She runs like a girl, which wouldn't be an issue if performance wasn't a factor.

That ad always makes me sad. To do something "like a girl" means to do it spastically, inefficiently, cowardly, and all around poorly. The fact that the little girls didn't have that brainwashing gives me hope for the younger generations though.

AusGamers Chats with Dragon Age: Inquisition Producer Cameron Lee

AusGamers: I noticed that the female lead that we saw today [during the stage presentation] had a little bit more armour than I’m used to seeing in an action-RPG, so it’s almost like there’s this seriousness behind it as well. What sort of tone are you going for?

Cameron: That’s a great question, and the armour actually plays a part of that. You look at… the tone is more moody, I guess, and that’s because the events that are transpiring in the world are quite serious now. We spent the last two games building up this sense of chaos and strife over the world, and a lot of the books have got the same thing; we’ve tried to build up this thing. So the world now is in absolute chaos. The big rift is in the sky, as you know, there is someone behind it, which you got a first look at today in the trailer, which I was just wrapped with, so yeah, ****’s gotten real.

AusGamers: That’s the tagline, right?

Cameron: Exactly. That should be the tagline. Not, ‘Lead them or fall’, but ‘****’s got real’. That’s reflected in the art, that’s reflected in the armour and things you can create through characters and dialogue and choices you make, and you lead this big inquisition, this organisation and, again, you saw a very small clip, and hopefully you get a chance to play it as well back here, but the war table where you can command the inquisition and do this 300 or more operations and unlock different parts of the world to go and explore. Again, they’re all themed in this context of the world’s in strife.

So.. female characters require a serious setting in order not to be skimpy? The hell? :D

I am not worried about it. But I dont know guys. We have light grey Qunari ladies, White Human ladies, a few shots of also white elven ladies. Other than a bit of concept art and only one, there has been nearly no WoC, like, at all.

I mean they havent shown off Female Lavellan yet, other than that tweet. Hopefully at some con, they can show a WoC. And they haven't shown Cadash at all other than online.

I mean, having all White women representing women, is like having all men representing humanity. Personally, I dont want any more women, unless they are WoC.

Or men of colour, for that matter.  The brief glimpse of the CC that we got at least showed a dark-skinned human male for a second, but it would be great to see more.

I think the PoC players deserve it, not only from a representation standpoint, but because there is so much concern about how well darker skin will be rendered in this game.

Oh yeah, There really needs to be MoC but as the "female thread" WoC seemed more apropos. But yes. Vivienne, and a glimpse at character creator are great. But to really show it off, why not Show a Black Inquisitor in a trailer? Or have a demo with a WoC dwarf/Elf or even of those we have already seen, like humans and Qunari. Show off customization and go into nature of Dialogue by showing a different Inquisitor? Or maybe just some tweets?

I'd be happy with screenshots really.

Tired of my darker colored characters looking more like grapes.

Thanks aTigerslunch... currently out of likes again so "like" for everyone after Lady Nuggins who scored my last like apparently. :D

Seriously I never seem to have enough likes and I can never quite figure out when I'm randomly going to find myself with a few more and when they'll end too.

Also is it just me or did the pick your race/class/gender thing on the main website vanish again for other people too? It's back to just the regular warrior, mage, rogue from before on the Aussie page for me now.  :(

It did vanish, under Scuttlebutt, their is a thread on New Class section on main site, page 17, posted by Liae Naelyon. She put the information there.

Thanks aTigerslunch, I saw the info initially and then I was sick yesterday and today it was gone so I was somewhat puzzled. Hope the page does get put back up again and that it's only down for edits and whatever else was noted in the other thread.

I thought it was a really cool way of showing race/gender/class combos though the helmets tend to cover up the faces of three of the races and makes it hard to really see them compared to the qunari I still liked it. Now if some of the pics could have been PoC that would be fantastic!  B)

Is it just me or did all the pics of humans, dwarves and elves have very shiny white skin tones?  Lighting, the helmets or something else maybe?

Hopefully the page returns to the site so I can look for more details to obsess over.  :P

Your welcome, and to add, the pictures are there on that page I mentioned in previous post. :)

I agree, and I took notice that different classes have thinner arms, like the mage elf versus rogue elf, or it was just my imagination or their outfit deceiving me. Already obsessed with this game and its not out yet.....yikes, when it comes out....double yikes.  So long Earth, was nice knowing you, see you again in a year or so.

They all look white to me, and they do have a lot of lighting to bring out their features more.

It pains me to say this, since I am all for female representation, but the thought of a female warrior dwarf Inquisitor swaying her hips and flinging her arms out to her sides makes me cringe almost as much as the thought of female warrior Qunari Inquisitor doing the same.

I cannot get over the walking animation.  I just can't.

Funny you should mention that - I just posted a similar comment in a different thread.

And I personally think the run animation still leaves a lot to be desired.

I really can't go there. T_T

It may sound stupid to some, but the walk/run will prevent me from making a female Inquisitor any time soon.

I can't.

It flies in the face of everything I want her to be.

I can understand how you feel. I think I'm very slowly starting to feel the same way. I do love the American VA, and I'm sure the CC is going to allow me to create the exact character I have in mind... but that walk is so off-putting!

I don't know. Maybe I won't mind it once I start the game.

Sorry to hear that Sandal, it doesn't really bother me, as I wasn't actually watching her. I was focused on everything else around the world. I will have to focus on her....without falling in love then to see it.  I don't stare at my own characters I create, or tend to think of them in certain ways. Its almost them being me, male or female and find it detaching. I could and have done that with some set protags, Catwoman in Batman games is an example. I don't consider her a part of me, cause I didn't create her, I am just playing a known character, so Im watching their story. Lora Craft is the same way, the males are detached as well cause its set characters. I can't get into them that much if I didn't create them. Basically, those games are just long drawn out movies that I can interact with. If it has a cc, then I can get attached, less again they are supposed to be specific predetermined personalities.

Walks might get my attention to a degree, but inquisitions world is so brilliant, I doubt I can pay attention to her like as I could with DA2s, environment isn't as alive.

I think I might stick with Qunari females til the mod for the run comes out. I don't mind it so much on femQunaris.

I didn't think it was that bad at first then I watched another demo video and just >_> nope.

Aren't you using your first two runs on Dorian and Bull though?
