There might be something wrong with my eyes, but I honestly can barely notice a difference between DA:I and this game. Is it that the strands are more individually detailed? I just don't get the difference I'm seeing.

People said the same about Morrigan's face being too pointy, or Isabella's jaw in DA2. Some people are just a bit coo-coo for cocopuffs.

No blunt chunks, more depth of color, more fashionable style, more detail, and they were previous gen.

Oh poo..... just as I post more appear. Very good thread. :)

Morrigan was sexy, Isabella is as well. Cassandra seems like a rough type, I do kinda like that, but what is she like? I need to read more of who she is. Interested in learning more about her. I think she is beautiful too, but personalities breaks even the most gorgeous woman to me. I met a couple really good looking ladies but they was so vile in personality, they looked ugly to me.

To be fair, it's much easier to put this level of care in good looking hairstyles when you only have to make a few of them, for the few significant characters of your cast. I don't know if many people would be quick to vote for better quality hair if it meant they only get like 5-6 styles to choose from (that also get shared with every NPC in the game)

Something that matches the quality of the skin and clothing not something that looks like it came straight out of the PS2.

Ellie's hair only looks good in the prerendered cutscenes.

To be fair, they had a lot more percentage of their budget for it.

One if the artists (Matt Rhodes, I think?) said that when creating a female character they would try to ask "Do her looks say what I want about her," rather than "Does she seem attractive?" Do you think they are doing this in DAI?

I think so.

Yes, exactly, I can not like that drawing more. Although I am annoyed that so many concepts use unrealistic bras that in no way would actually work.

Too many look just like human women. They seem to be there not to be Qunari but just to look like exotic fantasy babes. They seem eerily like Asari in way too many ways. Humans are curvy, Elves are thin and willowy, Dwarves are short and fat, and Qunari should be buff ladies. What annoys me a lot is that they are not really very muscular at all, about the same a human woman should be.

I want at least the Qunari to be as buff as human Male.

Someone said Bioware was worried about women on the cover because it effects sales and I watched those. They were arguing against that. Saying it was bad common wisdom that needs to be avoided. They put an agender protagonist on the cover because they want to show as little of the inquisitor as possible. This when they could have gone with Grizzled Male tm, and they have only really done two trailers. They are doing Male Quizzy but I have every confidence they will do Female Quizzy.

I would rather have 5 good hairstyles than 15 bad ones. They don't have to be perfect but please nothing like the hairstyles in ME3 and DA2 ever again. The hair actually got worse from ME2 to ME3 somehow.

I didn't mind male DA2's hairs (though I only used 1) but yeah I'm still boggled as to how my Shep not only got uglier in ME3 but his hair looked worse too.

My sexy sexy Guardian ;_; ruined.

Even the 3 versions of the friar tuck? Or the deformed blunt spikes that were clearly a failed attempt at JRPG hair? Or the long straight hair that looked like it was half hair and half sausage? :D

So you wish to deny people options?  ;)

To me, that kind of misses the point.

I mean, I'm sure Matt Rhodes doesn't go out of his way to make all his female characters fall in line with modern standards of 'beauty'. I think he (and most character designers) do it automatically, without thinking about it. That's the problem; they aren't thinking about the fact that all their female characters have smoking-hot bodies while guys can be fat, or what that means.

Show me a fat male companion. Sure every woman companion has an attractive body, but so does every man companion.

*shivers* Don't forget the greasy style from ME2 for me. IT wasn't great but it was at least salvagable in ME2...then in ME3...

I'd like to see the telemetry on the hair. Like, how many people actually chose Emile's hair. Or the really hideous facial hair stuff. Just curious.

I only used one as well because I thought the others were crap. :P

Just because none of the male companions have beer guts doesn't mean they're attractive!  I doubt ANY of them were specifically designed to be attractive, except for maybe Cullen because they thought they should throw people a bone.

They have attractive bodies though. The faces are what is the unattractive part, and that is debatable.

lololol.

Cullen is a decent piece of eyecandy. I half wish he was a companion. As long as he keeps his mouth shut.

We haven't even seen their bodies yet, how do you know. :P With the exception of Steroids McMuscles Iron Bull and Short Hairy Mushroom Varric, neither of whom I find objectively attractive in the slightest. The big attraction that Varric seems to have is his personality.

I'm using past companions as a base. We haven't seen the female bodies either.

Well, and his chest hair apparently. :P
