There's probably a market for it somewhere.  We live in a world where Goat Sim is a top selling game on Steam.   :P

Yeah, but that's a troll game right? I mean, it's not like people play it un-ironically?

Goat sim?  As in you walk around being a goat?  Really?  That's kind of awesome actually lol.

Then again I enjoyed the Jaws game because I got to swim around being a shark and eating things.

No, it's actually pretty popular because it's a lot of fun.  They may have started with the irony, but the game is packed full of humor and folks enjoy it. 9/10 on Steam, and those are some picky people.  This is the type of game where some of the bugs were so funny and not-gamebreaking that they said, "Okay, that's just amusing" and left it in.

Now I'll stop going off-topic so much.

You've introduced at least one person to goat simulator, which obviously is your good deed for the day. Plus, at least we're not explaining how things are sexist again. :P

Yeah I loved that game lol.

I liked "Ecco the Dolphin" (even if the aliens, time travel, and atlantis stuff was a bit silly)

I also enjoyed "dog's life", lol

Oh, as a kids book? I loved the hell out of it when I was in grade 3! I thought you meant for adults.

I didn't read until I was 17 but I still enjoyed it despite it being written with Tolkien's children in mind. As a precursor to reading LOTR I still think it's worthwhile reading as an adult.

Yep. I've spent my whole teenage and adult life being the "gross, manly woman" and then having my fictional character who is supposed to be an escape be pointlessly made fun of for the same reason would be horrible for me. Maybe you don't have anything you've been bullied or hurt over but if you have, would you really not care if that bullying attitude was in the game for no reason, especially when it wasn't before?

The things I was bullied for wouldn't really work very well in a game......

If the Elder One calls the Inquisitor Four-eyes or calls him a pagan then maybe we can talk

After catching up on reading everything. I can see what Puppy wants. Human females with the ability to have stubble as well. Which, would be a good option. I know some that shave, its not 5 o'clock shadowing deal though.

I can relate a little to what Puppy said. Playing a female cat race away from earth really gave me new perspectives. A fictional character I made, grew from my mind and getting treated as how females get treated, mind you she is a lesbian too, surprised me. Considering I sit at the table in the group, knowing who I am. But that was a long and fought struggle to get her respected, which now they sometimes rely on her. Her and only one other out of 9 people that's never fallen or knocked out as of yet. I didnt expect to go through what she would have gone through.

However, there is one member of the group that claims to be a "hardcore roleplayer" asking why I chose a female. Thinking to myself, a "hardcore roleplayer" should be capable of being in any role, and the fact I started roleplaying when he was in diapers.

I reiterated as in conjunction with Puppy's posts. If these roleplayers, call themselves roleplayers, should be capable of understanding choices for every player. Regardless if its a beardless female dwarf or a catgirl from space, they shouldnt be hurt by their own choice.

@Puppy, It took me several months to trim down the groups idea of my choice, and opened alot of minds to several gender issues. Exception is that one guy, that I havent gotten a chance to backlash on yet. I will call him out the next time he questions me. If I loose a friend, thats fine, then he cant call himself a "hardcore roleplayer" and simple fact, I started roleplaying when he was in diapers. So, its good you got away from them but dont keep running. :)

Honestly they aren't good enough friends if they see they got too carried away and keep at it.

Case in point, telling the lizardman to swish his tail again cause it felt good, was in hindsight wrong choice of words. When meant as in reference to using his tail as a fan, that got her laughed at and teased due to wrong words. :P My bad.

I'm not personally offended by it, but I do find 'bearded dwarven lady' jokes...tiresome? Like if they just had beards I wouldn't mind, but 'haha she's so short and hairy and manly!" is just annoying for some reason I can't quite place. Probably some gender thing where women must be beautiful but men can be not normal and it's fine (male dwarves do get short jokes, but it's not quite on the same level).

It also wouldn't fit in Thedas very well, Alistair and Zevran and Leliana found dwarven ladies quite attractive apparently.

It probably wouldn't be the elder one making fun of female dwarves for supposedly being bearded or men either. A bunch of offhand stupid, harassing "joke" comments about people with glasses would make as much sense and add as much to the game as bearded lady comments.

You know, I'm really beginning to think that the guys that have called Cassandra ugly are really lacking in imagination.  For example:

966x695.jpg

No one even stops to consider for one moment that Cassandra could be like Christie up there.

It's just the obsession on beauty = make-up rather than beauty = facial structure that's so ingrained in our society.

My first GF looked at me like I had lost my mind when I said make-up doesn't make women more attractive, just more alluring.

I think those harping on Cassandra for her looks wouldn't think Gwendoline Christie was attractive in either picture. She's tall, she has short hair, and has some arm and leg muscle as well as a modest bust size. The complainers don't want a woman that looks like a real person you'd see on the street, they want an idealized fantasy composite with long flowing hair, perfect skin with no pores, age 18-27, shorter than the male protagonist, with large bust, heavy makeup, and clingly and revealing clothes rather than armor.

A lot of people here seem to struggle to correctly identify the gender of a woman with short hair. They then flap around trying to find other reasons to label her as masculine.

As for her scrubbing up, much as I would love to see radically different character appereances depending on context I don't think it is likely to be a priority in a BioWare game anytime soon.

Maybe I'm going crazy, but does Cassandra have a sort of resemblance to Lauren Bacall?

Can't see it myself, partly because I can't imagine Lauren Bacall without her signature hair do.

I don't see the resemblance. Her eyes are (were?) a different shape, same with the nose.

At first Cassandra looked to me a bit like Nana Visitor, who played Kira Nerys in DS9:

or (at a more Cass-like age):

She actually reminds me of Annie Potts in Ghostbusters, who was 33 at the time of filming:
