I think those harping on Cassandra for her looks wouldn't think Gwendoline Christie was attractive in either picture. She's tall, she has short hair, and has some arm and leg muscle as well as a modest bust size. The complainers don't want a woman that looks like a real person you'd see on the street, they want an idealized fantasy composite with long flowing hair, perfect skin with no pores, age 18-27, shorter than the male protagonist, with large bust, heavy makeup, and clingly and revealing clothes rather than armor.

You know, maybe they just don't find her attractive. It's their opinion even though they're wrong.  ;)

Can't see it myself, partly because I can't imagine Lauren Bacall without her signature hair do.

It was specifically this mug shot of Cas. Similar sort of big features small head thing, shape of the face, smokey eyes. Or not...

It's probably pointless to have this conversation before release.

Her critics tend to go on about how wonderful she was in DA2 though, so I don't think it's that extreme. They just want clean skin and a big head or something.

[possibly tasteless joke removed]

Let's keep it PG, self.

Or they're really into mannequins.

Seessh..... I don't like the critcisms towards Cassandra's looks as you do. But I don't think we should make broad generalizations like that......

Shifting back to the Femquisitor, what races are we missing from the protagonist showcase highlight reel? Have we had an elf or dwarf yet?

As for your question, I think I'm surprising no one when I say...

Dwarf!  Dwarf!  Dwarf!

Elves are so common and probably one of the most used of any fantasy race in RPGs.   Seeing a lovely lady dwarf would be a nice change in compared to all the willowy elves the are so common in the landscape.

They may be used alot in different games . But they certainly don't look the same or even have the same lore about them . Kinda make me miss the elf/dark elf stuff.................... <_<

So let's say we get a dwarf (agree with everyone it's her turn to shine!). Warrior or rogue? I'm partial to warrior myself, 'cause I kind of have this image of her as a brawler with redhair, freckles and a big toothy grin, but maybe my imagination has gotten way ahead of me at this time of night.

I thought the last livestream had them playing as a female elf. They didn't say but her ears looked pointy.

On the build your own Inquisitor page of the Dragon Age website. Some of the pictures of women (human rogue) seem to have more between their legs than they should. It might be bad recycling of images, or possibly those leggings come with protection.

It does not appear to be an issue in game.

Rogue, and you can probably guess the weapon.  Let's see a dwarf with a bow for once.

I'll send you a PM of the approximate look I'm going for with her.

Yay! Thanks! :D A dwarf with ginger red hair, freckles, and be sassy with a bow. That would be sweet.

I know this is from a very different game, and a very different genre, and I don't really like to butt into ongoing conversations...  but I promise, it's kinda relevant. Sort of. Just watch until the end, it's rather short. Also, funny Top Gun reference.

That scythe would have decoupled and opened fire at point blank.

I'm not sure that's how I wanted them to annuonce it but It's cool they're getting female pilots working.

It's a lot better than when I saw DA2 Cas as being like Buzz Lightyear.

When I do a female Dwarf playthrough, I might have her as a warrior using sword and shield

You know, I'm really beginning to think that the guys that have called Cassandra ugly are really lacking in imagination.  For example:

No one even stops to consider for one moment that Cassandra could be like Christie up there.

If I may be fair...

She's not my favorite for different reasons. Firstly, while short hair can look good--default female Hawke pulls this off nicely--hers is in a style that I dislike (I actually like it more in the knight picture). I also think her face protrudes in odd ways.

Not that any of this would matter if I had an emotional attachment to her, but I don't, and will never for obvious reasons.
