People don't always stop to think about things until they are pointed out for them, but then when they do, they think about them from their own perspective. So for someone to whom playing male is never a question, even if they are asked explicitly, thinking about GG stuff isn't going to change their mind---and that's awesome, it's not a bad thing at all. But if someone plays male because they always play male and they see a female option and they consider it a second longer because the visibility of women in games is higher right now, and then they decide to do it because it could be cool, that's great.
I wasn't trying to imply it was a huge factor nor that anyone choose Inquisitrix to make a statement, just that the minds of many games writers right now are possibly slightly influenced by what's happening in the larger games conversation.
