XD
I'm hoping we didn't just trade heal spamming for barrier spamming because the same thing by a different name isn't an improvement.
I was thinking the exact same thing when I read up about that. I could certainly see that one happening a lot, particularly in higher levels. It also makes me wonder about how big these dungeon crawls are going to be. If it's on a Skyrim/BG2 level, then healing is going to be an issue. The potion amount is something that can be tweaked either before launch or as a post-release feature. I'm not too worried there. However, that's for another thread.
I'm grumbling a lot about the lack of even a simple dress for the ball. It didn't have to be extravagant, but it could have at least been there. I'm never one to underestimate the sheer amount of work that goes into making a game, especially for animation. However, it strikes me as odd that they couldn't, say, make at least a skirt and top mesh flow and animate correctly considering everything else they've pulled off.
It's not the end of the world for me, nor is it going to kill much interest in the game for me. I know I'll enjoy it. This, however, is the first thing that's diminished my anticipation of the game so far. "Sorry ladies, but even giving an existing mage robe style a new mesh for the ball is just too much work. However, we've got a suit that looks nice for both genders. That's good enough, right?" It is good enough, for sure, and at least it doesn't look like the MotA nightmare. Still, the excuse rings a little hollow this time.
As everything else I've discovered related to DA:I over the summer that I didn't agree with, I'll be over it within a day or so. I'm pretty disappointed for now. I can live without long hair, but not even a dress. Damn.
I won't rant about this one again, promise. I'd rather try to focus on how utterly freaking gorgeous that dwarven lady looks.
