Agreed.
@Lady Please don't tell me it's a white guy with stubble under that helm...
I'm pretty sure it was the same white human male who's been in all the trailers, so yeah... ![]()
Wait, what? Did they use the Isabella from the CGI trailer or something?
It's... okay, I just dug it up and took pictures because words can't describe how bad this is. Sorry some of these got flipped around when I uploaded them, but I think they make their point.
And the thing is, these aren't screenshots. They're clearly high res pictures that had to have been provided by Bioware. So how is she so white?
I was going to post the many, many full-page spreads of male Hawke, but it would be thread-breaking and unnecessary. Suffice to say, there are A LOT. I stopped at about 14 (and those were only the big ones). And again, most of them are high res illustrations, not screenshots. Bioware provided them. Bioware made the call to draw them, use them in their marketing, and send them to Piggyback. So I don't know if Piggyback can be blamed for this, at all.
Meanwhile, here's ALL the pictures of Lady Hawke in the book.
Yes, in one of the three times Lady Hawke appears on a page, that page has no less than four pictures of male Hawke, most of which are much bigger than hers. There are more pictures of him on that one page than there are of her in the entire 271 page book. And not a single full-body shot of her anywhere. Every companion gets a full body shot. Darkspawn get full body shots. Dog gets a full body shot. Not Lady Hawke.
And the underwear shot. May its infamy never be forgotten.
I forgot how much this bothered me, but it's a good reminder of how far this company has come in the span of one game. I don't expect the DAI guidebook to be like this at all. But let's not forget that it could have been this all over again.
