoids such as Darkspawn, they are probably not going to be "distracted" because they are so completely alien; b.) if you are a female fighting humanoids such as Orcs, they probably have a completely different standard of beauty and/or are just trying to kill you before you kill them, so they are not going to be "distracted"; and c) if you are a female fighting humanoids exactly like yourself, if they are trained soldiers, they are going to be trying their hardest to kill you before you kill them, meaning, again, they won't get "distracted"; d) animals like DA dragons, blight wolves, regular wolves, bears, etc. are definitely not going to be "distracted".
