@Puppy Love, hopefully that's just one option and there's still a ball gown/fashionable dress option they haven't shown yet or you can craft something through the new crafting section, maybe see if ladyiolanthe can ask about it at the expo this weekend. I just asked the question in her other thread but maybe add your own spin too.

 

Love the pic on the previous page and I'll get around to the female human warrior... eventually. I'm also loving the picture from the ball and actually the uniform looks pretty cool to me.

 

@Bugsie I'm pretty sure it's a dark brotherhood quest, once inside you can't leave until you've killed all the other guests but yeah, you can't enter if you're not dressed right. And yeah options to dress for impact good or bad would be fun.

Me too.  I gave him a nice black and white suit that looked sharp.  Same design only with, you know, colors that didn't hurt my eyes.

Not looking in a completely dark room, not even a hint of light... and maybe wearing a helmet that severely impeded Hawke's vision (male or female and yes even mage).

My guess is that Vivienne will give is clothing for the ball, since Orlesian fashion is...difficult. If she only offers one outfit and there's no option to refuse, I hope we get the chance to react to it at least!

I'm thinking that's something Bodahn picked it out, believing it would be the height of Orlesian human fashion. I'm almost convinced that Sandal picked out the color scheme.

I prefer being called "Champion," so I always wait until Act 3.

Well yeah that explains it pretty well too and I can definitely see Bodahn and Sandal getting it so wrong on that one. Although if Leandra thought it looked good I'm wondering if living in Kirkwall affects people's good taste the same way it affects mages... badly apparently.

Yeah I guess the mage fashion-impairment is stretched to some carriers of mage blood as well.

It looks to me like the same kind of outfit as the white and tight suit, not an especially Orlesian ball outfit - note: no mask. So I'm guessing there are selectable out of combat outfits.

I'd say it's probably a pretty safe bet that you'll need a Gold subscription to play on either XBox console. That was the case for the MP in Mass Effect 3, after all.

 

You're probably right but AC blackflag did let free players on in a limited capacity so I was hoping I didn't have to pay for gold as it just hands out bugs to the 360 systems, its no coincidence that all the people I know who got gold get glitches galore and these things only started occurring after they bought gold. I know when I upgrade I'll be forced to pay for the service then but I'd really like to avoid it now for my current system.

 

 

 

There was a quest in Oblivion where you had to 'dress to impress' otherwise they wouldn't let you into the party, I think part of the thieves guild quests. In DA:I I'd like the option to 'dress to impress' either in something nice to appease those throwing the ball or have the option to dress completely inappropriately, and p*ss them off!

An impression doesn't always have to be positive you know!

 

Skyrim had one too I had to go to a party and I was soooo excited I went over to Solitary and bought up all the dresses and then went to several other cities to find jewelry, crowns, and rings then I tried them all on to find the best and most beautiful combo I could come up with even though most of the dresses look like crap I was trying to make it decent then I get to the meeting place she says, " oh no you can't wear that dress you spent 4 days creating wear this instead!" It was the most awful outfit I'd ever seen apparently when you get rich clothing it looks like you dug it out of a trash heep I couldn't wait to slaughter everyone in the party as a result and then I pretty much did by the end of the night!

 

For the photo it looks like the one in white is the woman and the one in red is hard to tell could go either way but as this is feminquisitor I'll assume its her but yeah I agree with others that outfit doesn't look good from at least that angle and yes I'd love to pick military with pants, military with skirt, pure fantasy regal ball gown, and a conservative but nicely detailed gown that doesn't fit like you vacuum sealed it onto her (aka the femshep/reporter gal look) the dresses and uniforms should be form fitting not circulation killing.

Honestly, my first thought was that they're two NPCs just dancing past the frame. I mean, the face of the one in red looks much less detailed/rendered than any of the Inquisitors we've seen so far, which would make sense if they're just background NPCs who you'll only see for a fraction of a second.

Hmmn... re-reading the original post with the picture reminded me even the poster is speculating as to who is in the picture... but it's the ball and possibly fem inquisitor and BSN so some of us get carried away over things like that! 

 

As for the guy in the background meh... we've seen way too many ridiculous hats now... every mage hat in previous games looks like a sack or worse so he's going to have to do better than that to get attention. 

 

Plus guessing and/or jumping to conclusions on the foreground characters is way more fun.

That picture looks like the two of them don't feel comfortable about dancing or they may not like each other. The guy on the left looks like he wants to cut in and dance with one of them.

It may be two random NPCs or maybe we get a choice? I also hope we're not forced to wear old man clothes as a woman again either >.< I mean even an unstylish dress would have been better. Why couldn't female Hawke at least have worn the same dress that all the noble women in DA2 wear but just different colors?

themikefest - At the BioWare booth today, I spoke with one of the animators. There will probably not be hairstyles down past the shoulders for any Inquisitors due to clipping issues.

Because alot of object , armor and weapons create clipping issue . Ex: Aveline Wesley Shield go trough her butt . It is still made and put in the game....none the less . 

And yes , I do get it and understand how hard it is.....to make long hair . Still....maybe one day I guess

Here hoping the mid-shoulder hair lenght are at least a bigger number then 1 or 2 . And that my qunari horns are very...Pointy!

If they can't have hair past the shoulders it'll be nice if they at least have more cute updos like the one shown on the female elf or a ponytail like Tallis had. I really would've liked a side braid like this, though.

There is a small possibility that they'll show some character creator stuff at the panel tomorrow; if they do, I hope it will be with a female Inquisitor so we can maybe see what sorts of hair styles she can have. And I hope that hairstyles won't actually be limited by what model you use for your Inquisitor's body, although I think when it comes to qunari that may not be possible due to their horns.

 

One more thing to report: all the BioWare staff I spoke to were really happy to see excited fans at the con today, especially since they're in crunch time, working 60 hour weeks trying to get the game as awesome as possible before shipping. So, if you feel like letting them know yourselves how much you appreciate their work, they would love it, I'm sure. If you're on Twitter you can use the #IPlayBioware hashtag to do so.
