The test is obviously flawed due to the fact It was only as a joke at first.

Out of curiosity, how much stock do you put into Body Mass Index?

Very true. A game or movie has to spark your interest before you'll research it and if it presents itself as a generic, fixed straight white man protagonist shooter or hack n slash I'm not going to look farther. I can honestly say I've never been tempted to read an article on games like CoD or Gears of War or Battlefield.

I got battlefield 3 through humble bundle and was chuffed to bits with it. I don't even like guns irl and fully support US gun control but it's just fun how you get to be so creative.

It's like a cartoony simulation of a live battlefield and you see the most outrageous things happen. Bonus points if you enjoy teamwork and flying things.

Yeah, definitely not my thing.

I'm playing my first military shooter (Spec Ops: The Line) now thanks to Critical Distance's compilation on it, which is what grabbed my attention. Without that, I wouldn't have known it was any different from any other CoD type game.

I am really not a huge fan of that game.

I like it so far because it has great atmosphere, but can I ask why not? No spoilers though. I'm barely into the game myself.

I'm pretty sure there's stuff in the game that's pretty uncomfortable and terrifying even if you haven't played a shooter before.

I don't want to spoil it for veeia, but there is one thing that was legitimately disturbing and they messed that up everything else was..... ah I should keep quiet while she finishes the game!

Man. The first thing I'm doing in character creation is knocking the lip shininess all the way to the bottom.

I'll be the only one in Thedas that's not wearing lipgloss, but it'll be worth it.

Not the only one, I assure you.  I can't see my dwarf rockin' the lip gloss either.  :P

Pfft the lip gloss is a tactical advantage. You can blind you enemy's with that shine.

By the way, to everyone that reads the thread, I apologize for getting so snappish last week.  Especially to you, fdgvd.  You didn't deserve me being such a pain to you.  I wasn't in a great headspace, and I needed a few days away  from the forums.

Yeah, but I prefer to be a sniper.  That shine would be a giveaway to the enemy at night.   :P

I appreciate that Natashina, it's not just you I can be very difficult when I feel really convicted about something, which is why I didn't want to go any further.

The story and acting is amazing, but it's not a happy one. I don't think whether you usually play shooters or not is gonna affect much. It's pretty much only praised for its story but I found the gameplay fun enough and the desert very pretty.

I think it was described as "generic" but since I don't play cod halo or gears of war it's still fresh to me. The "micheal bay set pieces" were great. A+ would recommend. There's sorta meaningful choices as well which is impressive considering it's not an rpg.

I just wanted to mention that the review embargo lifts today!  I'm looking forward to screenshots, and curious about the look that some are picking for their PC.  Spoilers are going to start to become almost impossible to dodge on the forums.    Is anyone is like me and going to on media black-out starting later today? I'll probably be in this section, since I'm less likely to get spoiled here just by looking at a thread title.  The rest of the DA forums are a no-go for me.  Most posters don't mean any harm, but I'm sure someone will get too excited and make a thread title a spoiler.  I'd managed to avoid spoilers since August, and I've got less than a week to go.

I'm almost hoping we can make warmer armor in this game for the female Inquisitor.   I'd also like to see some more screenshots of the Frostback Mountains.  It's not always easy to make snow and the surrounding terrain look interesting.  Cold weather is on the brain, since I just watched the temperature drop 50 degrees in less than 24 hours.  It hit 62F yesterday at 10am, and was snowing by 4pm..  Now it's just barely in the double digits at 12 degrees, with a high of 24F later today.   :P

Mmmm I'm not into military fps like COD or Battlefield (Gears and Halo are more my preferences for FPS) but a story rich one would entice me.

Anyway, I think I may have to vacate the forums shortly. Release here isn't until the 20th and I really don't want to be spoiled, specially not for my special lady Quizzy playthrough.

Even though I'm getting the game sooner, I'll still probably be MIA save for PMs for about a week or so after it launches.  I don't want to get spoiled and I don't want to accidentally spoil anything for people overseas.   :)

I highly disagree especially with the choices, but it's my opinion though.

For shooters I've really only played a few Tom Clancy based ones and the original rainbow 6 games were at least half tactical planning before playing through the mission (which is how I got into them in the first place) and a few of them let you play as a female. Most of the newer ones, ghost recon, spec ops etc don't but I'm hoping Rainbow 6 Siege will (and it did show a female in it's multiplayer demo at E3 so maybe) cause I tend to play these games co-op with my bro, I'm the sniper . Actually anything with guns in it I like to take the sniper route and that includes Fallout.

I'm in the no lip gloss crowd too. For which I imagine my inquisitrix is thanking me right now  :P .

@Natashina, it happens but hopefully a few days off have cleared your head and you're feeling better now. Nice to have you back anyway.  :D

Also you've been watching the temperature drop and I'm envious... it's going up here... or was until a couple of storms last night. Also trying to avoid spoilers and will be MIA after game launches here in Aus and since we're a day ahead of north America we'll only be a day behind it's actual release... might avoid the forums Wednesday though if I can manage that much self control.  ;)
