I can understand how you feel. I think I'm very slowly starting to feel the same way. I do love the American VA, and I'm sure the CC is going to allow me to create the exact character I have in mind... but that walk is so off-putting!

I don't know. Maybe I won't mind it once I start the game.

Wait, how can I hear the American VA?  Male American VA too??

We have yet to hear the Male American VA.

I don't think we've heard Sumalee either.

I'm pretty sure it's Alix in Gamescom.

Aren't you using your first two runs on Dorian and Bull though?

No, most likely Dorian and Solas or Blackwall.

Bull will be later with a male Dwarf lol.

I had wanted to eventually make a female character.  I wasn't able to complete DA2 with FemHawke because of the massive hip sway and hoped things would be different this time around.

It may sound stupid to some, but the walk/run will prevent me from making a female Inquisitor any time soon.

I can't.

It flies in the face of everything I want her to be.

From what I've seen of the femquisitors shown in gameplay, the sway is not as bad as it was in DA2. For me anyways. This is coming from a male. But I won't let it stop me from playing a femquisitor. The majority of the time I will be focused on the gameplay and not on my character.

And no it doesn't sound stupid that you won't play as femquisitor. Its your right. Stick to your guns

Damn, was DA2's that bad?

I have never ran a female DA PC yet.

I just want to play as a badass that doesn't give a damn about being sexy. She would be no nonsense and confident, and choose lots of "direct" or "aggressive" (whatever they are labeling them now) dialogue choices.

The walk and run would just totally break that characterization for me.

It bothers me more on femQunari.

Alas, I'll be on PS4, so I won't have the benefit of mods.

Hm...to each their own I guess. To me it fits my femQunari who are gonna be a bit sassy anyway.

Yikes. *hugs*

I figure if I can ignore Alpha Protocol's stealth animations I can ignore anything. Not that that makes it okay.

It's like she has a some sort of built-in motor or something.

IMO, it was terribad.

Especially if she was a warrior wearing plate armor.  I had to stop fairly early on.

It's as if, no matter how I wanted her to be:

Being a sexy piece of eye candy is what *she* wanted to be.

And also, ultimately it seemed that that's what she was *created* to be by being given those animations

I just couldn't, and while it is not as pronounced in femQuisitor, it is still there.  She moves too delicately.  I have no other way to describe it, but the walk does not fit a badass. Not to me at least.

Just a suggestion. You could, when you have the game in hand, is play a femquisitor to see if its as bad as you see in the video. If it is, change to a malequisitor. Again, this is only a suggestion.

I like that you're going for the no-nonsense female.

I'm not happy with it either. My only working solution is to never walk anywhere. :/ My female Qunari is going to HUSTLE. everywhere.

Because, yeah, I can't stand it. <_<

Yeah, perhaps I will eventually test it out for myself.  I always planned on making mostly male characters anyway, but I really want to make a badass female character as well.  Someone similar to Cassandra.

People like what they like. Don't feel bad about not minding it. I'm a gay guy who doesn't think it's that bad.

I thought the run was an improvement on Lady Hawke and it doesn't bother me at all. It's actually similar to the way my daughter runs. A bit more hip than you'd expect, but still functional. It's more fluid this time and the angles at which the hips sway aren't as sharp anymore. idec, though. I'm definitely playing as a female inquisitor for at least my first (and probably second) runs.

I had femhawke run mostly, barely walked, but her hips did sway a lot. Any other woman might had hip problems in real life it they tried it.

Honestly, I think I'll be too busy staring in awe at the scenery as I'm running along in-game to give a damn about what the character's butt looks like when she runs. :D The screenshots and trailers have been gorgeous.

And if all else fails, let another character take point. Bonus if you're romancing them and get to stare at their behind for hours on end.

As long as the run is neutral, I can deal with it.  The run, to me, was a far bigger deal in DA2, because people just... don't run that way.  I can at least choose not to see that walk by avoiding walking as much as possible.

This is the problem that I also have (never mind the fact that I really don't want to be looking at that animation).

It is really inappropriate for an Inquisitor. Women in authority just don't walk like that, at least not on company time. I can't create a character that could be an effective Inquisitor who would choose to walk like that.

That is what I did, I avoided walking much, considering walking seemed to take forever anyways. :)

Yeah... I just don't care. Not even something I have to 'deal with.' It doesn't bother me to begin with.

Not at all, it totally works for some characters I'd personally make, but wouldn't fit at all with others. I think it's just the fact that we don't get a choice and a neutral walk would let you roleplay in either direction (sexy and sassy or no-nonsense and practical) whereas a sexy runway walk is as limiting as a linebacker run would be and looks ridiculous on certain characters.

It's the run that bothers me =/
