Pff they didn't even make the Wind in the game..so you have Repbu and Empire flags everywhere and they don't move .
I wouldn't ask them to make clothes then .
Could we please see more of the Lady Inquisitor?

Actually swtor has cloth physics. But they're only used on a few robes. It's quite poorly done but it's actual physics meaning it's not pre-animated, ie. the faster you more the more it flies, same with falling and jumping or any sort of movement. We've seen DAI has cloth physics too as early as the first female Qunari gameplay. Which makes it more sad we still have hair from the 90s. But I certainly hope there's no trench coats since they're neither armour nor medieval.

Trenchcoat is nice..but not bust your bubble , I don't think they can do it . In Swtor , (made by Bioware)....they have a trenchcoat black and look awesome . But once you put it on...it is rigide . Doesn't move at alll.....it suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck . See for yourself....It just stay like that . No movement at all....when you run .
They have Jedi Consular robes that manage to flap around quite nicely, though

Bah..I have 10 toons . And my Jedi counsular...eww , don't remind me . The brown robes I was stuck with looked like I was wearing a bag of potatoes . Only around lvl47 I found a good one . And the movement is really minime .
Funny how clipping in Swtor doesn't matter . My Commando brough a giant cannon..and half of her face dissapear in it...... ![]()

SW:TOR uses the HeroEngine, has low character detail and a plastic like art style, even the spaceships look funny. Inquisition has already shown that it is in an entirely different league.
Of course, good trenchcoats aren't guaranteed.

I think the Consular robes only look good with trousers* - which is annoying because light armour trousers are scarce. But adaptive stuff is cheap now. And anyway, the cloth physics is pretty OK, though it's not pristine enough to hold up in screenshots of the more dramatic attacks

Yeah but look at that hood..it make you feel like you are wearing a robe thats bigger then ya . I played first as Inquisitor (in Swtor) , and the hooood was perfect (save for Twilek) .
That's actually a good idea

@Gregolian, first Selene/Kate and now Sif... you have excellent taste!
I like accents and I like women that can kill things.
Armor like that would be awesome
Being able to make a character like that is really what I want.

Lol, you know what I meant. It's just not sleek enough for my taste.
I'd rather see something like this:
Spoiler
That's fine. I prefer angular designs when it comes to heavier armors.
I think it was the winged pieces that initially confused me regarding the style actually but I like the colour and ornamentation as well (it might be even more appealing to me in a rich emerald green and gold but that's just personal taste).
Green would be lovely, and I would even love it in a rich bronze.
I'm assuming this is directed towards mine.
I'm glad people like the armor, or at least mostly. ![]()
I don't think that is beyond Dragon Ageification. You take it as inspiration and conform it to the established look of the world. It's worth noting that DA2 already has some pretty big hip guard things in it.
Yay!

I'm going to give you this to read:
http://repair-her-ar...make-me-go-what
And here's a quote from that to illustrate just why JRPG styles would make no sense in DA:
If you want functional, yet 'feminine' armour, then, I'd advocate designs that cover all the important bits (no cleavage window, as that exposes your sternum, making a target of your heart and lungs, and no midriff exposure, as that makes a target of your vital organs). Check this beauty:

It accentuates the breasts indirectly, so the form is pleasing, but no edges pointing inwards. The ENTIRE torso is covered, making it believable as a functioning chestpiece. And BEST OF ALL, it could look the exact same on a male body, and would look just as awesome.
The only problem with the above is the heels, as those things are hard to run in (nevermind walk), but at the very least, they are wedges, allowing for no sinkage in dirt, or random tripping over one's heels. I would still get rid of them though, the outfit doesn't really need em.

Actually regarding the boots, anecdotal evidence here... I move faster and am more graceful in wedge boots. Sometimes even the right stiletto can be great. Heels help me stay on balance when I pivot.

If that was to me Kurin, the picture I posted's armor style fits every criteria laid out and would not be out of place so I don't see the problem.

EDIT: Although I didn't put mean to get involved *here*, my major problem with the picture you posted is the hip and shoulder plates. They'd be uncomfortable at best, unwieldy at worst. They'd be bound to catch on something. The secondary issue (though this isn't a problem), is that it doesn't look consistent to the rest of DA, as in no smith ever trained in Thedas would make something that looks specifically like that. THAT BEING SAID. The layered chestplate is certainly plausible, and the gold filigree and red colour is quite reasonable. It, with minor revisions, could easily be MADE into an armour that fits the aesthetic of DA, without losing its appeal.

I hear that it's really up to the individual. But ideally, all outfits should look the same between male and female in my mind, and the heels are literally the only thing that would stand in the way of that in that set. Otherwise, the armour could literally be the exact same thing on both genders, and no body would bat an eyelash.
(Not that heels on men is a bad thing, but I have a hard time seeing most of my male characters in heels.)

The high heel is supposed to have come from cavalry boots (or so I read somewhere), so there is room for both men and women to wear some kind of pronounced heel in combat. It would require sensibility and taste though, both of which have been lacking in previous video game combat heels.

I had wedges in military boots and my cowboy boots have slight heel/wedge, to help in stirrups. Those would be alright, if the military boot wasnt laced as it is, it would be pulled off from sinking into mud too. Memories.....

Yep, men in past wore heels. There was a scene where a lady in waiting danced with a guy then later commented to another lady about the gent in heels. Wish I could remember exact line and which movie it was....I know I failed.

Well I know a number of paintings and scenes where the men have been wearing raised court shoes, the ones with the buckles across the toe?

Fair enough. In the game where she is from, she is a wyvern rider so she doesn't have to worry about that since if her wyvern can fit she certainly will. Even I don't expect shoulder plates that big. Maybe third to half that size is what I expect in terms of how big DAI will have shoulder armor. Disagree with the secondary issue only because we haven't seen enough of Thedas to really say for certain what smiths would or would not do.
