I don't want to play ameatur moderator, but seriously, talking about unrelated locked threads is the second fastest way to get a thread lock here, right behind making a thread about a locked thread.
I think one reason some may be wanting to see less female coverage is not so much to do with females at all but rather they just want to see how the males look. We still need a close up of the Dwarf, Elf, and Qunari Males.
I think female protagonists and character customisation are separate issues really.
If they want to show character customisation then it needs its own space - if not a trailer then lots of tweeting. I doubt they'll have enough games conventions to complete everyone's Inquisitor wishlist.

Well, we know how the Elf Female looks via tweets. So it is quite possible they may do that for one or two more.
I remember my femhwake has a lot more sway then what the video shows. I've never had her wear that armor either, so that might make a difference.
Either you modded it or you remember wrong because that is the vanilla animation. And that armor is the initial one rogues get at the beginning so if you've ever played a rogue, you've used it. But anyway: no, armor doesn't change the animation in any case.
Overall the impression I get is we're grasping at straws. "no, the walking doesn't really matter, only the run" / "I won't use it much" / "no, it's probably just the armor". Kinda like "no, I don't want it to be true". And nobody actually saying "whoa that looks kickass".
Now more than ever I appreciate this article.
And if she didn't already exist, BioWare would never have created her.
The moment they start thinking they're making a woman they just can't help themselves, can they.
I'll be playing with a female dwarf first. She ties in with my Vey Brosca (my canon warden) and Vivan Hawke. I have 7 playthroughs lined up. lol I could see me using my female human mage warden/Hawke with the a quinari mage inquisitor. I will play at least one male as I have a male human noble/ male hawke playthrough and will choose a human male for inquistior. I have two female elf wardens (a city elf and a dalish one) I'm not quite sure if I'm going to have two female inquisitors to match that as the elven choice in DAI is always dalish. Besides races and classes I don't have exact plans on my inquistors. I know others like to speculate romances, but since we really don't know much about them (or even who the other two are) i'm not going to worry about it.
I really disliked the running animation of ladyHawke. I didn't care that she *walked* with a sway, it was that really silly run. It was the swaying walk sped up or very much looked like it. I thought it looked really bad.

Yeah, it wasn't so much the walk, but the run that looked really bad. The new run animation is much better. the degree of the sway is much less pronounced now.
If people wish to discuss my motivations and commentary in closing the other thread, where would you best like to do it? Someone want to make a group?
Yeah, this is true..but some Male gamers are so used to begin pandered too, that they can't fathom anything else.
If someone creates a game do you think the majority would
- have a protagonist that is like them or is someone they would like to be?
- when applicable, create a world they want to live in or they think is cool?
- have characters they find aesthetically pleasing?
I think people create games they would like to play and hence 'pander' to themselves. When a group is disproportionately represented at the producers side don't expect it to be proportionally represented at the product side. There are of course other factors in play but it wouldn't hurt to take this in consideration when shifting all the blame to (white straight) men.
"Gamers are used to play games male players like to play and some (a lot?) male players can't phantom anything else" is what you should have said.
I would like to see every race/gender combination whether it are protagonists, followers or NPCs. It would be very unwise if they would implement this by using only female protagonists in trailers and demo's, but I wouldn't care.

What blame? They keyword in what I said was 'some'..I never stated all men where like that, and I certainly wasn't shifting the blame to the entirety of the male race.

You're right. Sorry!

I'm not wrong. I just was playing one of my saves with femhawke as a mage and she has more sway then is shown in the video. And since I play on a ps3, modding can't be done

Or one of those open chat things would work too.
I'm completely fine with this animation, plus quizzy runs better than Hawke i must say. I've never had a problem on how Hawke walked (only in cutscenes she was literally a male copy, the same walking and animation as male).
Shepard on the other hand.... oh boy. If only i could kill that mental image of hers running and walking.

Well i for one would like a trailer (just like the dude one) with the female quizzy, but that's not going to happen right?
They only used the male for trailer and first videos/pics and he was everywhere in the dragon age site. So using the female for demos only is something we needed.
Also what is this thread people keep talking about?

Well, they did use a Female Inquisitor in the trailer that showcased Blackwall, Iron Bull, Sera, and Vivienne.

No, i mean a trailer similar to the dude one. The first we see.... and thanks for the link. ![]()

I like how the first trailer had the Inquisitor be ambiguous by having them silhouetted in a sandstorm.
You're welcome. ![]()
If and when something happens to talk about this, I would very much like to be a part. I'm not going to say why here because it's public and much of what I have to say is very private and sensitive.

Was in response to this.
double post
It might be best if we don't continue the walk animation discussion in this thread, since that thread also got locked. I also don't think much more can be said about it, at this point.
Hypothetically, if the marketing for Inquisition were finished as of this moment, would you be satisfied with the amount of focus that the female Inquisitor got? Would you feel like they should have done more?

Since I am a greedy person I don't think I'd be 100% happy until I saw at least some screen shots of Inquisitors of every race female and male. I also would have loved another trailer with a female PC so I could show it to friends that are interested in games like this but not sure if they'd like to pick up a copy and really have no reason to watch the demos.
I hate both of those walks the "super model" walk is a bad choice in every game I see it in. The vids I saw of her fighting was fine from the breif glimpses I could see of her at E3 but that sway is unnatural they should just have her move like Jodi or male inquisitioner you do not need to dislodge her pelvis cuz she's a woman and we need to prove it. I wish that walk style would die or developers allow us to pick the walk cycle for both M and F heros so we can have the male model, fem model, male average, fem average it would be great to see the character walk and say press X to cycle through slow walk, light jog, and fast sprint and while the character is in motion (or not) you can hold RB or LB to spin them so you can see the gaint from all angles to pick the one that is most to your liking similar to how in Dragon's Dogma you can get the character to walk and pose in order to see if the body model you're applying to it works well with the animations they have.
