Spoiler
Wasteland 2 never advertised to having female playability either, I went in, assuming if its similar to Fallout, it should. It did.
Though I doubt they advertised much, the male that is on the front row is the General, and a mix of men and women behind him.
I agree, a female trailer needs aired along with the male.
I watched two trailers of Sunset Overdrive, first one caught my attention only a little bit as something fun, second one showed a female, in assassin garb to show that females are playable, then I got hooked.
This one was advertised on Xbox as new game trailer out, its why I checked it.

Yeah I still would really like a better trailer with a female Inquisitor than the one we got where she is merely a voice over then shown from a distance in the very end of it. I would love to have one of her in a trailer that shows her clearly and her kicking some ass in some way. I want something I can show friends that would like to play as a female PC to get them into the game. If the game doesn't get your attention right away you won't dig into it and the triggers that get you interested are different for everyone for some its being able to play as a female. If I had not been introduced to DA by a relative and had not gotten onto the forums or even play the other games and just saw a trailer for DAI I wouldn't even think that I could play as a female and probably pass it up. From what I have personally experienced in games is if there is a customize factor to the game including picking your gender then there are other things that I usually enjoy in that game as well so without customization being advertised I assume its something I'll feel 'eh' about at best. I am honestly very surprised that making your own hero isn't heavily advertise in this game (from what I noticed at least) because for me personally that is a huge selling point and would make me and a lot of people I know take a look at the game and see if its something we would enjoy or not.

I believe that was more poking fun at Ubisoft's "gurrrls are extra hradz , we no time for dat!" ![]()
On a more serious note, it annoys the heck out of me that every time a seemingly fun games come out, I have to search high and low over the internet to find out if I can play as a female protagonist. So a trailer featuring a female protagonist is definitely very helpful for players, and it can even attract more potential buyers.
Still, credit where credit is due, I think the DA team is doing a pretty god job this time by showing Lady quzzies in big public events like E3 or games com
Since we still have a month before release, I have faith we will see more of Her Eminence ![]()
Ps: I've been lurking in these thread for a while, and may I say that all you ladies/gents are wonderful? ![]()

Yes, I figured that was the point of it. Sad that Ubisoft did that, only hurt themselves.
The DA team is doing a fantastic job.
I try to mention it on tweet to them.
Thanks for the PS.
Can it have a 4 behind it?
Then I wont have to buy that system later too. ![]()

Actually have 2 of the 3 platforms, once I get the PS4, I will have all the current platforms. ![]()
I tend to choose console over my PC games, except right now really loving Wasteland 2.

Poor Aveline, she was, by far, a more interesting protagonist than Connor, and so many AC lovers still haven't touched her.
On another note, I read earlier that Arno's wardrobe can consist of slight variations on every assassin protagonist to date, and I thought to myself, how much do I want to bet that 'every assassin' means 'every assassin save Aveline'. And then I saw the badass that is Shao Jun is getting relegated to DLC (that looks like a side-scroller), and I cried.
And it's not only women. The majority of the assassins have been white, and even Altair was given an American accent in his first iteration. Ubisoft isn't the best at diversity.

Wish I could like this. Ran out of likes, Sera thread ate the last of them.
I found her awesome!
Which, they had her, so why couldn't they made a female assassin one of the four. They went the lazy way copied 1 dude 4 times, the other game rogue also has the same dude appearance. They are all white, no black or females. That is sad, they could of even at least made one black guy in there too. They are making Shao Jun a side scroller? ![]()
They are an example of not trying to reach out to female players. I am not going to say their company is bad. I just hope they learned from the pressure they got, to try and change at least one or two of them to become diverse, female and black optionals. They would get several more buyers from it I am sure. Currently, I have no desire to buy them. i may rent and try it out.

It looks like it. Though it can be confirmed that it is 2.5D anda DLC addon as opposed to a full game. It is called Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China. Included in the season's pass for AC:Unity (available separately too).

Yeah, such a wasted chance, not only alienating female player and Chinese audiences as well, the collective opinion over here is basically " we get a assassin of our own and a AAA game featuring our culture, Swee.....What?! It's just a DLC side scroller ?!LAME!!" ![]()

To be fair, they have PoC and female characters in MP.......which make the "too Hardz no time" excuse more infuriating.
C'mon guys, you got at least FOUR ladies in AC4 MP, a game with full mo-capped CHESS SEQUENCE for crying out loud....

So, I'm guessing you've never played....
Tomb Raider series
Beyond Good and Evil
Fatal Frame 1, 2, and 3
Bayonetta 1 and 2
Fear Effect 1 and 2
Drakan The Ancients Gate,
Venetica
Alice Madness Returns
Silent Hill 3
Death by Degrees
Cy Girls (okay that game was crap, but still)
Remember Me
Mirror's Edge
...to name a few?
Yeah I've played about nine of those titles and the ones I remember seeing ads for Alice 1 TV ad , Mirror's Edge 1 TV 1 gamestop ad, Remember Me in a poster only at my local gamestop store and nothing else, bayonetta gamestop instore ad. The rest I stumbled upon by going to my store and seeing them on the shelf.
That list is cute and one reused alot and it basically showcases you need to have at least 2-3 different game systems to enjoy all those games because some of those are exclusives or not re-released. I could also counter that with male games 30+ titles for nearly every one of those released. Women solo protagonist are out numbered 7 to 1 you need to add in games that let you choose your gender to even bring that number up. An independent ongoing project so far has viewed 400 games between the years of 1981 - 2014 from that lot solo male only lead games 212, total solo fem only lead games 34 and 87 games allow you to choose your gender this includes games that only let you pick a gender in MP only ie CODghost and AC series as well as games that will let you pick and play from the start ie ME and Skyrim, you have to add in create your own characters to inflate that number so when companies in general don't advertise their fem leads and potential buyers need to dig like crazy or wait till the game comes out and wikkia finally tells you, you just down that number.
BW is doing a great job gameplay, character creation showcasing and more recently creating that amazon listing but they can't drop the ball on the CG front its the total package advertising to reach gamers in all areas not just a few its max coverage not partial. Sometimes CG trailers are all players will see due to any number of things casual hardcore play aka they're binge playing when games they like come out with long gaps due to low product production, casual only play of selective genres, or time constraints like work, school, family some people only want to see CG trailers because of the creative story telling it can provide in such a small movie quality segment of time and to these people watching gameplay is tedious and less thrilling what everyone says and what I also allude to in my rant is BW can't drop the ball on the CG front she needs to be there too in the same time lengths, choice time slots, and her trailer needs to make clear she's the hero, its going to be worth it to play from her perspective, she's important, she's the playable character not some sweet sounding sidekick you'll probably save later or bang.

It's a crying shame the way that First Female Protag for AC series was first delivered (PS Vita only for a good while) and that it is a heavily watered down version of a full AC game.
Wonder what UBIsoft was thinking when they conceptualized that. Seems ill-conceived on so many levels. Still a good game. Just a terrible test case for female AC protag.

Heh, maybe the folks at UbiSoft should talk to Jennifer Hale. When I was at the Denver Comic Con earlier this summer, someone asked her at a panel what's the voice she'd like to do the most. Without hesitation, she said, "A female assassin in Assassin's Creed."

I like the armour too. I think it is that staff and I think the armour is probably the mage version of the DLC armour. This stuff can be made to look quite different if you craft it with different materials.
