Am I the only one that think it makes more sense for my female Heros to wear pants?
Impractical Armors and being forced into dresses (which makes no sense for my warriors (and often my Rouges) is kinda a pet peeve of mine.
Would you really want to walk into a party scene in the game wearing full plate armor, though? I don't mind pants, but look at how Tallis's party outfit was dealt with in MotA, as opposed to FemHawke...she got a feminine, tasteful outfit that was designed with her in mind, and was appropriate for the occasion.
Female Hawke, however, got a copy-paste of the male outfit. Which, yeah, looked ill fitting, was kind of tacky in its color scheme, and made me think that some designer at Bioware thought "UGH, I have to make a version of this for the female player character too??? I'll just recolor some basic female pants and do a quick shrink and adjustment for boobs on Male Hawke's top."
I am the least "girly" woman around, generally, and would never wear dresses at all in real life if it weren't for my sad attempts to appease my mother at family events, but I distinctly remember feeling very disappointed when I saw what FemHawke was wearing at the party in MotA. Then I looked at Tallis, and I felt annoyed. Both Tallis's party outfit and what we've seen of Vivienne make me think that they *do* know how to design outfits for female characters that are both functional and appropriate for the story.
It could be different this time around, but I think that it does make a statement if the devs heard our feedback about MotA and ignored it.
