I was talking about how games are built and marketed, not how people play them.

 

DA:I has done a great job (mostly) communicating that you can play as women, but throughout the industry and game culture the assumption is that you will play as a man. Not playing as a man is seen as a cosmetic preference, or to do with what you identify as. The thought that there might be an interesting story to tell about a woman seems completely alien to most people.

To be fair, if you click on "Read More" for the mage class, Vivienne is front and center. But I think it couldn't have hurt to have a lady on the main class page, too.

Yeah I know and rogues get Varric while warriors get... the male inquisitor. 

 

This is why I'd like to see a female inquisitor in there somewhere and it would highlight the gender options mentioned at the top of the class page too and then all we need is a few of the races to really change it up.    

 

Honestly I'd like to see more images of her on the site even if in the gallery section where you can find pics of the male inquisitor already. I'm glad others post the various twitter pics because they're really cool but since I don't have (nor want) twitter I would miss them otherwise. It would be nice if they were posted on the main website too for others who don't follow twitter/facebook as well is all. Just my opinion of course.

@WildOrchid   I was going to write something differently but decided to write that question just for sarcasm. I failed to make it out as that way, sorry.   I stared at her as well trying to figure if I could see anything that might prove male or female.

 

I wont say, I stare at women asses....actually I do.  Which I got to tease a friends wife about. I was checking this girl out, who checked his wife out. I later told his wife she was being checked out by a lady cause I was checking that lady out myself.   His wife finds that gross, which is fun to tease her on cause she doesn't like that. I only teased her once in a great while when something related comes up, not just out of the blue though.

The gameplay vids have been great, although I'm generally a kinaesthetic learner so I wont really fully appreciate what they're showing us until I play the game myself!

Darker skinned female dwarf with red hair?

 

(okay that was actually a design I had in mind for one of my many dwarfs ((most of them are going to be on the darker side)) but it would still be an Inquisition of color none the less)

 

Or darker skinned male elf that would be interesting as well.

Who is this we've you speak of? Because I'm not part of that we"ve since I like to see more the female Inquisitor.

 

If you want to see more of the male Inquisitor, create a thread about that. This a thread for femquisitor.

Only if there's already a thread about wanting to see more of the male inquisitor. It doesn't hurt to try in any case.

I have to admit, I really don't mind if there are only short hairstyles or pinned-up long hairstyles for Inquisitors. While it might be nice to be able to have long, flowing locks when safely holed up in the Inquisition HQ, it doesn't really make sense for me whilst out adventuring, exploring, and questing. I used to be in law enforcement and long, flowing locks were an officer safety issue. 

 

For battle yes it could be a safty issue but so can not wearing helmets and both are easy for the player to choose how realistic or unrealistic their hero is. I love long flowing hair some characters I create have to have it and others can go shorter. But the way I see it ancient Chinese did just fine with hair down to their knees during battle some didn't bother to pin/pull it up either its I guess bravado like to have it down and dare someone to get close enough to pull on it becuase if you're that good they won't be able to, its all in how you see the hair issue though.

There is a new video with Alix Wilton Regan!  I really like how she went for strength with the Inquisitor.  I think it's going to suit the protagonist regardless of race.

Gah...I was sure I was gonna use the American VA for my first playthrough...now I can't decide again.

 

And as a sidenote, Alix seems like a seriously cool person.
