Well that's nice that we all are hopefully over that then. Anyway, I'd agree with Tiger that an elf female is basically traditional female and I think that would be a pretty cool trailer personally.
Could we please see more of the Lady Inquisitor?

Please stop using the term "traditional".
Just.. stop.
Thanks, Zen.
Kefka, it's late so I'm having trouble putting my thoughts into words. But I think you deserve to know why I support Zen's request there, so here goes: "Traditional" is kind of a loaded term when applied to women. It has a lot of negative connotations, mainly to do with the marginalized spaces women have "traditionally" occupied (and continue to occupy) in many different societies. But from the context of your posts, I'm not certain that's what you mean when you use the word. Rather, I get the feeling that you're using it the same way the phrase "conventionally attractive" is used, and that has a whole lot of other negative connotations, mainly to do with the tendency to place value on women for their appearance rather than their accomplishments or personality traits, not to mention being dismissive of a huge number of women who don't fall into the narrow constraints of conventional beauty.
Ok, I am off to bed now. Good night all.

Really?
Ok so, I would like to see the human female inquisitor? As in, the DA image of the human female. Period. End.
You are not going to somehow assume that statement means that I somehow want giant anime boobs (from anime I've literally never seen nor would ever watch but apparently you have knowledge of these kinds of anime) which I never said at all, on everything and am a sociopathic irredeemable troll even though I cited characters from shows that didn't even remotely meet the standard of "conventional" beauty or whatever (Haruyuki in Accel) that I find interesting and so on, while also adding that I dislike games like League of Legends that seem to put excessive attention on males via females?
I am not even the first person to use the term "traditional" female, and only picked it because I thought it was safe considering both Tiger and Brass referenced some idea of a 'traditional" female idea first, and seeing as they weren't subjected to unrelenting criticism, figured I was safe. I guess not. I'm 100% honest when I say I never would of used it without looking prior into the past to see if I could find something no one appeared to object to, but alas.
But you know what, despite all that, I still really don't care, if this works then great.

Good morning. No, I don't think you're a sociopathic irredeemable troll; I think you just didn't know, which is why I tried to politely point the problem out to you. And I admit that I had noticed aTigersLunch used it once (although not BrassBuckles), so I probably should not have singled anyone out. I was tired and I still had all your other posts going back to page 217 on my mind. Please accept my apologies for singling you out last night.
And yes, by all means, if what you'd like to see is a female human (or elven) Inquisitor in a trailer, period, the end, that's perfect. Saying it that way doesn't bring any negative connotations at all into your statement. And there are quite a few people in this thread who share your interest in seeing a female human (or elven) Inquisitor in a trailer or other marketing product.

"Traditional" is kind of a loaded term when applied to women.
To be honest, I really can't see why it wouldn't be 'loaded' when applied to men.
On-topicish : I liked that they used a female qunary during the demo and I hope to see a female dwarf next. These 2 gender-race combinations are the only ones not represented by followers and as such I have no idea how they look like in the game.

Darker skin lady dwarf please. I have been itching to see what the female dwarfs look like in game so far. I'm also curious about male elves as well since the F!Elf PC to me looked quite different than Sera I'm wondering now if M!Elf PCs would look much different than Solas, but this is a thread for the Female Inquisitor so again I'd love to see a darker toned lady dwarf pretty please with all the strawberries, pomegranates, and other yummy things on top.

I like seeing the female Qunari Inquisitor. She looks good. Not sure if that's the default female. I'm sure the Arishok from DA2 would be weak in the knees seeing her.
I like to see a human female Inquisitor without a helmet whether its through a trailer or sreeenshot
I've seen the female Elf Inquisitor in a screenshot. Not sure if that was a custom female or default female Elf.
As mentioned above, I like to see the female Dwarf Inquisitor.
If for some reason I don't get to see their faces before release, I won't lose any sleep. Of course it would be nice to see a trailer or screenshots showing all 4 of the femquisitors before release.

This sounds good to me. Very keen to see a lady dwarf at long last, and it would be great to see them show off some of the darker skin tones from the CC to further prove that Inquisitors of colour will not look purple. (Not that there's anything wrong with being purple, I guess, but it wasn't what I was looking for when I slid the skin colour slider all the way to the right in DAO.)

They'd get two birds in one stone this way that's for sure and I'm keen to see what some of the darker tones will look like especially since I plan quite a few characters to be on the darker side. Yeah I know we have Vivienne to show off that nice dark tone but I'd like the see the others in between, so unless they are going with all default PCs for each sex and race I think there's a good shot we'll get to see how the darker tones look on the engine before release, at least I hope so.

Seriously, since female dwarves didn't exist in DA2, I've pretty much lost all context of what they're supposed to look like in this setting. And dark skin, yes please.
Seeing a full demo or trailer with a human or elf female would also be nice. Maybe a rogue, finally.

Hey me too! At the very least maybe we will see her if they do a character creator demo!
Yep, it really is that simple.
Yeah a character creator demo would be really cool! ![]()
In the meantime having the different inquisitors showing off different options in races, skin tones, eye colours, hair colours and styles and so on would be a nice teaser too. The more the merrier! ![]()

But you know what, despite all that, I still really don't care, if this works then great.
I should point out that I used "traditionally attractive" when I meant "conventionally." I don't think I only said "traditional women" which has an entirely different meaning.
I'm not here to argue semantics, though, but I will point out that you, and some others, are getting unnecessarily aggressive with one another. I agree that some of the things you've said have been downright offensive--no, I'm not calling you a sociopath--but some of the others in the thread have been hostile toward you as well due to your apparent lack of understanding of precisely why your comments have been offensive.
Reminder to everyone: if someone's posts are upsetting you, the "ignore" button is an option, and so is leaving the thread for other parts of BSN (and return later with a cooler head, if you wish).
I also feel the need to point out that if you offend someone, that person is not obligated to explain to you what you have said or done to offend them, especially since you did, a few pages ago, spend several posts complaining that no one would tell you what was offensive/making them angry, when several of us had explained our take on it several times.
I knew what you meant by "traditional female," and I knew what I meant by "traditionally attractive" even though I used the wrong word--so I'm not going to get offended by the loaded history of the word. I had considered making a post asking what constituted "traditional" for a female character so I'll go into that now. The great masters? Women should either be pleasantly plump, then, or as muscular as men and fairly flat-chested as well, depending which one. Modern presentation of women with a certain body type is a very recent thing. In fact, the "ideal" body type changes from decade to decade. In the 1920s the flapper look emphasized a more androgynous female form. Marilyn Monroe was considerably curvier/rounder than our present day standard. In the 1980s, a more athletic physique was preferred. Today, it's the tall-skinny-hourglass look.
However, it is offensive to write off all women characters who fail to meet modern beauty standards as being something you absolutely don't want to see in-game--as others have continuously reminded you, real women come in all shapes and sizes, and the media presents a standard that only a tiny fraction of women worldwide can fit into. Women can vary from that shape and still be attractive. And yet, women in media have far fewer variations in body type (and even facial type) than men (even considering very minor variations)--it's especially true in games, and that is why so many of us in this thread are so thrilled with the female qunari Inquisitor, even though we would also like to see the humans and elves as well. The lady qunari doesn't even deviate much from the generic body shape formula for women--but enough so that it's noticeable.
Part of the reason that this formula exists, though, is that MANY people buy into it because it's what advertising tells them is sexy and right, and then, like you, they say that's all they want--even though, realistically, some of them are, or are married to, or are dating, women with considerably different body shapes than what they say they want. And that's the sticky issue--because by saying that's the only lady worth showing, you're saying women who look any other way are not worth portraying. That's not okay.
If the Lady Qunari's body were swapped out with a human head and skintone and scaled to human height proportionally, would it still be offensive to you? She is a bit noodle-armed, but otherwise she just looks like a toned, athletic woman. Even if that's not your type, some guys will find that very attractive, and I personally love it because she looks physically capable of leading an Inquisition across Thedas, rather than just across a movie set. (Edited to add: Note, however, that I'm a straight woman, not a straight man, and therefore what I prefer my female avatar to look like is not necessarily what you would prefer--and that this is also true of what other women would prefer and what other men would prefer. People are not all the same.)
I think, for the sake of a game where the protagonist must be active, mobile, and a capable fighter, a more athletic look makes sense. And, of course, even if her physique does tend to a more hourglass shape, armor, robes, etc. will tend to make her look bulkier and will often conceal her curves. I'd rather that happen--since it doesn't leave me wondering how she survives with that cleavage window/wearing a chainmail bikini--than have her trot around in metal lingerie just to show off her body.
Still, it being a form of media, yes, BioWare will strive to give every body model for the Inquisitor a certain standard of conventional attractiveness, within the framework of that body type. This, unfortunately, means that even if female body types actually get varied, the variance will be limited.
I would personally like to see the elven and human female Inquisitors, as well as the male qunari, male elf, male human, and of course both sexes for the dwarves. My personal first playthrough is going to be a Dalish woman and my second is likely to be a qunari woman. Still, I enjoy seeing a variety of the characters and might choose to do another playthrough as something else at some point.
Meh. I'm rambling. I have had so. Little. Sleep. the last couple of nights... I'm not sure if anything I typed even makes sense in context.

Yes, I did use that term once. Sorry. I try to avoid it cause it is offensive. I cant remember why I chose to at that time, in that post, but I did. So, will just correct myself and try not to use it again. I might of meant to convey words but mistyped words. My mind is actually a little dyslexic in thought patterns. I tend to think end first and move to beginning in some and confuse myself. Though I normally read fine, just thought pattern is chaotic.

I haveta say, the arms still are a bit of a headscratcher to me...they just don't feel solid/large enough given the rest of her frame? Maybe its the super large shoulder pauldrens or whatever thats messing me up. My first playthrough is probably Qunari Warrior and something just isn't quite working for me? But that could just be me and even if it isn't it is most definitely a nitpick. I'm really glad femqunari Inquisitor has gotten so much attention/'screentime' in the marketing thus far!
Anyways, if they are posting pics like this I certianly hope that means Sera isn't racegated against the Qunari ![]()
