A bit surprised too. The Femquisitor run animation didn't really shock me though. Femhawke running looked a bit silly but at the same time I found it kind of endearing. And to be fair, Malehawke hardly had it better: the males looked so awkward and stiff with the chin turned up way too high. Don't even get me started on Fenris "run" or should I say "little froggy leaps" that would have made Kermit proud if only he could walk.
Could we please see more of the Lady Inquisitor?

Of course, there is starting to be some push back against seeing so much of her in in-game footage...as any game sites comment section will show you
I'm glad we saw the human female at Gamescom (that hair still has me freaking out), and I'm grateful that showing female Inquisitor wasn't a one and done kinda thing and that they are sticking with her. However, I'm guessing at PaxPrime and the next big shows we will see a big push for male Inquisitor/as the date gets closer. Which isn't really a problem, I'd love to see a male Elven rogue next. I'm just irked that theres been any sort of negativity around femquisitor getting some screentime. Every time I see male Inquisitor in the trailers I don't roll my eyes and go 'of course they used a dude ugh'.
I'm really hoping we will get 4 Inquisitor trailers, one with each voice actor narrating.
The way I figure it, all this pushback just illustrates exactly why it's important. Remember when people kept trying to tell us that it didn't matter whether there were women in the marketing materials? If it doesn't matter which gender they use, then why are male gamers now getting so upset that they aren't represented 100% of the time? Why can't they just shut up and focus on the actual game, as was so often suggested to us?

Oh absolutely. My favorite comment was on about the Gamescom demo on youtube. Some dude asking, completely seriously "Wait, I'm confused, can you play as a dude in this game?" ![]()
Gee I dunno...watch a trailer...look at past Bioware game...look at the official website...other ingame footage...

Does that mean my thread getting pushback means that its topic is important too?

As if there has ever, in the entire history of video games, been a customizable protagonist with no male option whatsoever. ![]()
(Of course, now that I've said it, there is probably some obscure JRPG out there with a customizable female-only protagonist.)

I don't mean to imply that every controversy means that something is a big social justice issue. It's just that they've completely flipped their position. If it didn't matter when they were all men, then why does it matter now that they are not all men?
I think your thread got pushback mostly due to derailment, more than the actual content of your request (which I don't think was any less valid than any other request for features).

Depends what you mean by 'customizable'.

It is rather ironic.
Yeah, apparently the reason it was shut down was miscommunication. It has to be that if what I posted is viewed as 'disrespectful' to those asking for better LGBT and female representation and content.

Sent you one. As for Allan, he sent me one but I'd rather not talk about what he said. And I can't really send it to any of the others here though since they have their page set to private so for those who want to help please send me one.
So in short: Help me, oceanicsurvivor. You're my only hope. ![]()

Is not surprising some male gamers are getting angry about the female inquisitor being seen so much, their generally the people who don't want women in their games whatsoever apart from them being eye candy, such as the time i had an admittedly childish argument with a guy who was trashing DA2 just cos female Hawke existed, he considered FemHawke as "lame pandering to the feminist agenda" & that Hawke should have been male only ![]()

or they just aren't used to seeing so much attention on a female character, lets not jump to any conclusions about people's character

What I also find interesting is that the demos have been leaning towards female while the trailers have been largely male. I wonder whether there is any reason for this? Is it because the trailers require more levels of approval, and it's harder to convince the higher ups to let them use the female version? Whereas it seems like they've been able to choose which race/gender/class they use for the demos on a whim? Or is it deliberate?
I think the point is that Trailer Inquisitor is the polar opposite of Default Shepard, he's there to represent whatever you want to make your character. His interesting character traits are the glowing hand and the helmet, available to all Inquisitors, everything else about him is default. In our society of course the default adventure protagonist is a white man, anything other than that would have stood out more than was desired. It's the same as he doesn't have an awesome mustache because that would have too much character.
Outside of the trailers customisable characters is a feature you need to explain, so there's more women and mustaches.
If you want to be pessimistic, then it might also be a case of not making insecure people feel more insecure, but they did have the one female human trailer.

In Dragon Age 2 there was no attention placed on the female character. Not even a reversable cover like Mass Effect 3. No trailers that I can recall. So I don't think anyone's leaping to conclusions. At most its a bunny hop.

Id say is abit of both, some ain't used to seeing female characters getting promoted & it confuses them if they don't know much about the game being advertised, others just don't want or like women in their games at all & will get angry & insulting about it when it happens.

I think one reason some may be wanting to see less female coverage is not so much to do with females at all but rather they just want to see how the males look. We still need a close up of the Dwarf, Elf, and Qunari Males.

I am dying to see a close up of how the male elves and qunari look especially the qunari.
still want to see a lady dwarf Inquisitor I know we saw an NPC but I'd really love to see an Inquisitor one all the same.

Very true, we do need to see those.
I definitely want to see them at least. If thats what people wanted I would hope they would phrase it as such instead of 'ugh, more of X that I don't want', when "I still really want to see Y" would be much more precise and accurate.
But yes, I really want to see the male elf and male Qunari models!

Yeah, this is true..but some Male gamers are so used to begin pandered too, that they can't fathom anything else. I think female gamers and LBGT just need to be persistent so change can happen. But not hatefully persistent..

Maybe, but the male Inquisitor is still the poster boy in the promotional trailers. I mean we see them both so is it really a big deal?

We see both genders, yes, but not of all races. Say someone is undecided which race they want to go with. That could be a big deal for them and seeing the body and face structures may help them decide.

Male Elf and Male Qunari are the two ones I want to see most too. Followed by Female Dwarf and Male Dwarf.

I had zero interest in making a dwarven inquisitor until I saw the female scout commander in that latest trailer. She is super adorable. And it looks like Dwarves have their own frame/specialized design this time, which is nice.
